26 NBA teams were in action on Wednesday night. This might be the longest report I write all year. Let’s jump in!

Shaedon Sharpe

29 PTS | 3-6 3PT | 7 REB | 5 AST | 1 STL | 2 BLK | 6-10 2PT | 8-10 FT | 42 MIN

🔸We knew that Simons’ injury would expand Sharpe’s role but…my god. Massive minutes, huge on-ball role, and expanding his fantasy stat set with dramatic improvements in offensive rebounding, playmaking and free throw shooting/volume. Creating and making shots like a star wing - the breakout is upon us.

Scottie Barnes

21 PTS | 4-6 3PT | 12 REB | 5 AST | 1 STL | 2 BLK | 4-10 2PT | 1-1 FT | 29 MIN

🔸Huge leaps in midrange efficiency (51.6%, 87th percentile), defensive rebounding (79th percentile), and block rate (96th percentile!) are fueling a massive breakout for Barnes. This was consistent across the preseason - giving us a 9 game sample of this stat set and huge role. Barnes has pushed inside of the top 20 of my dynasty rankings and may go higher.

Cade Cunningham

30 PTS | 5-9 3PT | 5 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 6-18 2PT | 3-3 FT | 37 MIN

🔸Cade is now shooting 44.1% from three on big volume - confirming that his long-running shin injury was affecting the lift on his shot the last two seasons. The Pistons’ lack of spacing is leaving Cade with no room to breathe at the rim - he’s shooting 37.5% (4th percentile), but I think we’ll see growth there once Bojan Bogdanovic returns.

Chet Holmgren

19 PTS | 1-5 3PT | 11 REB | 3 AST | 1 STL | 2 BLK | 7-9 2PT | 2-2 FT | 37 MIN

🔸After facing so much doubt as a prospect, Chet is doing exactly what he always does - scoring efficiently at the rim (6-8 here) and protecting the rim at the other end (14 contested shots in this game, 98th percentile block rate on the season) regardless of the size of the opposing center. Add in 52.4% 3PT shooting and 80% from the line and the outlines of a fantasy superstar are obvious - we were right on Chet.

Evan Mobley

14 PTS | 0-0 3PT | 8 REB | 5 AST | 2 STL | 2 BLK | 6-12 2PT | 2-3 FT | 35 MIN

🔸A monster defensive effort from Mobley to finally get over the hump against the Knicks, but the regression at the rim continues (56.8% on the season) and he’s attempted only one three pointer all season. The passing vision remains strong so there’s hope for more growth there.

Alperen Şengün

19 PTS | 1-1 3PT | 7 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 8-11 2PT | 0-1 FT

🔸Şengün has hit a three in HOU’s last three games and has the highest assist rate of his career. The offensive role is massive - Alperen is fourth in the NBA in frontcourt touches behind only Embiid, Sabonis, and Jokic - with a heavy diet of post-ups and elbow touches. He’s averaging 10.8 potential assists per game. Oh, and he’s second to only Jabari Smith Jr. in net rating on the Rockets. It’s all happening.

Jalen Williams

18 PTS | 0-3 3PT | 8 REB | 3 AST | 5-10 2PT | 8-9 FT | 38 MIN

🔸Jalen is just too strong - scoring through contact on four drives to the rim and getting to the line repeatedly. The massive steal numbers from last season aren’t appearing yet, but he’s making up for it by shooting 95% at the free throw line.

Onyeka Okongwu

16 PTS | 0-1 3PT | 11 REB | 2 AST | 1 BLK | 6-7 2PT | 4-4 FT | 27 MIN

🔸Played over Capela against a small Wizards team and made the most of the opportunity. 5-6 at the rim in this one and is a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line this season. He’s improved from the line each season and there may be a BIG leap in progress here.

Scoot Henderson

11 PTS | 1-3 3PT | 7 AST | 3-7 2PT | 2-2 FT | 20 MIN

🔸Scoot left this one early with an ankle sprain and may miss some time, which is a shame because he was starting to turn it around after an awful start. Scoot is in the 99th percentile in self-created shots in the league - an unfathomable load to carry for a rookie - and he remains an elite dynasty asset.

Amen Thompson

4 PTS | 0-1 3PT | 1 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 1-2 2PT | 2-2 FT | 13 MIN

🔸Amen is going to miss a few weeks with a Grade 2 ankle sprain. With a slow start and now an injury, that buy-low window is wide open. Shoot your shot and see if you can land an elite fantasy prospect.

