Here's the first 10 minutes of an upcoming video on The Boys! This one will end up being about 90 minutes long, and it's mostly there. However, for sponsor reasons, it needs to be uploaded on the 15th November so it'll be a while before it goes live.

i'm nodding along the whole time you're speaking, mert. i loved the boys season 1 because of the breakdown of the superhero mythos, especially in regards to hughie's disillusionment with superheroes. In a way, its an updated version of Watchmen, taking the stereotypes we see nowadays and distilling them into, well, awful parodies. and antony starr is *definitely* the breakout here. but i couldn't get myself to watch more than half of season 2, so i'm very interested in this video to see what your take is, and if it agrees with my own.

The writers seem to have fallen into the same pit as most other creatives in Hollywood. They're no longer willing to get out of their own way and let the work speak for itself. They feel a need to bludgeon the viewers in order to be certain all the benighted cretins are grasping the wisdom the writers have seen fit to share.

Absolutely agree, the initial satire is still seen in dribs and drabs but the show falls into so many of the trappings that it's trying to mock. The writers have struggled to maintain any kind of nuance

Ooo I'm happy and intrigued to hear it! If you didn't touch Season 3 I'm excited for you to see how it all unfolds. I struggled hard through 3 and was very disappointed so it'll be nice to get some shared catharsis ;D
