Best real fight episode 🗿

MostDakka

Fun fact : almost all of the buffs ains uses at the start get used during the fight and almost every spell he uses is a real dungeons and dragons spell. Goal of all life is death has to be one of the coolest abilities. In the light novel it's described that it kills everything in 200m radius. Even air and earth. That's why it's desert at the end and briefly there is vacuum due to lack of air.

George Fowler

Before he fights shall tear he buffs up as one would before taking on a raid boss in an mmo like WoW.

SamJaz

In an all out fight between all of the servants and the guardians, the winner would be Rubedo, the younger sister of Albedo. You haven't met her and she hasn't been shown in the anime and as far as I've read in the novels she hasn't even made an onscreen appearance yet, it's so far off in the distance that it barely counts as a spoiler at this point because you're going to forget all about this comment before she even makes an appearance in a hypothetical Season 5 or 6. But the answer is Rubedo is the strongest.

Flutter0Shy

Bruh... Let's watch season 4 again, would you like? And I'm sure that Luke just like me are the types to remember this small stuff and forget the big stuff that we talk about on screen 5 minutes later

Jacob

its less that shaltear is that strong its more of a missmatch, shaltear is about on par with ains in terms of strength but as a vampire she has access to life draining spell that will sustain her and holy magic that is undead like ains are weak too

Marcio Neves

Nah, small bird memory Luke can't even recall statements from 10 minutes prior while watching. It is safe 😂

Flutter0Shy

Hella Bless strong. But no matter what, all bosses are CPU/AI after all. Cheesing or having plans after plans for counterplays are what Players makes them victorious against any enemy in videogames after all, unless limit capping (too high def to deal dmg more than 0) in some games. But just look at LetMeSoloHer legend over there

Pascal winter

Perroroncino is the person that created shaltear

ArtyGS1

Peroroncino, the name Shalltear mentioned during the fight, is her creator aka one of the guild member. The one he said he's close with in the last episode when inside the mausoleum. As for Shalltear and Ains power comparison is not explained in the anime so its confusing, but to put it simply, it is mentioned during this episode by Shalltear that Ains build is necromancer, which means he specialized in creating undead, not fighting as a frontliner (I won't go into the specific of his build cus thats a whole rabbithole) while Shalltear is in charge of 3 floor by herself as the 1-3 floor guardian, and if you look at all her ability in this fight (heal when dealing damage, resurrection item, can summon a duplicate of herself, can summon minion to heal herself, etc) it is quite clear who is more likely to win.

Luca Bellan

Ainz at the end of episode: "Just according to keikaku"

Anonymous

nnnnoooo that felt like 5min

Marcio Neves

Physically all the npcs are now as "alive" and "breathing" as Momonga. They are all real, sentient beings. And all the events from the game time are imprinted in their memories as if they were all real deal

Solar

As far as the strength goes with the NPC's, they are all max leveled, Ainz is also max level so it's safe to say that they can all at least stand up to Ainz. they do obviously have different stats because they have different classes and sub classes so they have different strengths and weaknesses . but at the very least you know a fight between NPC's will be a serious one. as far as which NPC's beat each other in a fight, it's difficult to say, but the author mentioned the rock, paper, scissors, trio. where 3 of the strongest NPC's win against one but loose against the other, like in rock, paper, scissors. I won't say the 3 NPC's names though cause it might be considered a minor spoiler.

Rainet

Peroroncino was Shalltear's creator, he's one of the 41 members of the guild.

A-Certain-Accelerator

Remember that the NPCs are supposed to be boss monsters in an mmo, they are specced to fight against parties of players, so each floor boss is stronger than an individual player

Dethrox

No new episode of Solo Leveling made me sad (forgot there is none today) but new episode of Overlord made me happy again^^

DeliveryBoy

So as far as I know the Floor Guardians are supposed to be all level 100 which is the same level as Ainz. That means the only thing that differentiates their strength is where they spent their level points, but they should have the same total stats. The other thing that can turn the tides are obviously the items, spells and weaknesses

Tsusaku Cohenat

Of course he planned ahead. Dont you remember, you yourself said it in the last video i think, that he was not the best fighter (as someone else said it here before), but great strategist. Yeah and you again forgot that Peroronchino is her maker (one of the players), it was said couple of times before.

