Every time I rewatch this, to me Gon slips more and more from dumb/endearing to dumb/annoying/should-have-died-ages-ago. He continues gambling with his own and other people's lives for no other reason but "I just felt like it" Meh... Still, anime overall is too good for Gon to spoil that for me.

That was not a spoiler, you literally saw that fake tattoo just before the narrator explained. (Also that ability to replicate skin was explained before). You are allowed to like bad guys too :))) Justice for 🍣😂

You being "spoiled" by the narrator saying he was masquerading as a Troupe member is on you. Hisoka took off the tattoo because he doesn't consider himself a member but the Troupe thinks he does. They'll explain how people become members later and hopefully things will make more sense to you then.

Luke, I would recommend watching the hunterpedias eventually. maybe watch them after stream or after an Arc, it'll help fill in gaps or recap stuff, or offer new info all together, but don't skip it outright. -

I’m gonna say this to help you understand the hunterpedia. It’s not there to spoil the show, it’s to provide insight and greater understanding to what ur watching, yes u can predict that someone who looks like a top would b good fighting with tops, but that’s a ACTUAL nen property that u need to know to understand how it really works and what makes everyone unique. Nen is a very complex system and the more u know and learn the better u will understand and love the show, I would recommend 80% of the hunterpedias bc they really do help, the world of Hunter Hunter is vast and the show never stops world building. Also, don’t b mad at narrator, it’s the same thing as I mentioned above, the story of HxH is the main take away, so understanding characters and the way the world works is the best way to take the most from the story

The Hunterpedias are not spoilers, they add context. They are also adorable and often funny. If you are being "spoiled", it's likely something obvious, something that is otherwise not mentioned in the show, or something that was mentioned but you either missed it or forgot about it. Even the previews are really good at avoiding spoilers, if you do accidentally watch one.