Josh Giddey

15 PTS | 1-4 3PT | 9 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 5-12 2PT | 2-2 FT | 31 MIN

🔸Getting back into a groove after a slow start - the fantasy game is so strong that Giddey gives you helpful lines even when he’s inefficient from the field.

Jabari Smith Jr.

17 PTS | 3-5 3PT | 6 REB | 4 AST | 1 BLK | 4-5 2PT | 30 MIN

🔸Jabari feasted on a steady diet of catch-and-shoot jumpers - and while we aren’t seeing a big expansion of his offensive game, he’s been much better at the rim (69.2%) and looks infinitely more confident on the court.

Ausar Thompson

16 PTS | 0-3 3PT | 7 REB | 2 AST | 2 STL | 8-11 2PT |

🔸Ausar’s career-high 16 PTS came on a nice mix of drives to the rim, transition alley oops, put-backs and cuts. Yes - he’s 1-10 from three this season, but the positive indicator is that he keeps shooting and - even if he doesn’t shoot long-term - the fantasy production is already here.

Dereck Lively II

7 PTS | 13 REB | 6 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK | 3-5 2PT | 1-4 FT | 33 MIN

🔸Lively racked up 7 offensive rebounds against the Bulls and had a few eye-opening assists that showed feel beyond his years. Most importantly, he avoided foul trouble while still contesting 15(!!) shots and was rewarded with huge minutes. It won’t be consistent, but this is better than anyone expected.

Jalen Green

23 PTS | 4-8 3PT | 4 REB | 3 AST | 2 STL | 2-8 2PT | 7-7 FT | 31 MIN

🔸The threes, steals and free throw volume are exactly what we need to see from Green. Going 1-5 at the rim and 1-3 from midrange is exactly what we are tired of seeing. Still, this is a positive step in the right direction for a player who needs to find consistency.

Mark Williams

9 PTS | 6 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 2 BLK | 3-4 2PT | 3-6 FT | 25 MIN

🔸Steve Clifford has said that Williams is on a temporary minutes limit as he comes back from offseason surgery - so expect bigger minutes in the coming weeks. Williams’ steal rate was strong last season and is off to a great start again (77th percentile).

Jaden Ivey

10 PTS | 1-3 3PT | 2 REB | 2 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 2-4 2PT | 3-3 FT | 22 MIN

🔸Monty Williams does not want Ivey playing big minutes right now - even with Burks, Morris and Bogdanovic out. This won’t last forever and Jaden’s shooting progression - 42.1% from three and 87.5% from the free throw line - is eye opening (albeit a small sample). We are holding and acquiring from panicking managers.

Keegan Murray

10 PTS | 0-7 3PT | 6 REB | 3 AST | 2 STL | 4-8 2PT | 2-2 FT | 39 MIN

🔸Ice cold from three against the Warriors but the rest of the stat line is where we want it to be. Expect a big bounceback against the Rockets on Saturday.

Walker Kessler

4 PTS | 4 REB | 2 BLK | 1-4 2PT | 2-4 FT | 18 MIN

🔸Kessler is being largely ignored in the Jazz offense - coming in at 8th in touches on the team. The Grizzlies have been strong defending the interior but this was a blowout where Kessler still couldn’t get going. The rebound and block rates should improve but it’s been a rough regression from an awesome second half last season.

Brandon Miller

10 PTS | 1-3 3PT | 5 REB | 2 AST | 3-6 2PT | 1-2 FT | 24 MIN

🔸Alabama didn’t allow Miller to shoot midrange jumpers but it’s returned as a huge part of his shot profile across the preseason and first four games (12-28 across 8 games). Really encouraged by Miller shooting 71.4% at the rim so far after struggling to finish in college and Summer League.

Jalen Johnson

8 PTS | 0-2 3PT | 11 REB | 2 AST | 3-5 2PT | 2-2 FT | 24 MIN

🔸Came off the bench and had a quieter night but we are still holding and acquiring in all formats. This kid has barely scratched the surface of his potential and you will regret it deeply if you trade him away.

Austin Reaves

15 PTS | 0-3 3PT | 7 REB | 7 AST | 3 STL | 5-10 2PT | 5-5 FT | 38 MIN

🔸Still shooting 21.1% from three on the season, but got hot from midrange against the Clippers and displayed some of the playmaking that we saw while LeBron was out in the second half last year.

