  • So I’m wondering if you have any tips, or workflow for how you approach text? Sorry for long or silly question!

Hi bestieee, not a silly question at all! I feel you about trying to have like your own lettering style, and I think that's why I started just doing the erasing method! I feel like using my own handwriting is just... idk.. it doesn't look very stylish for the painting haha plus it makes the letters a bit.. uniform when i use it for my scrabble tiles and other brand letterings!

I also love the effect when I erase!! It's like.. hmmm.... likeeee when you use those letter stamps?? all those lil dirt around the letters add more style to it!

But also bestieee!! I'm not sure if you're familiar but you can use this site called calligraphr to turn your handwriting into your own font! So you can just type it but it would appear like it's your handwriting but umm cleaner, i guess??

  • What's your favorite color palette?

At the moment I love these twoooo!! I'm pretty sure I already uploaded we're barack here but not fart vader, I attached both below!!

  • What part of drawing is the most fun?

The super duper last part! Hahahah the finishing part when I can do little pencil doodles and add more textures, and more papers!! like the last silly little pizzazzzz you know what i mean

  • What do you do in your day job?

hehe im a silly little executive assistant secretary office girlieeee!!

  • What size do you usually use for the canvas on Procreate?

I always use 3400x4400 px!

  • Do you use cmyk or rgb?

i use rgb because colors are better on screen!

  • Do you use illustrator or ps for any color correction?

No I don't! All Procreate! I don't know how to use photoshop tbh HAHAHAH i tried to use it before for prints but i just eventually uninstalled that super legal super not pirated photoshop

  • How to calculate perspective?

Bestie i am sosososo sorry im a dumdum im not sure but im assuming youre asking about like how i do proportions? if not, please message me so i can answer againnn!! But if you are asking that, i'm gonna try to make it short so it's not boring haha

So back when i was starting i tried looking up how to do proportions and shit and stuff like this with like.. 1/3, 2/3 etc.. but my pea brain could really absorb this, i always forget it and it always felt very.. like rigid?? to me (i still think its important to learn this tho!! my head just empty)

it makes me feel like this:

So i just come up with another way for me to try to match the references, and observing the negative and positive spaces and reducing the subject to simple shapes really helped me!!

Like for example, the skin around the lips is the negative space, the lips would be the positive. Then I would just try to replicate the shapes of the negative space to my own painting. I just eyeball it most of the time so you don't really see it in my timelapses but, like.. i just try to remember that there should be a triangle on the upper right side and lower left side, just stuff like that.. idk if it made sense?

then now that i have that lip outline, i move to the inside, the actual lower and upper lip would be my negative space and the inside would be the positive

So i just do this over and over again, i decide which is the negative space and the positive,

then i just also try to observe the simple shapes all around so i can replicate the details

So that's pretty much it! After this i'll do more subtle details

But this is basically how I do proportions, i apply this to everything I paint: faces, objects, smaller details, parts that are wonky and not really super perfect 1/3 thingy u know what i mean

Let me know if you guys want me to do a longer proportions post hehe

Thank you guys again for the questionsss!!! If you have more, I'd be super duper glad to make Q&A postsss!!!

lov u bestiessss!!!

i have more spicy papers to upload soon!!!!!!!!!
