Chapter 10

Chapter 11 Date a Witch

“Please go out with me!”

“Huh?” Antonio cocked his head to the side. He didn’t know what he was expecting when Martin showed up at his door step at seven in the morning but it wasn’t this. His glasses shifted up as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

Martin bowed at a full 90 degree angle, his left arm stretched out in offering. “Please go out with me!” They had done things out of order, but Martin still wanted to ask Antonio out properly.

Antonio couldn’t help but smile. “Yes…”

At the acceptance Martin’s wolf ears and tail popped out, his tail wagging excitedly. “You mean it?” His eyes sparkled with joy. “Really?”

‘Too cute!’ Even without the happy puppy eyes, Antonio wasn’t gonna say no. The witch put his hand on Martin’s head, running his fingers through his soft blonde locks. ‘You big dummy, I’ve had a crush on you all this time, we’ve even had sex, you think I’m gonna walk away now over a date?’

He smiled as Martin leaned into the touch. “Really, really!”

The werewolf got excited and pounced on Antonio, happily licking him. “Hehe, sorry about that.” He scratched the back of his head sheepishly.

Antonio wiped his face off with a cloth. “It’ll be an adjustment, but…” He cleaned off his glasses. “I don’t dislike it!” His cheeks were tinged pink. Martin nuzzled him. “Now get back to your room before someone sees!”

The blonde pouted. “Are you ashamed of me?” He gave a mock cry. Antonio pointed his wand at his nose. “Joke, joke!”  He backed off. “But don’t you worry, I’m serious about our date, it’s gonna be the best date you have ever had. You have my word on it!” Martin winked at him.

Antonio’s blush bloomed hotter. Before he could respond Martin was racing off. ‘Big dummy, he doesn’t have to try so hard.’

Sadly Martin didn’t know that and he was currently brainstorming ways to enact the perfect date. “What do two guys do on a date together.” He shrugged. “Shouldn’t be that difficult right?”

Mystery planned to pay but… His wallet was empty. ‘And all my funds from the Center have been frozen.’ It was a provision for his release. With said money he could flee the country after all.

‘Aww man, and I don’t get my allowance for another month…’ He got an idea but he didn’t like it.

Grabbing his phone he dialed a number. (Ring, Ring, Ring, Ring, Ring...Click) “Go for Mystery!”

“Hey dad…”

“Martin?” Gerard said. “Well now this is a surprise, you almost never call, unless you’re in trouble...did you get kicked out of school?”

“No…”

“Did you get arrested?”

“No…” Martin said. ‘And he wonders why I don’t call.’

“Did you get a girl pregnant?”

“No! Jeez dad I’m not in trouble okay!” He didn’t think the girl thing was a problem anymore anyway.

“Okay, okay, wait did something happen to Diana, does she need money, is she in the hospital? I’ll be on the first flight over!”

“Diana’s fine dad…” He rubbed his temples. ‘I was missing for how long and he doesn’t even know or care, but Diana in trouble he’s ready to fly out and see her.’

“Well if there’s nothing wrong, I gotta go son, Daddy’s very busy.”

“Dad!”

“Hmm what?”

“I do need something, I need an advance on my allowance.”

“Well I don’t know Martin, things are a bit tight this month.”

‘Says the man who was about to give Diana money and fly out on a whim to come see her.’ Martin really hated dealing with his father. Once he married Diana’s mom, it was like he stopped existing, he felt like the odd one out.

“Look dad, I’ve never asked for an advance for my allowance ever. I got this date coming up and I want it to be special.”

“Ah so it is a girl.” Gerard stroked his beard. “You do take after your old man after all.”

‘God I hope not.’

“Well, I suppose this is a worthy cause. You didn’t blow your allowance on stupid comic book crap did you?” He hadn’t, he had spent his money to try and impress some girls. That was how this whole mess started.

“No dad…” His dad always crapped on his interests.

“I’ll send the money to Diana.”

“Why do we have to involve her?”

“Well I need to know you really got a date, and you aren’t just seeking to buy some stupid toy, movie, or comic books.”