Keyonte George

9 PTS | 1-4 3PT | 1 REB | 3 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 3-4 FT | 23 MIN

George played 19 minutes through the competitive portion of this game - similar to THT (who was a team-worst +2 on the court in this blowout). Only a matter of time until the Jazz hand the starting PG job to Keyonte.

Deni Avdija

22 PTS | 2-4 3PT | 5 REB | 3 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK | 8-12 2PT | 0-1 FT | 24 MIN

🔸If Deni can hit corner threes like this and finish at the rim at this level (6-8, 95th percentile rim attempt volume this season), his rebounding and plus-sized playmaking could turn him into a consistent fantasy star. The minutes have been suppressed by lopsided scores but there appears to be real growth here.

Jarace Walker

8 PTS | 0-1 3PT | 2 REB | 3 AST | 1 BLK | 4-5 2PT | 12 MIN

🔸These were all garbage time minutes but there’s hope for Walker to climb into the rotation is Obi Toppin continues to underwhelm. Hit a couple of nice floaters and sees the court well as a passer - I remain very bullish on Walker long-term.

Immanuel Quickley

18 PTS | 0-3 3PT | 6 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 7-13 2PT | 4-6 FT | 28 MIN

🔸Quickley had his trademark floater working in this one and had a nice finish at the rim over a Mobley contest. He’s also posting the highest assist rate (26.2%) of his career. The best is yet to come for Quickley and you should acquire him before he becomes a starting PG.

Bennedict Mathurin

8 PTS | 0-3 3PT | 1 REB | 4-4 2PT | 15 MIN

🔸Played through an elbow injury. His 25% three point shooting this season is a continuation of what we saw most of last year. We need to see Mathurin’s game expand and it might not happen this season.

Jonathan Kuminga

12 PTS | 1-2 3PT | 1 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 3-7 2PT | 3-3 FT | 17 MIN

🔸This might be where Kuminga’s minutes sit while the Warriors are fully healthy. He’s self-creating half of his shots (up 20% from last season) and that’s why we need to be patient - the high ceiling remains.

Cason Wallace

4 PTS | 2 REB | 1 AST | 1-2 2PT | 2-2 FT | 18 MIN

🔸Hit a nice midranger on an inbound pass from SLOB Wizard Josh Giddey. The offensive role is non-existent (9.1% usage) but his defensive impact is already there as a rookie. A bright future ahead.

Dyson Daniels

8 PTS | 1-6 3PT | 4 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 2 BLK

🔸Career-high six 3PT attempts for Dyson who was left wide-open by OKC but kept firing. The shot isn’t broken and I trust shooting coach Fred Vinson to make him viable on catch-and-shoot attempts by next season (remember what he did for Lonzo Ball). A steal, two blocks, four deflections and eight contested shots in this one - Daniels remains an elite defensive disruptor.

Bilal Coulibaly

5 PTS | 1-4 3PT | 3 REB | 3 AST | 3 STL | 1-1 2PT | 0-2 FT | 28 MIN

🔸Getting up wide open threes with confidence and disrupting on the other end with three steals. This is the kind of role we can expect for Coulibaly’s rookie season - patience is needed but I think he’s going to be more than a 3-and-D role player with time.

Cam Thomas

13 PTS | 2-7 3PT | 2 REB | 1 AST | 3 STL | 1 BLK | 2-12 2PT | 3-4 FT | 34 MIN

🔸Thomas’ efficiency came crashing back to earth in this one but the minutes held and his improved defensive activity has led to five steals in the Nets’ first four games. Most importantly? Thomas passed significantly more in this game - nearly doubling his total pass count on the season.

Gradey Dick

5 PTS | 1-8 3PT | 1 REB | 1-2 2PT | 21 MIN

🔸Dick is shooting 26.3% from three on an elite 9.5 attempts per 75 possessions - expect those shots to start falling soon. The bigger headline is that he continues to eat into Gary Trent Jr.’s playing time and it feels like Trent may be shipped out of Toronto by the trade deadline to open up a larger role for Gradey going forward.

Patrick Williams

0 PTS | 0-5 3PT | 3 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 0-1 2PT | 25 MIN

🔸Williams has seven steals in five games but has been a zero offensively and it feels like Donovan could start spreading some of his minutes to Craig and Caruso.

Peyton Watson

4 PTS | 0-1 3PT | 2 REB | 1 AST | 2-2 2PT | 16 MIN

A quiet night for Watson who is now shooting 90% at the rim, 75% from midrange, and 36.4% from three with a 95th percentile block rate. Feed this man more minutes!

