  • What's a couple of ways that you get motivated and

i apologize in advance if this is corny as FUCK but... i truly am an excited queen.. i think the number 1 thing that gets me motivated is pure excitement to make something hahaha i think it helped me when i started incorporating the things i love to my art. For example, I love watching movies, so I'd be like oooooh lemme turn this into a painting then it would actually make me "get my ass up and work" as kim kardashian said

another main motivation for me is that i really really really really really really want to make this my main source of income, i wanna make art for a living!!! There is no back up plan!!! This or nothing!! So i need to do it hehe

  • where do you draw inspiration from?

Movies - oooooh when i watch a movie with great color scheme its so joever for me

Songs - some songs bring up cute memories that makes me wanna paint hehe

Pee-pole.. random memories - you think some objects are random but this big brain bestie has some little easter eggs here and there about my irl besties <3

Other artists - my super duper all time favorites including.. (but not limited to.. wow big words) Kehinde Wiley, Lauren Tsai, eunpyonart, fleshpng, nogobed

  • do you ever get to a point where you just abandon a project instead of salvage?

it happens but maybe like once a year!! here's my current "im soooo foken sure ill never foken touch this again"

sometimes a painting just got bad vibes hahahahhaha but i try not to abandon anything because my painting times are always limited so every painting is ✨precious✨ :((

  • do you know what u want a painting to look like before u start or do u mostly wing it?

I 100% just wing it! I usually just start painting a portrait and then I base the objects and the vibe on like a current favorite song lyric or if I wanna dedicate a painting to a person or a memory hehe

  • Where did you grow up and what did you love drawing when you were young? (this one was asked on Threads and i already answered it there but i would feel like a jerk if i'd be like oh here's the link to the answer HAHAHHA)

I was born and raised in the Philippines (but i live in the US now) yes yes yes a filipina queen.. or should i say,, swagapino

I only started painting dec 2016 and before that i have literally no interest in art but i remember i loved doodling cubes and eyes on my school notebooks lmao

  • how do you choose colors

I just wing it bestie hehe but I also tend to go for warmer colors, so i usually start with like.. yellows or oranges..

These days, I've been using a lot of song lyrics in my paintings, and i think I get the color vibes from the song vibe hehe

Sometimes I paint a portrait too and base all the other colors from it like with Rob Patt's red shirt, I just started looking up and painting all red stuff lol

I think it's also important to kind of be familiar with color theory which i have a post somewhere here under the tutorials collections hehe let me know if u guys want an updated one!

  • do you have 3d tutorial recommendations

ahhhh im sorry bestie I've always been bad at watching tutorials because i have the foken shortest attention span! I'm learning 3d with nomadsculpt and it's just very beginner friendly!

I am trying to watch blender guru for the donut tutorials tho lmaooo right now im only on video 6!!!

Link:  blenderguru

and for nomadsculpt, I stumbled upon RaZum_inc's videos and he's got like a patreon type thingy too it's called boosty, and he's got tutorials but the coolest stuff I got from him are his nomadsculpt clay brushes!! super duper cool!

  • differences of nomadsculpt and blender

Bestie honestly..... i haven't gone past the blender donut tutorial yet lmaoooo but hmmm as a 3d beginner.. the biggest difference is the interface and how 10000000x beginner friendly and intuitive nomadsculpt is! I feel like anyone can just download it and start making cute stuff in one sitting whereas with blender, you will need to watch a whole ass video before you can make a decent one!

but...  nomadsculpt is super duper limited, with blender you can do animations, use so much more textures and effects, i don't even think there are effects on nomadsculpt other than the aesthetic ones like making the models shiny or glowy and stuff like that

That's all bestiesss! I'll update this if I get more questions, you can still ask below too!!!!

hehe that's all good night mwa mwa

Not sure if you’ve talked about it before and I just haven’t seen it but was wondering about how you approach the text/font you add to your art. I’ve noticed you seem to use this lay down and erasing technique and I’ve seen it in a few artists work lately but I’ve tried to make my own lettering that way and I can’t get my head around it. I’m sure it’s largely just me being unpracticed but I just love how you manage to do your lettering for the song lyrics n text bits you add. I love the effect the erasing gives. Also you always seem to recreate the lettering so well for all the little bits and pieces you add like scrabble tiles and food packaging and such in your art. So I’m wondering if you have any tips, or workflow for how you approach text? Sorry for long or silly question!

All those artists you said inspire you are so good, what the heck. You're the first artist I've stumbled upon that does the grudge looking sketchbook page feel and I'm loving it. Now I have flesh.png too. Big yes. Nogobed is amazing too. Do you ever follow too many artists and just get overwhelmed? Pretty sure I'm subbed to like 1,500 artists at this point on Insta. 🔥