Marcio Neves

Small bird memory Luke in action: he can't even remember who Peroronchino is, anymore 🤣

Anonymous

Momonga is by no means weak but he is fighting while unable to use his specialty and at a elemental disadvantage. Momonga has strong spells, but he specializes in necromancy meaning using summons like the skeletons he summoned on other episodes. Shalltear's lance makes that a bad idea because she will just keep regenerating health by killing the summons. So besides Shalltear being strong she has equipment and abilities that counter Momonga she also has what we could call a elemental advantage being able to use the holy element.

Anonymous

its call of the banshee that kills everything but goal of all life is death is a skill that boosts a damagespell by alot but u are not allowed to get hit for 60 seconds

Steven Hardy

Man the anime left out so much info. At level 95 players can unlock special sub classes (if they meet the requirements) that give them 5 levels of powerful skills or spells. Momonga took the class Eclipse (available only to the Overlord race) giving him access to the skill "The Goal of All Life is Death" which bypasses all resistances to instant death spells. This was what killed Shalltear.

Sai

Yeah this was such a great fight. My favorite was the buffing. I wonder how long each buff lasts for.

Ohms

I had hoped that you would watch the two episodes 12 and 13 back to back, because I'm concerned that you might forget the subtle details from this fight that make Momonga's strategy in this fight so amazing. I mean Peroronchino i think is one of the more frequently mentioned guildmates because of the rivalry between Shalltear and Mare, as reflected of the sibling rivalry between Peroronchino and Bukubuku Chaguma. If you forgot those names, i'm concerned about what you'll get from the fight without watching them back to back. That being said, yes this is amazing, and I think is a key reason for, in particular, the absolute hilarity that is the perspective of the former NPCs from this point forward.

Cyrill Attakpah

how the fuck can you not binge that? BOOOOH!! for not binging- everyone say BOOOOOOOH!

Morgan Hellström

Well the strongest is Albedos sister which no one can handle.

Thomas M

The Goal of All Life is Death is a skill that allows instant death magic to kill things that are normally immune to it, including things like undead (Shalltear) and even air and terrain, as mentioned.

The GoDKing 27

Damn that cliff hanger sucks

Reennji

I have created an Excel table with some important characters. This way, Luke doesn't have to take as many notes xD It will be updated as the series progresses. Link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11NNmjdwmuKYWeY-yTlbqHaYMDHCevYV454aB3dX0rY8/edit?usp=sharing * Some characters are marked with "?" even if they have been mentioned or appeared in the series (such as the Maids), so we don't confuse Luke with characters who have only appeared for less than 1 minute (Except for guild members).

Some0neElse

Shalltear is definitely strong. However the odds being in her favor comes from her abilities that (ironically) are perfect for fighting undeads. Ainz being undead himself is a huge handicap for him in this fight. Thats why he went all out giving himself all these status buffs Also i hope this isnt taken as a spoiler but there is NPC in Nazarick that is strong enough to defeat Ainz and even TouchMe

Mr. Dog

The person that put Shalltear under mind control was killed by Shalltear's lance just as they released the spell. So Shalltear got hit by the mind control spell right after the person who used the spell was killed. Thus there is no one able to order her do their biding. The rest of the army retreated or as killed we are unsure of what happened. But the world item was called the robe of heaven or something like that when those church people were talking in an earlier episodes. THe robe got destroyed and the user was killed so....yeah.

Mr. Dog

If i remember correctly doesn't Shalltear have a second class of Valkyrie?

SamJaz

I know she was mentioned but I don't remember her being onscreen or having any lines? I know Nigredo the older sister had a scene with cookies but can't remember any appearance of Rubedo the younger sister. If I'm wrong I'd love to know the episode I need to rewatch.

Regill Derenge

ainz was not wearing his god level equipment for the fight, nor was he using his staff. he would have instantly won with it. ^^

Arcade'owy Łowca

Shaltear "strong", because she build the perfect counter to undead. And almost everyone in Nazarick is some kind of undead.

Fangorr

His Skill "The goal of all life is death" is his ultimate ability which basically makes any instant kill ability guaranteed to land, and Cry of the banshee is a spell that applies insta-death to anything within a radius, with the widen magic applied to it, its around 100m. In the novel its described to kill absolutely everything living in the area, whether it be people, plants, animals or even the air itself, leaving just an empty void.

