Sum: Natsu and Gajeel are two dragon slayers of Phantom, they have a strong bond but things are shaken up when Phantom attacks Fairy Tail.

Chap 1 The Fire Dragon Slayer of Phantom

Natsu Dragneel joined Phantom Lord when he was a kid, he only joined the guild because Master Jose promised him he would help find Igneel as long as he swore loyalty to the guild. Plus he needed to learn more about magic and make money, so to him it was like beating up three bad guys with one punch.

He did and have served them ever since. Phantom Lord was a powerful and wealthy guild having bases all over. Despite their vast numbers, wealth, and knowledge they were seen as the second strongest guild.

Though some might debate that. Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord were powerful guilds, both with talented wizards at their disposal. Jose didn’t like Makarov for some reason, and didn’t like that his guild was seen as second best. He was always trying to show up Fairy Tail and expected his guild members to do the same.

The fire dragon slayer didn’t share the guild’s dislike of Fairy Tail, they were an alright guild. A bunch of troublemakers, so he liked their spirit. He’d rather put his efforts into training and searching for Igneel.

He learned powerful fire magic, and became one of the strongest members in Phantom, even surpassing the element 4. Then Gajeel joined up, he was strong, handsome and cold. He only joined the guild to gain more power and to take missions, he had no real loyalty to Jose or anyone. A job was a job.

The iron dragon slayer often picked fights with Natsu to see who was the strongest. He defeated the element 4, proving his strength and abilities, but he could never beat him. Natsu’s flames were overwhelming, and he could be as passionate and wild as his flames. Dragneel pushed the raven haired wizard, pushing his skills and training. Jose approved, their rivalry kept both males getting stronger.

Gajeel felt his walls being broke down by the pink haired male, after Metalicana left him he refused to become attached to anyone, he refused to admit it was a fear. He put up walls, not wanting to get close to anyone. They’d just leave like his dragon did.

You’d think having a fellow dragon slayer around would cheer him up, but it didn’t.

Their shared past did not change anything, if anything it just drove Gajeel nuts trying to prove he was stronger than Dragneel. The two couldn’t sit down and have a conversation, as soon as they crossed paths Redfox would break something and a fight would break out.  It did suck fo the pinkette as he did like Gajeel, but the man didn’t seem to like him always lashing out and butting heads. While that could be fun, finally Natsu had enough. After one of their many fights he pinned Gajeel to the wall. “What are you so scared of?”

Jose kept comparing them to Fairy Tail and the fact there was any debate on which guild was better angered him to no end.

Natsu had a bad feeling about this, but he had a mission and he couldn’t cancel it.

While Natsu was away Gajeel attacked the Fairy Tail guild hall, it was a stunt to lure Lucy out of the guild, but that didn’t work. Jose wanted to force a conflict so they could take Lucy in the confusion. “We’ll just to have to hit them harder.” Jose ordered an attack on members of Fairy Tail, which Gajeel carried out.

He attacked Levi, Jet, and Droy, this meant war! That was what Jose wanted, while Makarov and Fairy Tail raged war, two of the element 4 captured Lucy.

Gajeel was waiting for the Fairy Tail wizards to attack. They busted into the guild hall with all the rage and fury. “Bout time you fairies showed up!” Redfox cracked his knuckles.

He started fighting Elfman and Gray, and was handling them both well. “Is this all you little fairies have to offer!?” he sent Elfman flying while blocking Gray’s ice attacks.

“This guy is a dragon slayer, and phantom lord has two of them?” Gray spoke, and readied another barrage of ice.

Gajeel chuckled. “My mate is out at the moment, but if he was here you little fairies would be ash in the blink of an eye!” He focused his power and turned his arm into a chain. He grabbed Gray and whipped him into Elfman.

The two got back up and tried to bring down Redfox, but not only was he a powerful mage, he was a skilled fighter. “An Ice Make wizard, and a Take Over wizard, is this the best you can do!” Elfman was only doing a single arm take over, despite being physically strong as a wizard he was lacking. Gray was a talented enough wizard, but his spells lacked punch against a dragon slayer of iron.

Erza led the charge and began taking out most of the phantom lord members. She soon ran into trouble clashing with Totomaru of the element 4. He was a skilled swordsman and had honed his fire magic to be able to make objects as well. His Rainbow Flare was forged into blades which he manipulated with pyromancy.

Meanwhile Aria of the element 4 got the jump on Makarov. He used his power and scattered Makarov’s magic to the winds, his body turned a sickly green. He was thrown back into the lobby. Seeing their master so weak and defeated it shook the fairy tail members. The tables were turned and they began to get over powered.

“We have to retreat!” Erza screamed, and this shocked everyone. “I know it hurts but we have to retreat for now!”

“Don’t let them get away!” the men roared and kept on their attack. Aria appeared shedding tears.

“Little Fairies, Lucy Heartfilia is in our possession.”

“What?!” they cried out. The phantom lord wizards put up a fierce attack and went the fairy tail wizards went to retreat, only to be met with a male covered in flames. “Natsu-sama!”

“Yes lord Salamander is here!” the men cheered, and Erza tensed.

‘This is the other dragon slayer?’ his eyes were like fiery embers. The heat pouring off him made the area around him feel like a sauna. The pressure of his magic reached far, showing just how terrifying he was.

‘This is bad, Master Makarov is in this state, and now this guy shows up.’ Gray thought.

The Phantom Members, hooted and hollered. “Get ‘em Lord Salamander!”

“Yeah crush those fairies!”

Natsu took a deep breath. “What the fuck is going on here?!” he roared shocking everyone.
