Max’s Quest of Hearts
Max was always impressed with his father, a powerful shielder in the King’s army. Goofy had been training Max to be a shielder like him, but Max’s interests have been shifting lately. He doesn’t have the heart to tell him, and now that he’s going off on a secret mission to find a keyblade master. It seems he’s missed his chance.

Chapter 1 Shielder or Mage

Max always looked up to his father, he was one of the King’s best soldiers and a talented Shielder. When he was old enough Goofy started training Max in the ways of the shield, but lately his interests kept leaning, shifting towards other things.

Goofy taught Max everything he knew about being a Shielder. The boy was a talent even coming up with shield tricks Goofy never thought of before. “That’s my boy!” He was so proud.

“One day you’ll be an amazing shielder, just like your old man!” Max kept a smile on his face.

“Yeah, sure dad!” He didn’t have it in his heart to tell him.

That his interests had shifted from shielding to something else. It wasn’t a problem at first, but the more he focused on what his father wanted for him, the more he yearned for what he was interested in.

He started getting distracted in combat practice. “What’s wrong Maxie?” Goofy checked on his son after failing to block an attack from a training dummy.

“It’s nothing I’m fine dad!” He got up quickly.

“You could have easily blocked that shot, are you sure you’re okay, not sick or something.” He checked Max’s forehead.

“Dad I’m fine, really!”

“Well you know how I worry.”

“I’m fine dad, you don’t have to worry about me so much.”

“Aww my tough little shielder.” Goofy pinched his cheek.

“Dad!” Goofy released him with a chuckle. Max rubbed his cheek.

“I gotta get going Maxie, King Mickey has an important mission for me and your Uncle Donald.”

“A mission? You are going on a quest?” Max asked excitedly.

“Sure am!”

“Can I go with you?” Goofy shook his head.

“You aren’t quite ready yet, but don’t worry once this mission is over. I’ll be back to give you your final test and you can be an official shielder!” He patted Max’s shoulder’s proudly.

“Great…” Max held a smile.

Goofy left and the boy hit the showers. ‘Oh man...how am I gonna tell him?’ This topic weighed on his heart more than any suit of armor or heavy shield could.

He had tried to bring it up once about a different career path, but Goofy had laughed it off, thinking it was a joke. Max’s confidence was shaken, and he hadn’t brought it up since.

In his room was a bunch of shields on the walls. He turned them around to reveal magical formulas and symbols.

Max pulled out some spell books and other nick knacks. Using some chalk he drew a magic circle on the floor and lit some candles. He sat in the center of the circle, breathing deeply as he meditated.

It had been years ago, his father and uncle were having a duel for King Mickey. His father was great, but Max couldn’t take his eyes of Donald’s magic. The way he cast spells and used magic was mesmerizing.

Donald had control over Fire, Ice, and Lightning, he even knew other unique spells like healing. Rumors spoke of him working on Wind and Water magic.

He started studying magic in secret. ‘If I just had a chance, if I could show dad what I could do, maybe he’d let me study magic full time.’ Because he was having to keep up his Shielder training, and keep his magic on the down low, he’s only learned Fire magic so far, though he was dabbling in more complex magic. ‘Though with dad away on a mission I can practice my magic more...but…’

The flames on the candles fluctuated as his emotions became a storm. He didn’t like having to hide things from his dad, or treat his magic as something he needed to hide. Max just didn’t want to disappoint his father, but he also wanted to be true to himself. It wasn’t like he hated being a shielder, the training had helped hone his vessel, which did help his magic output. Despite having beginner level magic he had a more advanced level mana pool.

Max was so focused on his internal struggle, he didn’t notice his door get opened. A large hulking figure approached the young man. His hand inching towards the meditating mage. “Hey!” It touched Max, and his reflexes took over.

Boom!

The mystery man was launched back by fire, his back hitting the wall. “Chad?!” Chad slid down the wall, his chest smoking.

“Hehe, nice fire ball babe!” He coughed.

“You idiot, how many times do I have to tell you not to sneak up on me when I’m meditating!” Max rushed over.

“Well how else are you gonna practice your healing magic!” He said with a grin. Max repressed the urge to smack him and proceeded to cast his healing magic on him.

“You shouldn’t be so reckless, I could have killed you.” He closed his eyes and focused on healing the big idiot.

Chad Lawrence, was a knight in King Mickey’s army, he was a tall drink of water, built like a mountain. With his thick arms, broad shoulders, thick beefy pecs, rock hard abs, a thin waist, thick manly hips, giving him an almost hourglass shape, strong legs and big feet. It was no surprise the large man was packing, he broke two cod pieces before they found a good size that could fit him. He was ruggedly handsome with thick luxurious hair, he was often chewed out by other captains because they felt it would get in the way when wearing a helmet. His answer to that was to simply not wear one.