“Look Dad, I don’t want Diana in my business.” This was an advance on his allowance, for his date, he didn’t want her involved in this.

“Well boy, I need to make sure this isn’t one of your wild stories, so either Diana helps or no advance.” A vein throbbed in his forehead, he was so mad right now. The rage was causing him to transform.

“Fine no advance!” He hung up the phone. ‘Why is he so frustrating?’

The blonde began to pace back and forth to calm down. He really wanted to treat Antonio to the full Mystery experience. ‘Aunt Tamson always taught me to treat your partner right!’ He always believed first dates should be special.

His ideal first date went like this, if he didn’t have a car he’d rent a limo, enjoying a nice drive where they could talk and get to know each other on their way to a fancy restaurant. They’d have a great meal, and then hit up a local flick, able to chill and relax at a movie holding hands. What followed varied depending on what events were going on, maybe they’d have a double feature, enjoy some fireworks, visit a carnival, or go to an arcade. Something special to make the night end on a high note!

Thinking about Aunt Tamson reminded him of something. “My secret stash!” He went to his dresser and dug through his sock drawer. Tamson was his mom’s sister, and Martin positively loved her. She was always so nice to him, making him feel like he mattered, to the point he was always sad when his dad came to pick him up from her home. Every year on his birthday, she gave him money. He was told to keep it safe and save it for a rainy day.

Martin found his sock, inside the sock was a baggy full of cash. Aunt Tamson gave him birthday money in a card that he opened at his parties, but also slipped him some extra cash to add to his secret stash. Martin saved all of it.

He didn’t have enough money for a limo but he had plenty to make an awesome date for Antonio. The two boys spent hours primping, both of them equally nervous about their date tonight. After a shower, going through five outfits, both of them were ready.

“Hey Marty, can we hang out?” Billy showed up in human form. “Wow!” Martin was sleek, wearing a black suit with a red tie.

“Can’t tonight, got a date, but hey make yourself at home, go ahead and take a crack at my comic book collection.” Martin was rushing around the room. ‘Got my wallet, my phone...’

“Cool!” Billy grabbed a comic and jumped into Martin’s bed. “Tell Antonio I said hi!”

‘Good that way Billy can watch my room while I’m gone.’ He had comics, snacks, everything an alien needs. When he left, Billy rolled over and grabbed Martin’s pillow.

Antonio was also dressed nice, with a powder blue suit and a dark blue tie. “Hey…”

“Hey…” They checked each other out, feeling a little flutter in each other’s hearts. “What are we doing tonight?”

“I got us reservations at a nice restaurant, then I figured we could hit the cinema, and I heard there’s gonna be a fireworks show down by the river.”

“That sounds awesome.”

“I couldn’t afford a limo, but I think I know how to get us there.”

“Well we don’t need a limo, I can just…” Suddenly Antonio got scooped up bridal style.

“Save a limo ride a werewolf!”

“Martin wait…” Too late, the blonde werewolf was running, and to avoid being scene he took a scenic route. He wasn’t quite used to traveling at werewolf speed yet, so when they arrived their suits were a miss.

“Ohh crap, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”

Antonio pats his head. “Martin, chill I got this.” With a wave of his wand he fixed them up good as new. “Now let’s eat.”

Martin offered his arm and Antonio took it. They walked in together. The man at the podium eyed them. “Do you have a reservation?”

“Sure do, it’s under Mystery.” The man checked the book.

“I’m sorry there’s been a cancellation, yours!”

“What?”

“A VIP guest wanted a table, and we had to bump your reservation.”

“But that’s not…” His ears twitched. “No way!”

Martin looked and saw Marvin here, with his dad and two flight attendants. The girls were fawning all over Marvin, while he was bragging about the trips he went on with his dad. “You got to be kidding me.”

“It’s fine, can we get another table then?” Antonio asked.

“Uh huh,” he flipped through some pages. “Uh huh...I’m sorry we are completely booked.”

“So let me get this straight, you bumped my reservation, and aren’t even gonna do something so we can have a table?”

“I’m sorry there is nothing I can do.” Martin was getting angry. Antonio could sense the werewolf changing.

