Don’t know if you caught it, but when her friend says that she has a mutation you can hear the x men animated series theme in the background. This is basically marvel’s way to start introducing mutants and the x men into the mcu.

Kamala is the first person to be called a mutant in the MCU which is really important for the future

What I loved the most about this episode was seeing Kamala’s friends following along her plan, the community including the cops stepping in to help her, and Yusuf’s heart-to-heart which gave rise to Kamala’s superhero codename Ms. Marvel. The term “embiggen” is Kamala’s signature move. Originally, it allowed her to grow up to the size of a giant similar to Ant-Man. Just like him though, she can’t maintain a giant form for long. When Bruno said mutation, you can hear a sample of the intro to X-Men: The Animated Series. (Just a little reminder: there’s a continuation premiering early next year. It’ll be under the name X-Men ‘97.) In the comics, Kamala was originally supposed to be a mutant. They wanted to include her in the MCU at some point, but at the time they were creating her 20th Century Fox still owned the character film rights to X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four. So they decided to increase her chances of appearing in the MCU by writing her as an inhuman. However, after Disney acquired Fox, they were finally able to move forward with the original plan. I think by the time you two are fully caught up in the New Year, the Marvels will be available for streaming. While we wait, Iman Vellani herself took part in co-writing a new limited comic run for her character. It’s called Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant. The fourth and final issue will be published in two weeks from today. Now that you made it this far, I can tell you about an upcoming animated show called Marvel Zombies. It takes place in the zombie apocalypse dimension from What If season 1 and it follows the events of that same episode. It’s gonna be TV-MA (17+) since they promised it’ll have way more gore. The reason I bring this up is because Ms. Marvel is the most recent MCU character who will join a zombie resistance. The rest of the lineup confirmed so far consists of the following: Jimmy Woo Yelena Belova Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian Shang-Chi His best friend Katy Chen Death Dealer (the Ten Rings operative with the white mask) And last but not least, Kate Bishop. The first season of Marvel Zombies will consist of four episodes slated to drop sometime next year.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the narrative in this show, but I loved the characters. The villian is VERY forgettable and the overall plot is meh, but Kamala and her family are so awesome. Also, that bit at the end where Bruno was talking about Kamala having a mutation was implying that Kamala is the first Mutant in the MCU. If you remember, Mutants are from X-Men and they even played a bit of the X-Men theme song in that scene also implying that Kamala might be a part of the X-Men later on in the MCU. Anyways, enjoyed the reaction guys :)

Yea I know and that’s true which is why I hated it lol plus I wasn’t a fan of the story or any of it but I just feel like they would like the story at least

40:55 Like others have pointed out this is the first mention of the term Mutation in the MCU, Hinting at Kamala being a Mutant. This is basically confirmed at 40:57 when they played a tiny bit of the X-Men Animated Series theme song so she's the first confirmed Mutant in the MCU. This doesn't mean that we've never seen Mutants, characters like Wanda, Quicksilver etc. They could've easily been Mutants the whole time we just never had any mention of it. Just a matter of how Marvel will introduce the X-Men into the MCU and explain the lack X-Men. Within the MCU the term Mutants was only ever mentioned once in a deleted Nick Fury scene from Iron Man (2008) where Fury mentioned a bunch of interesting nods to future hero's like Radioactive Bug Bits a hint to Spider-Man, Gamma Accidents a hint to the Hulk, and Assorted Mutants a clear nod to the X-Men and Mutants in general. But like I said it was removed from the film as Fox owned the rights at the time, maybe they filmed this take hoping that they'd allow it in the film.