He must have been fresh from training as he was still wearing his under armor, a skin tight mesh body suit that hugged the body almost like a second skin, tough enough and stronger than most chain mail thanks to magical enchantment and yet breathed like silk. It was an extra layer of protection in combat, while also helping the warriors wear armor.

It said something about Max’s power as his flames burned through the fabric, and burned the skin underneath. Nothing a quick healing couldn’t fix. “Daisy’s gonna get pissed if you keep destroying her work.” Chad teased.

Daisy dealt with magic clothe and fabrics, while Della crafted all manner of armor and weapons. “She’ll see it as a challenge more than likely...you aren’t telling her that it’s me breaking it are you?”

“Relax, I say it was an accident during training. She buys it!” He said confidently, as if his acting skills were five stars.

Max rolled his eyes. “You are so lucky you’re pretty!” Max said with a light teasing tone.

Chad smirked. “I know!” He ran his fingers through his hair.

This himbo was actually Max’s boyfriend. As soon as the youngest Goof finished healing him, Chad took his hand and kissed it. “Your healing magic is top notch babe, I don’t even feel any pain.”

Max blushed. “Hey…”

“Hey!” Chad pulled Max to him, and the wannabe mage wrapped his arms around his neck. The two kissed, lips meshing perfectly, from lots of experience. They blend together as the two were drawn into a heavy make out session.

Lawrence ran a hand along Max’s back, while his right slid down to cup his ass. Max slid his own hand up, running his fingers through Chad’s locks, their kiss deepening as they lost themselves in each other.

Tongues met and danced together, caressing and sharing the taste of each other. Their hands roamed and felt up each other as if they hadn’t seen each other in months though it had only been a few days. “Fuck I needed that!” Max moaned as the kiss finally broke.

Even Chad was short of breath. “I aim to please!” He licked his lips, loving the lingering flavor of Max on them. “I heard your dad is going away on a mission, you okay?”

“Yeah, it’s some big mission with him and Uncle Donald, he didn’t tell me much more than that.”

Chad leaned in close. “I hear he’s looking for a new keyblade master!”

“What?!” Max gasped. “How did you hear that?”

“Dewey, he was bragging about it. Donald must have told them so they wouldn’t worry.” Chad said with a shrug.

Now Max was a bit worried, if they were looking for a new keyblade master, then the war with the heartless wasn’t going well. “Ugh!” He buried his face in Chad’s pecs.

“There, there…” Chad comforted him. “Guessing you weren’t able to tell him, you want to study magic huh?”

A muffled no could be heard. Max not lifting his head from Chad’s tits, finding them both soft and firm, in a weird combination that made them so comforting. “I think the big Goof will understand, he was fine with us fucking right?”

It was dating, and Goofy was very accepting about it, he cried, took pictures, hugged Chad and welcomed him to the family. He even made them breakfast, it was almost embarrassing how accepting he was. Goofy never did things small, he happily bought them condoms, lube, sex toys, and even rented them BL themed movies for movie night. He wasn’t even trying too hard that’s just how he was.

Chad didn’t complain even if Max was embarrassed, they made good use of the condoms, lube, and sex toys, and the movies Goof picked out were actually really heart warming and sweet and the sex scenes sure put the boys in the mood.

Plus he never told Max how Goofy pulled him to the side with a warning. “If you ever hurt my son, I swear I’ll shield bash your balls so many times, no amount of healing magic will fix it, you’ll be singing soprano for the rest of your life, are we clear?” The fact he said all this with a smile, told Chad that the man could be scary, and he wasn’t the number one shielder in the kingdom for nothing. People saw him as a lovable goofball but he was still a man, a father, and a fighter! It also told him how much Goofy loved and cared for his son.

“You don’t understand this is different, my dad and I, we... never really bonded over stuff when I got older. Shielder stuff is how we’ve connected, he was always so proud of me whenever I learned a new technique or skill.”

“And you don’t think he’ll be proud of you for using magic?”

“I...I don’t know...he’s always talking about how great it is that I’m a shielder like him, and how happy he was to pass on what he knew to me. How can I just abandon everything he’s taught me?”

“Then don’t.” Max lifted his head. “Do both, I mean you are almost done with your Shielder training right, you’re a damn prodigy with that stuff, and you’re still young to learn new things. Plus you pretty good with magic now already. Maybe you can combine being a mage and a shielder, you’ll still be using what your dad taught you, doing what you love, and serving the kingdom, it sounds like a triple win to me.”

‘Was it really so simple…’ Max pondered. It was worthy a try anyway. “You are a genius!” He kissed his boyfriend.

“Hehe, yeah I know!” Sometimes the simplest answer was the best one.

Chad was a warrior and a knight, he knew what it was like on the battlefield, and having a strong tank/shielder was important, but having someone who can watch your back, heal you up, or throw some fire was only a benefit. “Beauty and brains, I’m such a catch!”

“Yeah, my catch!” Max kissed Chad again, before the kiss could deepen, he broke it to whisper. “Bed, now!”

He didn’t need to be told twice.