Tamus Heath

'Tis sad, even if he'd recorded both at once and just uploaded on the usual schedule it would've been good

NoTBafssuper

Peroroncino is Momonga's guild mate who created Shaltear, just wanted to clear the confusion since you where asking if that was the one who is controlling Shaltear in her current state

Matt

There's a lot going on in this anime Luke, and none of the characters have all the info about what's going on. They guess, make assumptions, and outright lie to each other, but you seem to take the most recent thing you heard as fact. Maybe after the first season you should rewatch it on your own, or at least read some summaries to get a better idea of how the characters tend to think and act. I know it's hard to keep things straight when you're watching so many other shows, but things are only going to get more complex.

PLEASE READ THIS (No spoilers) : It was a skill that could only be used once every 100 hours. The name of the skill—「The Goal of All Life Is Death」. In an instant, a clock with its hands marking the twelve o’clock position appeared behind Ainz’s back. He then cast a spell. “「Widen Magic: Cry of the Banshee」.” A woman’s scream rang throughout the surroundings like a ripple. It was a shout with an instant death effect. [.........] While Ainz was busy dodging the 「Einherjar」’s attacks, twelve seconds passed. Having completed a full revolution, once again, the hand on the clock pointed toward the sky. And Ainz’s secret weapon activated. That moment—the world died. It was not a figure of speech. Everything had died. In front of his eyes, the 「Einherjar」 turned into a white mist and began to crumble. Even the lifeless construct had died instantly. Likewise, Shalltear’s kin, succumbing to a power that they could not resist, began to die out. But it did not end there. Even the air that was devoid of life died and turned the 200-meter diameter into a space where breathing was impossible. If there had been a being here who needed to breathe in order to live, the dead air would have contaminated the lungs and ended its life. Not only that, the land died as well. With Ainz at its center, an area measuring 200 meters in diameter instantly turned into a desert. In a world where only death existed, the only thing left moving was Ainz and Shalltear. Ainz’s secret weapon, 「The Goal of All Life Is Death」, it strengthened the instant death effect of spells and skills to the point where even those with complete immunity were killed. A method to defend against it was to, like Shalltear, deploy a self-resurrection effect and so on. It was also the reason why even inanimate objects like the air and land had died. Although its effects weren’t to this extent in YGGDRASIL, in the real world, it was much more clearly pronounced in the form of granting ‘Death’ to all equally.

Juho Kaartoaho

Momonga/Ains didn't say that this would be risky for Shaltear. What he did say was that even Shaltear would agree that what he is about to do is very risky thing to do.

JammySplosha

here's something that youll never learn otherwise because the anime never says anything about it, [Cry of the Banshee] is an instant death skill that makes all who hear it die, but can be avoided if the opponent has instamt death immunity of some kind, which shalltear has, but before he used [Cry of the Banshee] he cast the Overlord skill [The Goal Of All Life Is Death], which allows instant death magic to bypass instant death immunity in exchance for delaying the cast time to 12 seconds, hence the roman numeral clock behind him after use.

Tamus Heath

Remember Ainz is a master tactician- he lead Shalltear into thinking there were mines everywhere just by setting one -what else did he trick her into thinking?

Ttsukasa

That is not hwat Goal of all life is death does, it simply enchances any following instant death spell. Basically denying all immunities. It is Cry of the Banshee that killed everything.

Ttsukasa

It's not actually a spell: it's a class skill learned at the 5th level of [Eclipse], which is a job class limited to Overlords with a bunch of prerequisites. It allows any spell it's paired with to completely bypass all Instant Death immunity, at the cost of delaying the casting time. So it wasn't [The Goal Of All Life Is Death] that killed Shalltear, it was [Cry of the Banshee]. Source: It was a skill that could only be used once every 100 hours. Ttsukasa

Luke the type to forget this by next episode, it doesn't even have to be far off. Have you guys not watched him fumble over the names, back story, etc of any other anime recently. It's almost maddening sometimes lol especially re:zero or MIA.

