"I need to shut up" lol!! At first, I got frustrated with Michael Dugdale too, but that moment in the final scene confirms he used his own ID on purpose to be underestimated so he is not as dumb as he seems. Ian is naive, true, but don't hold that against him too much. He never believed any of this stuff from the start so he still has the most adjusting to do out of all of them. Remember that he said he was into Utopia for the artwork and story, not the conspiracies like Wilson and Becky. Meanwhile, Bejan lost his life, Wilson lost his eye, Becky lost her dad to Deels, Grant lost his innocence, but Ian has lost nothing so far. Even though he can see all of those things happening, it still hasn't hit home for him yet. The great irony is that we saw how much he hated his boring life and job, but now that he's thrown into all this chaos and excitement he desperately wants to go back to the way things were. There are so many other things that I want to mention that you brought up, but it's just better for you to wait and see. You are now half way through Season 1 and 1/4 of the way through the whole series! :) Btw, you brought up the Back Rooms again which reminded me that I just saw a trailer on YouTube the other night for a Back Rooms movie being made by A24 Studios. Did you know about that? It looks interesting.

Oh my goodness i didnt even think he couldve used his real ID on purpose. Ok ok I can see your very good points. I didn't think of it like that for Ian but that makes perfectly good sense. I guess in my head seeing all that around me would put me on alert because at this point it seems like they have infinite reach. Yes! I'm very excited for it and i'm happy its A24 making it so i have hope itll be good lol

2024-03-21 03:31:22 You asked how far he was when he went up to Shetland from London. It's about 890 miles from the Department of Health in London to Fetlar in the Shetland Islands. That's a lot in UK distances, about as far from London as he could go and still be in the UK. The Shetland Islands are far North off the top of Scotland, about halfway to Norway. If a flu was coming from Russia via birds or something it'd make sense I guess. The show is certainly more unnerving to me than normal suspense/thriller type TV. I think its because they're all a bit goofy they seem more "real" than usual TV characters. Like they're real people in a comic book world, instead of the usual TV style of comic book people in the real world.

That's an interesting perspective about the real people in a comic book world. Never thought about it like that before, but I agree. It also doesn't help that the plot is still quite relative to real life even though it's definitely a comic book world lol. It makes everything just tangible enough to make you wonder.
