the tick tock thing is a time keeper for keeping time with music learning to play piano and such.

The actor who plays the Texas Ranger that gets shot first is Chuck Roberson. Who is Wayne's stunt double in a lot of his film's. Wayne almost always made sure Chuck also had a role in the movie's too.

Chewing tobacco came in one inch thick, and two inches square, compressed block's. You cut off, or bite off what you want. This film has three generation's of Wayne's. His son Patrick, and his grandson Ethan Wayne. I think I'm going to choose "The Shootist" as MY Wayne pick.

the Dog was a Collie and for him dying basically he gave his life to save the boy.

John Wayne wore a golden brass bracelet everywhere he went. He received the bracelet as a gift from the Montagnard people of Vietnam, a native population which vehemently fought against communism during the Vietnam War. What brought Wayne to Vietnam was his film "The Green Berets," which he directed and starred in. It was the only major film that was actually in support of the war rather than opposed to it, as most of Hollywood was. The bracelet signified that Wayne was an honorary member of the Montagnard people. He wore it in "The Green Berets" and in all of his films afterward. Many say he was buried with it as well

The pack animal was a Mule, not a donkey- a Mule is a hybrid between a horse and a donkey, they are generally a lot stouter, sturdier, and more sure-footed than a horse. they are bigger than an actual donkey, you will see them in a lot of westerns pulling heavy wagons, plows, or as pack animals.

actually, I think the first time J sees John Wayne do what he does in " The Shootist", needs to be "The Cowboys". I think that scene in the Cowboys had more impact if it's the first time you see it happen. I can't stand you know who to this day. Rio bravo, Rooster Cogburn in the lady, sons of katie elder, el lorado, or any of the John ford/John wayne Calvery films they are all good.

What are we going to watch when J goes on vacation??? Is Blank going to draw from the well of patreon picks??? And most importantly... What are we going to watch when Blank goes on vacation!!! (God Knows those 2 earned some time off)

John Wayne story worth digging:
Wayne was staying in a Vegas hotel and Frank Sinatra had the room above him. Sinatra was partying deep into the witching hours...Wayne complained to the front desk about the noise, but...like, Sinatra, right?

Wayne banged on the hotel door and a Sinatra bodyguard stopped him. Wayne grabbed a chair and smashed it over the bodyguard's head, knocking him into next Sunday. The needle on the record scratched to a stop. Frank told Wayne, "sorry about the noise, John. We'll turn it down."

...and, scene.

EOMedia

He's only taking Monday and Wednesday off, and Million Dollar Baby and likely Blow will be going up. He'll be recording Mrs. Doubtfire it looks like later this week and be back on schedule. Only because it's all I have ready, when I do take a break I'm gonna put the Lord of the Rings reactions all together as 3 hour and twenty minute videos and hope for the best. LoL But I don't plan a break anytime soon.

Big Frank

The fans will be here, so if you need a brake please take it!!!

My mom always said John Wayne didn't win academy awards (except for true grit) because he wasn't acting he was being himself.

Chris Baldwin

I understand, I think, what YOU want. I own EVERY SINGLE John Wayne film ever made, and more importantly, it's my $100.00, so I get to choose what I want, not you. No offense meant. I have already told Blank which film I want for May. So, right now I will request "The Shootist" as my June pick. You beat me out of "Big Jake", and I let it slide. Not anymore.

he was also nominated for best lead Actor for The sands of Iwo Jima. He was a good actor, a lot of good actors are just playing different versions of themselves some of it with awards was his politics did not line up with typical for Hollywood.

Robin Ann Weber

I'm sure Wayne was nominated for many but I'm not gonna challenge mom I know what's good for me Hollywood politics wasn't that the case for Spielberg too lmk I sort of remember him being overlooked alot

“We soften violence with humor in my films. Nobody ever goes out of the theater bent on hurting anybody else after seeing one of my pictures.” —John Wayne