Jaden Hardy

9 PTS | 1-2 3PT | 1 REB | 1 AST | 5-6 FT | 14 MIN

Hardy was back in the rotation with Kyrie out but it looks like his minutes could be scarce if the Mavs insist on fitting Seth Curry and Dante Exum into the rotation. I still like Hardy as a potential future starting SG.

Andrew Nembhard

14 PTS | 1-7 3PT | 2 REB | 1 AST | 5-10 2PT | 1-2 FT | 20 MIN

🔸Nembhard was on track for big minutes with Haliburton out but hit the bench near the beginning of the fourth quarter for garbage time. Third on this team in touches - his on-ball role is established and should make him a solid AST contributor, even off the bench.

Aaron Nesmith

🔸Played slightly more than Toppin before garbage time full set in and appears to have the full endorsement of Rick Carlisle. Getting up a career-high 7.9 3PT attempts per 75 possessions. Nesmith is going to be a fixture of the IND rotation for years to come.

Day’Ron Sharpe

5 PTS | 7 REB | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 2-3 2PT | 1-2 FT | 13 MIN

🔸Sharpe’s role remains limited but he’s averaging 18.2 points and 14.7 rebounds per 36 minutes and is still 21 years old. This is the kind of backup big that we stash because the production will be massive if the minutes ever arrive.

AJ Griffin

0 PTS | 0-2 3PT | 12 MIN

🔸The Hawks were -14 with Griffin on the floor but his limited minutes have been solid across the Hawks prior three games. Griffin turned 20 before the season and deserves our patience after some impressive flashes last season.

Moses Moody

1 PTS | 0-2 3PT | 3 REB | 1 BLK | 0-1 2PT | 1-2 FT | 15 MIN

🔸Going to be hard for Moody to find enough minutes while the Warriors are healthy, but I remain optimistic on his long-term outlook based on the defensive improvement this season.

Isaiah Jackson

7 PTS | 3 REB | 1 AST | 4 BLK | 3-5 2PT | 1-2 FT | 19 MIN

🔸Jalen Smith was out and the game got out of hand early, so we saw extended minutes from Jackson who reminded us that he can block shots like no other. It’s probably back to the bench once Smith returns but Isaiah remains a dynasty stash in hopes that he finds a consistent role.

Jaime Jaquez Jr.

2 PTS | 0-6 3PT | 4 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK | 19 MIN

🔸Started for an injured Kevin Love in this one and you could see that continuing as the season goes on if he continues to get threes up at this volume (a huge change from his time at UCLA).

Bones Hyland

4 PTS | 0-3 3PT | 1 REB | 5 AST | 1 STL | 2-4 2PT | 34 MIN

🔸I never thought I’d see the day where Bones Hyland had only seven shots in 34 minutes of action, but he showed incredible restraint in this one. Minutes will obviously come down to 14-16 a game once Harden and Mann are available.

Christian Braun

8 PTS | 0-1 3PT | 9 REB | 2 AST | 1 BLK | 4-7 2PT | 20 MIN

🔸Braun has doubled his offensive AND defensive rebounding rates so far this season which would be a huge development for his stat set if it holds. Braun’s attempts at the rim are also way up (7.6 attempts per 75 possessions) as he continues to improve as a cutter and on drives.

Toumani Camara

7 PTS | 7 REB | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 2-3 2PT | 3-3 FT | 26 MIN

🔸Chauncey Billups loves Toumani Camara and we are seeing why - the robust fantasy production from Dayton is translating to the NBA and he honestly should be playing over Thybulle at this point. Make sure he’s not available in your league because Camara is looking like every bit of a top 200 dynasty asset.

Max Christie Jr.

5 PTS | 1-5 3PT | 3 REB | 0-2 2PT | 2-2 FT | 22 MIN

🔸Finally in the rotation with most of the Lakers’ bench inactive and he made an immediate defensive impact - registering 9 deflections and contesting 7 shots in 22 minutes. I think Max ends up in the Lakers’ rotation by the second half.

Payton Pritchard

15 PTS | 2-3 3PT | 4 REB | 9 AST | 4-7 2PT | 1-1 FT | 26 MIN

🔸Most of this production came in garbage time but it’s a nice reminder of the kind of stats that Pritchard can put out in expanded minutes.