Ttsukasa

This isn't it. Shalltear is a divine magic caster, the mortal enemy of a necromancer. Shalltear is considered to be the strongest among the Floor Guardians in Nazarick, excluding Gargantua. She has the highest overall stats among them, and her life-sustaining abilities allow her to easily outlast any one of them in single combat. She also has the most actual combat experience of all the Floor Guardians as her position means she is the first to meet any player that invades Nazarick. It is noted by Ainz himself that she is confirmed to be a divine magic caster. However, the god in which she believes is completely different from the gods people worship. Shalltear’s skills are divided into the at-will and limited-use types. Shalltear's class build also makes her an extremely dangerous opponent against particular Magic Casters like Necromancers.[2] However, Shalltear’s magic resistance is affected by her opponent’s stats and levels. Even a 10th tier spell by a weak magic caster will not be enough to breach her resistance, but against a powerful magic caster like Ainz, 1st tier spells are the limit. According to him, Shalltear is looked upon as the best one-on-one fighter and could be used as a trump card against a strong foe.

Ttsukasa

previous episode: man this guy is a great strategist, he's always planning ahead this episode: WAIT WHAT, he planned ahead and expected this much?!!

Ttsukasa

Also she's literally an elemental counter to him, she's a divine knight.

Ttsukasa

zero "might" about it, he will, even if he watched them back to back he'd still forget, but we love him anyhow :)

Ttsukasa

It doesn't just kill everything living, it kills everything, even things that didn't know they could live and things that had the incorrect belief that they weren't living... like dirt for example. he killed all the dirt the air, he killed everything, if you had appeared right after before the vacuum effect killing air would have created, you'd have been poisoned to breath in the dead air.

Ttsukasa

Not only that, turns out spells have more effects in the "real world" than in the video game, the spell he used was so strong that it killed literally EVERYTHING within the radius, even things considered not to be alive to begin with... like water dirt air rocks etc, everything was reduced to sand/a dessert.

Hikari Ai

Some information from the Wiki regarding the spells, you can boost a spell in several different ways before casting it, for example Triplet Maximize Magic on the mines he casted earlier, the Triplet Maximize Magic means he's creating three times the amount of mines, not having to cast it three times.

Hikari Ai

Boost Magic: It can elevate the tier and power of the spell. Delay Magic: When it is activated, the magic delay the moment of activation of a spell. Extend Magic: It allows the user to extend the period of time that the spell could remain active. Maximize Magic: It increases a spell's attack power to its maximum damage potential. In other words, this meant eliminating the RNG in order to ensure the spell is able to deal the most damage possible. Penetrate Magic: It increases the chance to penetrate magic defenses or resistances. Silent Magic: It allows the user to activate a spell without the need to recite it, eliminating the danger of a third party or person disrupting the activation. Twin Magic: Unlike the original spell which can only create one object, this magic allows the user to create the same object twice from that spell without casting it again. Triplet Magic: Unlike the original spell which can only create one object, this magic allows the user to create three of the same object from that spell without casting it again. It's most likely a superior version of Twin Magic. Widen Magic: It increases the range or area of effect over what the spell would normally possess. And maximizing it.

wildhunt1973

This was such a great episode!

syaimaral

I just had a thought. These op npcs were left behind as creations by the players. Why can't other guilds do the same? Somewhere out there, there might be player created npcs or weapons in that world. Wouldn't that be fun to watch?

NB Rem

Peroroncino is the player that created shalltear in the game

Jacob

She is only considered the strongest because she has access to holy magic, I don't believe there is anywhere that mentions that her stats are particularly higher than any others they simply say she is the strongest floor guardian. Her main advantage against ainz in her hp draining lance that renders most of his summoning spells completely useless. If she where going up against a sorcerer or wizard with the same strength as ainz the odds would be closer to 50/50. Also just being the strongest guardian doesn't mean much considering the strongest NPC isn't even a guardian.

Hhound42

Ains is a master of information and misinformation, when fighting an opponent he'd dig up all information on his opponent and deliberately plant false information so he would be underestimated, he's playing Shalltear like a harp.