“Whoa is that you Martin?” Marvin came over, with the girls on each arm. “What are you doing here, isn’t this place a bit expensive for you?”

Martin glared at him, his fangs growing. “Me and my dad eat here all the time.” The girls cooed and thought Marvin was so cool.

His hands balled into fists as he had a powerful urge to rip this smug pretty boy a new ass hole. “What’s with the suit, are you two on a double date or something? Did you guys get stood up?” Marvin was making a lot of assumptions, and being rude. “Want us to make room at our table?”

‘Your table was our table, jack ass!’

Antonio caught his shoulder. “No thanks, we are leaving. Enjoy your meal!” Marvin shrugged and escorted the ladies away. When no one was looking Antonio zapped Marvin in the ass. He wouldn’t be enjoying food tonight.

As soon as he got back to the table he had a sip of soup, and immediately he was rushing to the bathroom. Every course would result in the same.

-x-

Martin was still pissed, but holding Antonio’s hand helped. “Forget the dinner, let’s grab a couple of burgers and catch a double feature.”

“Yeah…” He grinned. “That sounds good.”

Antonio knew how bad Marvin ruffled him, mostly because the two were so very similar, and yet while everyone seemed to fall at Marvin’s feet to worship him, people mock Martin for liking the same stuff. It was both hypocritical and cruel.

The two enjoyed some burgers and shakes. They grabbed some extra snacks and drinks at the cinema. Since they had extra time they grabbed a double feature. It helped Martin’s mood, but he just hoped Antonio was having fun.

During a romantic scene between the two leads, he felt Antonio squeezed his hand. Martin blushed, knowing what to do. The two started making out.

Even when the love scene ended the two kept making out, they could always see the movie gain when it comes out on DVD. They were lost in each other, only coming out of it when the lights came on.

Sadly Martin’s plan was about to take another snag, as the fireworks at the river was canceled due to rain. It was a full on down pour. “Aww man…”  He sulked.

“Come on.” Antonio lifted him up.

“We gotta wait, till the storm clears.”

The witch turned his wand into an umbrella. “Let’s go!”

“Huh...whoa!” When the coast was clear the two went out and up. They surged through the rain, breaking through the clouds, a barrier of magic protecting them. Breaking through the cloud line to see the beautiful sky beyond.

He pulled out a cloth and it turned into a flying carpet for them to sit on. Martin was able to relax and even let his ears and tail out. Antonio waved his wand, pulling the lightning from the clouds and sending it soaring through the sky like fireworks.

“Aww man, my plans completely fell apart.”

“Dude…” Antonio nudged him. “We had a great date, I got to spend the day with a wonderful man.” The praise had his tail wagging. “I think all check boxes have been checked.”

“I just always...had a vision of the perfect date and I don’t know, I thought maybe you weren’t having a good time.”

“Martin, I’m not gonna dump you because your plans fell through, or if you don’t break your bank on a limo, a fancy restaurant, some expensive thing for us to do together.” He cuddled up close. “Besides, having your back and saving your tail is what I do. It’s what I’ve always done.”

“Yeah...you really have always been there for me.”

“Don’t get hung up on little bumps, I had a very good time, didn’t you.”

Martin nodded. “The burgers were yummy, walking with you was nice, holding your hand in the theater, and that make out scene…” He licked his lips, still tasting the popcorn and candy Antonio ate on them. “I’ll never forget that, and this.” He raise his hand to the stars. “Is really beautiful.”

They laid back and watched the stars together. “Sounds like a perfect date to me.”

“It’s really that simple?”

“It’s that simple.”

“Man the only way this night could have been better, if I could have decked that jerk’s face for stealing our reservation.”

“Don’t worry, he’s not gonna be enjoying anything tonight.” Martin raised a brow at the mischievous smirk on his date’s face.

“What did you do?” He purred.

“Just a little jinx, he’ll be better by tomorrow but he won’t be enjoying any company tonight.”

“You’re amazing!”

Antonio smiled, feeling quite pleased with himself. “I know!” He squeezed Martin’s hand.
