Like most biopics, it stinks. You cannot fully capture the worth of real people that lived, their contributions to mankind, or their complexities as a human being through a two-hour movie written and made by people whose sole purpose is to entertain, not inform. Furthermore, the film is obviously a vanity project for Beyonce, seeing as how the Etta James role was written with her in mind and she's a producer. If you really want to learn more about Etta James, or Chess Records in general, listen to the wealth of music that is available or read the book Etta wrote with David Ritz, Rage to Survive. There are also many other sources of information out there about Leonard Chess and the other musicians that made up the Chess roster.
