Weekly Wrap-Up #5 - White Lavender (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

It's been a few weeks since we have done a wrap-up, so this time it's more like a monthly wrap-up I suppose!

Tijmen came back from vacation where he went to see a climbing competition in Switzerland.

Tijmen also decided to archive his deckbuilding roguelike project we talked about before, the reason being a design issue:

"i realized that the game is a dungeon crawler where you'd HAVE to move around to actually progress, but since your movements were limited by the cards that you drew, this had a lot of potential to become a frustrating contradiction.
I suppose you could eliminate the need to move around, but in that case the game would turn more and more into Toverblade, which I was trying to avoid."

He has now started working on another idea that we'll talk about in the future.

Tom is working very hard on his next game: White Lavender (a bugs life soulslike)

The game is becoming his biggest Patreon game yet, and hence it is taking a bit longer to finish. The release will be pushed to end of May probably. However, for the first time we'll make a demo available for patrons! More information about that soon.

"i think it's the perfect game to release in the spring, because it's a colorful adventure full of plants and insects. it's been awhile since i have made an adventure game like this.
the game is a bit of a spiritual successor to Ginseng Hero, which i made about 2 years ago, but now mixed with a bit of Brume, and maybe even some Hellblusser. it's been a lot of fun pouring in so much hours in this project. i think it can become my best game yet!" - Tom

Meanwhile Aran has started working on updates for his latest Patreon game: Stacklands, which has initially become a great success!

Ruben is working on Deer Hunter III that is planned to release after White Lavender.
