It looks like the update for the gaze v3 component of Alive is winning the poll so I jumped the gun and started working on it a bit. This is a quick video showcasing the new body-part specific rotation system. The lasers are there just for debugging. In this new version, besides the head, the model is able to rotate also the chest and the hip individually to better face the player.

I'm still exploring things and trying to figure out what would work best and how to configure it. There are lots of cool things that are doable, but doing them might have unwanted consequences. For example full body turning is something some people requested. It's tricky but possible to detect that the person is standing, and in such cases to make the character fully rotate towards the player. But doing so would make it impossible to see the back of the character, so it's a bad idea for something like vam. There are lots of little things like that and doing over-complicated systems or buttons/toggles for such things doesn't seem like a good idea neither. But I'm exploring options and trying to figure out what makes things more immersive and doesn't break things.

I agree I would like to see more life like natural head movement and gazing.
