Aaaaaaand all done folks. The latest bullshittery is ready for your viewing and can be found here. Random Rising Storm 2: Vietnam Bullshittery - https://youtu.be/8ID4JBkjXMk

So sorry this one took as long as it did. It was an unexpectedly difficult slog that didn't seem to have any easy bits throughout. Both in locating all the useful scenes and in animating the effects.

So to breakdown the overall project:

 • Week 1 & 2 - Pre-production work, going through the streams that had been archived and finding all the necessary clips that can be used, resulting in about 200 of them. More than enough for multiple bullshitteries of Rising Storm is desired.
 • Week 3 - Mostly taken up by familial obligations over the Christmas period. But some cutting was done.
 • Week 4-5 - Cutting stages, utilising about 60 of these clips with about 150 After Effects compositions. The cutting did actually prove harder than usual due to the number of fast montage'esk scenes, which often occurred weeks apart. Maintaining consistency during said scenes was difficult. I opted to use quite a few audio layers from unrelated combat scenes in order to hide obvious cuts that would break flow.
 • Week 6-7 - Primarily editing and animating of various moving text. Masking was also harder than usual on this since it was rarely a simple wall or object, but an entire G.I running past the camera. The edges of which are quite complicated. The same can be said for the contours of the gun in the player characters hands.
 • Week 8 - Finishing of editing and mostly quality assurance. Fixing errors or generally applying polish or rework.

As always, if you have any comments, feedback or questions you're welcome to leave them below or on the video. I'll happily hover over the next couple of days and answer them all. And thank you again for your support. I'll get back to you soon on ideas for the next video.

Wow! That video was hilarious. Can't really say which part was my favourite, there were so many really awesome ones. Kinda missed Nevil in this game though :D

I love the video, but it sort of ends abruptly after fade to black. Could you put skyrim opening meme ending or something, similar to this video? That's just a suggestion. Otherwise, awesome. Nice work, one of the best videos you made so far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBXvK8ADi0w

So interestingly enough, the reason for the cartoon was that Quebec was almost always playing in the commander role. Which means he wasn't physically infront of me to subtitle properly. Hence why the avatar insert idea was created.

Chariots of fire then? :) https://youtu.be/CSav51fVlKU?t=1m4s Although I feel that you can put chariots of fire on every running scene ever, so I might be a bit biased. Seriously though, love the racist bell and it getting broken from overuse after a while. You're getting better and better at this awesome thing I cannot do and I feel honored to be able to watch your progress.

Can we get the uncensored version?

Haha! Love it Soviet very funny! The racist bell montage had me in hysterics! As an idea accidental RPG backblast kills are hilarious, if you 'mistakingly' kill some of the ZF guys that way it'd make for some funny footage for part 2. ;)

I must say that was fucking brilliant, However if we ever go to war and the ZF clan enlists into the army can we just agree to surrender

You have yet to disappoint. Great work as always!

Well done, always magnificent work from you 😊 The amount of patience you have to painstakingly get that to flow so smoothly is incredible 👍🏽 Are you self taught with AE & the editing? Just curious, not criticising, your sense of sense of humour & timing are impeccable 🙏🏽

Many thanks for the compliments. Yes indeed. Though a brief dip into Youtube tutorials reveals that there's so much you can do with After Effects, and I'm really only doing some fairly basic things just repeated until they're smooth. One of the things I have been keen to avoid is mixing up the formula with things that are new and stylish, and end up sacrificing the 'keep it simple' subtitles that underpin much of the readability. But nevertheless there's still so much I need to learn as I go.

You’re doing marvellously, the little details like the words on fire after Digby exploding, glorious.

Now that I finally found time to watch the new Video I must say, I was very pleased with it. The only thing I did not really like was that every "slow-motion" scene was after the other. I think if they would have been a bit more spread out, that would have been a bit nicer. Nevertheless, still a fantastic video as usuall. Keep it up.

I have to say soviet this was by far one of my favorite videos from you. I particularly loved how you animated quebec in the asmr moments.