Ranhar Liscan

Shaltear and others guardiands have max lvl (100) in Ygdrassil all gilds can have normally have X max lvl NPC. So technically they are on same lvl as Momonga , and depends of how they was make, they can be strongers than normal 100 lvl player (i think they was created as a floor boss fighter, to fight vs group of raid players, that are max 20 in one party if i correct remember)

Thamor

Peroroncino is the Supreme Being that made Shalltear, it's not the "new master" or whatever this situation is as it's a mystery. I always find this fight funny when a true RPG gamer understand pretty well or can guess really close what kind of buffs Ains casted before starting this fight, but people who don't play RPG's have no understanding at all this kind of fight :D

Overlord_Ashalon

All the character in the poster have been introduced, though not all the maids have been named. Of them, you've met Naberal Gamma, Yuri Alpha, and Solution Epsilon.

Overlord_Ashalon

Other than racial difference, no, they are no different from Ains. AINS! Though they are still bound by their programming.

Overlord_Ashalon

In a 1V1 fight against any of the Guardians Shalltear would win every time. Albedo and Cocytus would put up the best fight. Outside of them, (Redacted) would always win and Sebas would be able to hold his own.

Overlord_Ashalon

Remember, Shalltear was in charge of 3 floors, not just 1.

Overlord_Ashalon

The ranking members are called Floor Guardians, then below them are the Battle Maids of the Pleiades lead by Sebas and below them are the servant. There are some outliers here and there, but this is the basics. Not all the Guardians are fit for battle.

Overlord_Ashalon

So how leveling in the game worked was there were a TON of classes and excluding a few (such as Ains Overlord class) topped out at level 10, and you mix and match the classes, but your total level could not pass 100. Ains took ONLY magic classes, so he knows a ton of different magics from all those different classes. So what he was doing at the start of the fight was buffing himself to make himself harder to kill.

Overlord_Ashalon

Ains always planned to kill Shalltear he said so last episode, he said at the start of this fight that he isn't sure if she can be resurrected like in the game because in the game Shalltear had been killed before in the game.

Overlord_Ashalon

"The Goal of all Life is Death" is a spell unique to Ains Overlord class, it is an instant death spell that he increased the range of with "Cry of the Banshee" it killed even the air within its range.

Nathan McCabe

This is the only fight that anyone from Nazarick didn't hold back. As far as the anime has gotten. (I'm anime only, haven't read the manga, LN, or WN)

Zigawits

You were asking what Ains was doing at the start of the fight. He was casting defense/support spells. He cast one and then confirmed that Shalltear did not start fighting him because of cast a spell. So he knew he had plenty of time to buff himself as much as he wanted with the massive amount of spells he knows. Peroroncino was one of the original Players in the guild and he created the NPC Shalltear. He was the bird looking one that we saw in a flashback were he talked about his sister voice acting in an adult game. He was also the last golem shown in the previous episode.

Brett Ripley

Just so you know the 3 strongest guardians are shaltear, albedo, and cocytus. They function kinda like Rock Paper Scissors, albedo the tank beats cocytus the glass cannon who in turn beats shaltear the bruiser.

Custodio

About Shalltears resurrection-item: this is actually worded badly, since it is not really resurrection (dying and then coming back). What it instead did was, that it saved her from death once. This means: all the skills she used previously are still on cooldown. All her MP (as she said herself) are still depleted, and her HP are still reduced. This is also the reason why the mind-control is still in effect, Shalltear didn´t get resurrected (which in theory, should clear all effects from her), but instead her death was prevented, she just got saved from death by the item. it should still have been a "basically-dead"-experience though. Functionally it basically works like a totem of undying in minecraft.

Dominique

Perroroncino is not the enemy, he’s the ‘supreme being’ that created Shalltear

charlymoon

I don't think this is ever mention in the anime (and I don't think it it spoilers) but each of the NPCs, at least the main ones are supposed to be bosses that defend each of the floors in their guild, one must have a full party in order to defeat even a single of these bosses, so in other words they should be stronger than Ainz, at least for Albedo, Cocytus and Shalltear

charlymoon

Extract from the light novel narrating what happened when Ainz used his strongest skill, [The goal of all life is death]: "In that moment — the world died. This was not metaphorical. Everything died. The Einherjar evaporated into white mist as it couched its lance, and dispersed before Ainz’s eyes. Even a homunculus with no concept of life died instantly. Shalltear’s familiars shared the same fate, unable to resist the destruction which overtook them. That was not all. Even the air — which was not even alive to begin with — fell into death. For over 100 meters in all directions, the air was no longer breathable. If any living creature tried to respire within that area, their lungs would be corrupted by the deadly air, and they would die. Neither did the land escape the embrace of death. The terrain in a 100 meter radius was instantly transmuted into sand. Only Shalltear and Ainz could move in this world, where only death remained."

