Good evening everybody. I've managed to complete the first chunk of that Sons of the Forest video. I've made an Unlisted link for you here. Sorry that this took ages. I was hoping to have it by last Friday. But I ended the week with about 60 issues that had to get worked through - https://youtu.be/QOQ716pGVmQ

So this segments consists of parts 2 to 15 (of 40).. intentionally skipping the Introduction to get right to it, with strong emphasis on setting up elements of the story and making comparisons to the prior Forest game.

I do worry that might end up having a bit of 'middle child syndrome' - as in lots of meandering in the form of setting up story elements. But it ends on two analysis segments - the "See-Saw of quality" and the "logic of a sequel". So hopefully the conclusion is entertaining.

Naturally, feedback is welcome. Though there's quite a number of things that are rough, so I've no doubt you'll notice. Feedback concerning points not well made would be the most helpful. So I can better revise my words to articulate the points I'm trying to make. And thank you for it.

There's probably about 10 minutes of the voicework I'd like to re-do in order to make it all consistent to the ear. And there's a lot of chunks missing visuals, or after effects keyframing work. As I've highlighted during the rendering/checking.

Thanks again for your patience all.

The next part should be parts 16 to 22. And needs to consist of the following pieces, in a shorter 30 minute segment. I plan to jump into it immediately.

  • Introduction to the cannibal types - observations about their nature (clothing, etc)

  • Finding the "Entertainment Bunker" and the story implications.

  • A second cannibal base visit - exploring their advanced behaviours.

  • The true mutants - and their story implications in SotF.

  • The introduction to the material "Solarfite" and it's apparent properties here.

  • The presence of the 70's Christians and their relationship with the Solarfite/island.

  • Analysis on the aforementioned "problem of scale". And how SotF seems to take steps to correct it with intentional story beats.

With that many rocks, would be nice if one of them was Clive.
