Part 1: Hollywood. 1969. Hippies and revolutionaries mingle with rock gods and movie stars. The dream is over, but the party won't end. Gangsters, drug dealers, spooks and cult leaders haunt the scene. As the summer rolls on, Reagan unleashes his dogs on the counterculture, LAPD bulls run wild, paranoia reaches fever pitch, secret networks plot in the shadows, and the Family mounts an apocalyptic assault on Cielo Drive.

Tonight, we begin the end of Season of the Witch with a look at the dark networks encircling the LA scene of the late-60s, and go deep on one of the CIA's most controversial programs and the sickos connected to it.

I checked my email for the last time this evening and saw that this wonderful thing had been released!

Was just finishing reading Chaos for the second time when you announced the subject of this episode, so I'm looking forward to this with the info fresh in mind. Besides that book and Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon (some of which is very interesting but some of the claims disputing songwriting and instrumental skill don't really hold up looking at them as a musician), do you (or does anyone else) have a few more recommendations for books on that era/subject? In particular one of the things that seems like a gap in the narratives of the era is the evolution of LSD synthesis from it's period of legality to prohibition as the techniques and skill required changes considerably and leaves a number of unanswered questions (imo), and from there the change in amphetamine production to mass production right at the end of the 60's...I won't waste more space here but I feel there's something important missing and sadly there doesn't seem to be a text like Mccoy's Politics of Heroin that similarly cover it.

Burnout? Just take a break man

GhostStoriesForTheEnd

Ah it's cool, there's just a lot to do and it hasn't helped that I've had a run of bad cold/chest infection/tonsillitis/bad cold again. I don't normally get sick so it's been quite annoying (definitely not covid, I tested). Everything is still a-go-go for 🐙

2 eps a month is fine. Your eps are also 1.5 hours long which is like 2 podcast episodes. Also, I think the rest of the globe wants to wrap up America sooner rather than later.

Cocaine supernova is Oasis best tune. Release new eps when they are ready, and not a minute sooner.

Death to the facist insect indeed young man. Well done on another superb show. And don’t worry about the show frequency. Its all good. Take your time.

You're doing great! I think a slower release schedule is preferable to another longer hiatus due to burnout. Keep up the good work at the pace that makes sense.

Take your time, it's great stuff! I'm glad it resumed at all.

Please take as much time as you need; I got into the podcast right around the time the Gladio episode dropped, it's the only pod I religiously follow and I would hate to see you burn out because of a workload that's too high :(

This was another beautifully written and produced episode on the scourge of cladestine institutional evil in the modern world.

Man this is some great shit, just did a second listen on it. Your scripts rock, why no write for BBC or English intelligence?