Jordan Hawkins

10 PTS | 2-13 3PT | 6 REB | 5 AST | 2 STL | 2-6 2PT | 37 MIN

🔸No - that’s not a typo - Hawkins got up 13 3PT attempts in 37 minutes with Brandon Ingram sitting out. The Pelicans need the spacing that Hawkins provide and he could maintain a minor rotation role even after Ingram, Murphy, Alvarado and Marshall return. The five assists were charitably granted by the scorekeeper and I won’t expect that kind of production going forward.

Marcus Sasser

8 PTS | 0-1 3PT | 3 REB | 6 AST | 4 STL | 1 BLK | 4-5 2PT | 23 MIN

🔸The Pistons got dragged for trading up to get Sasser, but this is the kind of winning player that he is. I think he becomes a big part of the Pistons’ rotation as the season goes on because he satisfies Monty Williams’ desire for defensive effort while also being a strong volume 3PT shooter.

Andre Jackson Jr.

2 PTS | 1 REB | 3 AST | 1 STL | 1-1 2PT | 6 MIN

🔸Not in the rotation yet, but don’t forget that this kid has the potential to be a per-minute fantasy monster if he gets minutes. Stash in deep formats and wait for his time.

Julian Strawther

5 PTS | 1-6 3PT | 1 STL | 2 BLK | 1-1 2PT | 0-1 FT | 16 MIN

🔸Strawther’s hot shooting in the preseason hasn’t carried over but it’s nice to see the volume and the defensive stats.

Ziaire Williams

8 PTS | 2-5 3PT | 4 REB | 2 BLK | 2-2 FT

🔸This game got away from Memphis early, limiting Ziaire’s minutes but he continues to shoot the three with confidence and the two recovery blocks on Clarkson floaters were impressive.

Davion Mitchell

13 PTS | 3-6 3PT | 3 REB | 4 AST | 3 STL | 2-3 2PT | 30 MIN

🔸A strong spot start but it sounds like Fox may return as soon as Saturday - which means Mitchell goes back to a limited rotation role..

Johnny Davis

7 PTS | 0-1 3PT | 3 STL | 3-5 2PT | 1-1 FT | 10 MIN

🔸Davis should see more minutes if Kispert misses time. I remain skeptical of him becoming fantasy relevant in his career but he looked smooth scoring on a couple of drives in garbage time.

James Wiseman

4 PTS | 2 REB | 1 AST | 2-4 2PT | 6 MIN

🔸Had an opportunity with Duren out and then earned four fouls in 6 minutes of action. It’s not happening for Wiseman in Detroit and, while I think he gets another chance elsewhere, the hope is that he maybe becomes a viable backup with time, not a starter.

Marjon Beauchamp

8 PTS | 2-5 3PT | 2 REB | 2-2 FT | 16 MIN

🔸Shooting 50% from three in the early going (and had similar efficiency and volume in the preseason), which is a huge positive development for him to maintain a rotation role long-term. Yet to register a steal this year, which needs to be part of his stat set to be fantasy relevant.

Ben Sheppard

6 PTS | 2-4 3PT | 2 REB | 2 AST | 15 MIN

🔸Sheppard won’t be in the Pacers’ rotation anytime soon but could see an expanded role when the Pacers move on from Buddy Hield. Shot 41.5% from three in his senior year at Belmont on 6 attempts per game. Needs to fill out his 6’6” frame, but there’s potential here.

Kira Lewis

5 PTS | 1-2 3PT | 2 STL | 1-2 2PT | 10 MIN

🔸The former lottery pick has had a snakebit three seasons in the NBA but has been giving the Pels some solid minutes with Alvarado out. I still think he can be a solid rotation guard on his next contract.

Craig Porter Jr.

4 PTS | 1 REB | 1 STL | 1-1 2PT | 2-2 FT | 11 MIN

🔸Nice to see Porter Jr. rewarded with more minutes after his outstanding performance on Tuesday. Stash him in deep formats because the fantasy stat set is eye-popping.

Vince Williams Jr.

12 PTS | 1-4 3PT | 2 REB | 3 AST | 1 STL | 3 BLK | 1-1 2PT | 7-8 FT | 16 MIN

🔸My pre-draft modeling LOVED Williams Jr. coming out of VCU because of exactly this kind of box score stuffing. These were all garbage time minutes and he won’t be in the rotation this year but he’s probably available in 30-team leagues and should not be.

James Newman

Hey man. Great report. Any thoughts on Killian Hayes? Thinking about dropping him at this point to stream pretty much anyone else. He’s crushing my fg% and providing nothing else. Love your stuff - keep it up!
