I can already seeing shoshana not liking this because of it being a highschool kid and being immature, but there’s no difference between Ms marvel and Spider-Man when it comes to age and the back ground of being in highschool. I hope she learns to like her because she’s great:/

I gave this show two tries in the last year and I wasn’t with it but over the weekend I gave it another try and I absolutely loved it. I’m not sure why but I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did. It only took 3 tries 😅😅😅

Whoa. Two episodes in one day? Nice! This is Iman Vellani’s first major acting role. She heard about the auditions through her aunt. Iman originally didn’t want to become an actress, but she decided to take a chance and audition since she grew up reading the Ms. Marvel comics. In fact, she cosplayed as Ms. Marvel for Halloween a few years ago. She even got her grandma to sew the signature lightning bolt to her costume. On her last day of senior year, she got a call from casting director Sarah Halley Finn saying she needed her in a video chat. Next thing Iman knew, she was talking with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and the producers and directors of the show. Kevin himself said it was a unanimous decision. In the comics, Kamala is an Inhuman who can stretch her limbs. They changed the origins and function of her powers in the MCU for two reasons: 1.) She would have been too similar to Mr. Fantastic. 2.) Her idol is Captain Marvel who specializes in cosmic energy.

It's unfortunate that the toxicity has already started in these comments (and unfortunate that I'm seeing the same names being toxic). The series has two very strong things going for it. First, it's so incredibly charming...the lead, the family dynamic, the energy. All so good. Second, the presentation of a culture and a period that is severely overlooked. The Partition is such a giant historic event, and barely gets a mention in most curricula. What it has going against it is Clan Destine. Everything involving them and their threat should have been totally expunged from the story, as it all really amounts to nothing. A very unfortunate issue that sinks the middle of the series pretty severely.

The family & culture are what make this show so endearing to watch. The lead is perfect for the role too. Good timing also as I watched The Marvels in the cinemas just yesterday which was cool.
