NIKI (Patreon)

The Nanoelectronic Intranet for Knothole's Indemnification, or NIKI, is a private network created for the sole purpose of intercepting foreign technologies in cyberspace.

A highly advanced AI of the same name, the feline avatar generally executes commands and relays information given from Freedom Fighter elites. Due to the organization's covert nature, NIKI utilized biometric scans to identify verified users and could not be accessed by anyone outside of the Freedom Fighter ranks.

Though NIKI is incredibly lifelike and has the capacity to learn and adapt to outside stimuli, she is still only a hologram. "Phase" was a trojan created by the Celestial Cell to bypass NIKI altogether and disrupt the Freedom Fighter's endeavors. However NIKI's ability to adapt and change resulted in her overclocking and devouring Phase--which inevitably lead to her corruption.  

With NIKI disabled, Knothole is left defenseless and the Freedom Fighters lose contact with their various members, making the blind FF agents easily to dispatch.  With no use since the Freedom Fighters disappeared, NIKI fell into severe disrepair, and was later discovered and repurposed by MeteoTech to create a commercialized AI companion "MyNiki"  who is capable of interfacing with all of MeteoTechs smart appliances and automatons.

MyNiki  has since become an immensely popular derivative, while the original program remains inert in the deep dark depths of MeteoTech's Mad Matrix.
