Re: Museums, I think it’s hard to appreciate a lot of it if you don’t know how to produce the work you’re seeing. I always loved sculptures, but until I got trained as a visual artist, I didn’t have anything to do when seeing a painting besides taking a look and decide I liked it or not. I was only entertained once I had stuff to analyze.

I’m laughing out loud because I just got to the part where Erin was like, “visual artists are putting down their paintbrushes right now…” while I’m currently painting work to sell 🤣 I only put down my brush to comment lol. I do often ponder my contribution to consumer culture as an artist though, but I haven’t come up with a solution yet lol
