So it's day 10 of a scheduled 20 editing days for Random Rising Storm Vietnam Bullshittery (part 2). And here's an update on how things are going.

Despite a bit of an inefficient start, I was able to give myself a kick up the backside and get things back up to speed.  Skipping a couple of streams this week to really knuckle-down on editing.

A quick shot of the timeline:

The play head is currently resting about the 6 minute and 44 second mark out of about 10 minutes. Though some of those sequences are not as complete as others and I need to do some finishing work. Notably masking when text moves behind another object, creating the illusion that it's part of the action.

The main editing process involves a lot of trimming and tightening, which has presented an almost 2 minute gap. But that's not really a problem as I can add plenty of other clips in the 3rd or 4th week to bring it back up to an optimal 10 minutes.

The final scene is pretty set in stone, concerning what happened when ZF commissioned their own beer for clan consumption (the aptly named "Shit Creek"). But I'm certainly leaving that until the end as I've not fully decided how much animation that one is going to include yet.

I mentioned in the previous update that there might be a couple of opportunities to use the same Dungeons & Dragons-style animation puppets. And I think I'm going to do that, just keeping it simpler to save time. We banter about topics unrelated to Vietnam (as we tend to do in teamspeak), and such scenes are better complimented by short cutaway animations rather than anything the G.I.'s are doing at the time. Such as when DigitalVagrant tried to convince us that voodoo is a thing. And walked us through the process, since he'd "taken classes on voodoo".

I may do the final ending scene in a similar style with similar puppets. Or just use steam icons for the people speaking in TS. Not fully decided yet.

But so far everything is progressing as expected. Hoping to have it ready within 10 days. Though I still need to commission 2-3 art pieces and get in touch with some artists. Hope you're all having a lovely start to your March. And as always, thank you for your generous support.