Nikkelz

You gotta remember game logic Luke. Each floor gaurdian or grouping of NPC's are designed as bosses within the guild's base. The way the game was setup was that players could design their own housing and make bosses to defend it that others could raid. So NONE of these characters were meant to be 1v1'd you'd expect small groups or full raids for most of them. In terms of raw strength you can make arguments on who is stronger but most bosses in MMOs require specific strategies you need to use to beat them. knowing what their abilities and timing are any group can get through with enough planning. Ains is fighting shalltear while the guardians think of him as some great god meanwhile this was just a max level player, Mind you with exceptionally good gear and a lot of cash shop items but still just a player. Ain's stats overall in general MMO logic would be far lower than that of a boss level NPC. Also all the things he said were buffs or abilities you can prep before a boss. common MMO pre-boss prep to boost changes of survival.

BanTheUndead

So you will never get this context in the show but in the game Inze was level 100 (max) and Shaltear was level 90 (max for guild npc) while Inze is a considerably higher level he made is character a role paly character, taking things not because it was the best available but because it fit the character. Shaltear on the other hand was made specifically to deal damage, she recovers by doing damage with her lance. Because of the lance Inze can't really play the character he made the way he made it (summon waves of weaker undead to soften the enemy before directly attacking)

BanTheUndead

Also Shaltear said that her creator was better than Inze, not the person who brainwashed her. He was sad to hear that but technically it was true due to him having a role play build. He was the guild leader due to his managerial skills and his ability to handle issues between guild members, not due to his combat ability

Kintor

Perhaps it betrays my roots as MMORPG player but there's something so relatable about seeing Ainz buffing and preparing items before a fight. Normally in a MMORPG there is no game over and you will always respawn but equipment degradation, consumable items and above all time are things you will never get back. It breeds a certain kind of obsessive-compulsive paranoia, where you treat every significant fight like it might be your last even though that's physically impossible. So you can tell that the guy who wrote Overlord really lived the MMORPG life.

BlekDimon

Yeah, I suddently remembered about it when watching this scene, it's such a good description.

BlekDimon

I don't think that's correct. Shalltear is also level 100, you can see that in her card sheet, they are attached to each LN volume at the end.

Tom Boggess

perroronicino is another one of the members of the guild. the one who actually designed shalltear, her skills, and personality.

Rivory

The Goal of all life is Death!

Ttsukasa

I'm not sure who you're arguing with but I'm literally just copy pasting from sources that usually have much more attention to them than. you or I, ps cool avatar. https://overlordmaruyama.fandom.com/wiki/Shalltear_Bloodfallen/Abilities_and_Powers https://topstrongest.fandom.com/wiki/Shalltear_Bloodfallen

Ashe

Can't wait for season 2

Stefan

It feels like a hidden boss fight in a RPG, you get to kill the boss a 2nd time:) Does Ainz need a scroll to fly?:)) Shalltears's life steal is hack

info@voidzero.de

i mean i guess its explained here already but how he killed her: Cry of the Banshe is an Instant Death spell that normaly wont affect as strong characters as shalltear (or rather she is immune to instant death abilities). But the other thing he did: the goal of all live is death makes her not immune anymore. Im not gonna explain more as thats up for the next episode :) And i dont wanna spoil things you've not seen yet.

Beowolf Chow

This episode breaks me early on. One of the underlying themes is the loneliness and how Ainz loves the NPCs as the metaphorical children of his friends. So, early on when it flashes back to Albedo saying that she will kill Shalltear, and Ainz saying how he would not be able to stand watching them kill eachother, it just hits hard. From his perspective the NPCs are all he has left of his friends, and so he goes into this fight knowing he could die, because the alternative future would be worse.

Gamefisher

Perroronicio is the one who created her, not the one who mind controlled her. You probably just missed it, but in the episode before last you saw her impale the person who cast the spell at the same time it took affect, thus why she was never given any orders beyond the default sentry mode of attack anyone who attacks you.

