“That’s just about everything.”  Starr spoke, looking around at their open living room.  The room was filled with warmth from the large fireplace, creating quite the contrast to the cool air outside.  Snow flurried around outside the windows, almost creating a chill just from the sight.  It was the perfect scene for the holiday festivities to come.

“Just have to wait for everyone to arrive.”  Daye added, scanning the room one last time.

Just as the words were leaving her lips, the doorbell rang, indicating the first of their guests were here.  The couple smiled at each other, excited for the night ahead of them.  They’d been planning for this event for months.

Much to their surprise, it wasn’t just one of their guests, but all of them.  Each one was exiting their car, making their way up the front porch steps.  Daye and Starr welcomed them all in one by one, directing them to where to leave their coats, gifts, and where to go from there.

Their home was soon filled with some of their closest friends.   Cookies warmed in the oven from the other room, causing a sweet smell to course through the home.

“Make yourselves comfortable, we’ll be out to join you in just a moment.” Daye spoke.

The snow leopard and raccoon went into the kitchen, turning off the oven and setting the cookies out to cool.  They each pulled off their clothes, leaving only their festive stockings and Starr’s hat in place.  It was time to party.

The two made their way back out, observing the scene that had already begun unfolding around them.

“Well, well, well, looks like they couldn’t wait~” Starr licked her lips and the two stared hungrily over the group, ready to claim their gifts this year.