BRUNO Marques

If each Floor Guardian fought the others, Shaltear would have a huge advantage as she is designed to fight multiple enemies with an unfair array of magic/skills/attacks. She is meant to surprise people with unexpected recovery / defensive skills and outlast defensive fighters. Considered the strongest Guardian, but on paper strength is not enaugh. Need to know how to actually fight. Albedo is a tank, Demiurge a commander/support type, Cocytus a warrior, Aura a tamer, and Mare... technically a druid but actually a trap. All the Guardians would be very wary of fighting Mare.

Zolfried

Nazaric is basically a raid dungeon, and each floor boss is a raid boss. Shalltear, albedo etc et.. Raid bosses are meant to be fought against by a group of players. yet Ainz is facing her alone.. so yes, she is stronger then him by a lot.. its only thanks to all his items and preperations, already knowing all of shalltears skills that he has a chance against her.

(no Spoiler) there is a whole thing in the books about each of the guardians. all info from the first three volumes aka season 1 1st-3rd floor: Shalltear Bloodfallen. is built to be strongest in a 1v1 (she is also a mix of melee and magic combat) [generally called the strongest guardian] 4th-floor: Gargantua. (you'll learn about him later) 5th-floor: Cocytus. Melee fighter build to have the highest DPS 6th-floor: Aura Bella Fiora. a tamer with lots of pets (also a ranger) 6th-floor: Mare Bello Fiore. was built to be strongest against large groups 7th-floor: Demiurge. special (not much is explained but he seems to be some sort of magic caster) 8th-floor: Victim. (he's weird) no clear explanation only vague mentions 9th-floor: Sebas Tian. (sort of guardian) a well-rounded Fist fighter said to be stronger than Shalltear when "transformed" not clear what this means [mentioned in volume 3 by Shalltear in the carriage with Sebas] 10th-floor Albedo. highest defense meant to be the bodyguard of the guild master. Treasury: Pandora's Actor. he is a Doppelganger and can transform into various other people to use their strength it is briefly mentioned that Sebas, Albedo, and Cocytus have a sort of rock-paper-scissors relationship in combat. Cocytus > Albedo: because he is the only one with enough damage output to overcome her defenses. Albedo > Sebas: because he can't overcome her defense Sebas > Cocytus: because Sebas can grind down Cocytus' health fast enough to survive.

If you know what race sebas is then you understand why he is so powerfull

Shaltear is the most powerfull guardian in general except maybe Sebas Tian going all out. She is specificly build for pvp, min Max. However there are other NPCs outside of floor guardians and between them there is at least one that is even stronger than Shaltear, im only saying this because anime doesnt elaborate much on this

As KDFireHero mentioned, Shalltear is the guardian of the first three floors of Nazarick. This is important to know because of something mentioned in episode one. Nazarick has never been breached by players when it was a game. That includes the time when it was just Momonga left, meaning even groups of players couldn't get past her.

Lord Peroronchino is one of Ainz's old friends. Ainz wasn't the strongest in his guild, they were all just players so he doesn't feel like he is better than them. Technically every NPC prefers their creator over the other Supreme Ones (besides Albedo after Ainz changed that setting of her to love him), hence why Shalltear said Peroronchino might be stronger than Ainz. Now, the master of Shalltear mind control is unknown to us, to Ainz and to Shalltear it seems. If you watch the moment she encountered this group in the forest before "rebelling", you can spot "someone strong" (as Shalltear calls them) and an old lady called Kaire who uses an item, her dress with a dragon on it, against Shalltear and that left her mind controlled. Kaire and the person protecting her were severly injured by Shalltear though (hence the mind control didn't fully activate).

I could be wrong, I watched a video explaining it and haven't read the light novel, regardless Shaltear has a better game build than Inze though.

KDFireHero

spoiler . . . . . . . . we know his race has something to do with dragons but not much more

KDFireHero

Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler in the raid of ~1800 they got all the way to the eighth floor fairly easily then stopped in their tracks at the eighth and never made it further just to be clear this was a group of roughly 1800 players and NPCs from levels 90-100. and whatever craziness is on floor eight treated them like noobs

The way I look at this, in the game Shalltear was a boss defending their base from other max level characters, and in games bosses are meant to be tackled by a party. So logically all the servants should be stronger than Ains, since he's a single max level and they're all meant to be fought by a party of max levels.
