The math take at the end of the stream killed me. :)) Luke if you have six times nothing it's exactly the same if you have something(six apples) 0 times. :)) If I have zero boxes, and each box has five apples in it, how many apples do I have? As it turns out, I have zero apples. Now that we establish that let's talk gates math. Each of the 1st gate's doors weights 2 tons and all other gates force required to open is 2 times the previous gate meaning: Gate I - 4 tons Gate II - 8 tons Gate III - 16 tons Gate IV - 32 tons Gate V - 64 tons Gate VI - 128 tons Gate VII - 256 tons

my ranking would be Hisoka the strongest, then Illumi, then hanzo, then Killua, then Kurapika, then Gon, in this exam. so Gon had no chance of winning directly. Hisoka would swipe hanzo and Killua could have a chance but not Gon atp.

What you’re saying makes no sense because it’s the equivalent of saying “I have 6 apples but if I subtract 6 where have they gone?” That doesn’t make sense they just disappeared. Also operations like multiplication aren’t physical actions they are just ways to explain how one number gets to another and all operations are just different ways to say the same thing, just different ways of describing how a number changes. Whether it’s 6-6, 6x0, 6+-6, or 0\6 it’s all theoretical and means nothing in the actual world, all you need to know is that the apples disappeared. I can’t believe I just spent like 5 minutes writing this, what a waste of time.

Very very minor spoilers incoming Gon will get angry on one guy who didn't quite like the game his father made because it was encouraging killing people. Gon didn't make big deal out of it, but it was enough of an insult for Gon to start completely ignoring what the guy had to say. Gon isn't a nice guy. He's emotionally unstable nuke waiting to go off on others or himself.

When Luke says "it's like our world except it's a mishmash of the past and present etc etc," I'm like... So just like our world, then? We've got people living in ancient castles down the road from people living in smart houses in some places. We have cities that are like stepping into a cyberpunk story a plane ride away from places that look like they're from Victorian times. We have indigenous people wearing suits and ties right next to their family members who are wearing traditional garb.

With his apple math does Luke think that if you have 6 apples in your hand and he says he times it by 2 that 6 more apples just appear from nothing. He would have to pick 6 more apples up and if he times it by 0 you could just say that he dropped all 6 apples and thus he has 0 apples.

You know, I feel like we might be a bit too tough on Luke when it comes to understanding the world-building in "Hunter x Hunter." Even though he's watched quite a few anime (20-30), HxH is a whole different ballgame with its mix of modern technology, fantasy elements, and diverse cultures. It's like entering a completely new universe (First anime for him that has this type of world-building, where it feels like anything goes and exists in the same universe) Instead of getting frustrated with him, maybe we could cut him some slack and recognize that not every anime world follows the same rules. With a bit more time and exposure to different shows, I'm sure he'll start to catch on. Let's try to be a bit more patient and understanding, shall we? PS: I used chatgpt on my comment, it was three times as long and if you feel it's less human that's why.

I understand where you're coming from Luke, and I agree math is stupid, though I do have a real life application for an equation like that. Let's say you have some people doing a test or course of some kind. And they are to be awarded 6 apples per phase they completed. The equation for that would be 6x?, with "?" being the number of phases a person completes. So if someone failed instantly, they would get 6 apples per phase, they completed no phases, so 0. This means they get 6x0=0 apples as a reward. It's not always about starting out with the 6, its just the base value which is being modified for a later value

When you wait to watch the ones from the new arc a couple days,, and now you're here getting a headache over the chat not grasping the math. But to set things straight, the first door is 4 tons (2 tons on each half), it then dubles with each door, making the weight in tons for each door as follows, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, and 256. The first 3 combined are not 16, door 3 alone is 16.

multiplying by 0 equaling 0 is good to know when you get into more complicated math like calculus or trigonometry, obviously there will be no real scenarios where you just multiply something by 0 and its gone, however there is many realistic equations where if the denominator has something multiplied by 0 it would not be continuous in that location

Yeah, that's where it really applies. From what I can tell, some people just do not have the brain for math - and that's fine. It's just one part of thinking. A way to think about it (for those that care) is that multiplying some number of objects by zero isn't removing them from existence, it's representative of them being moved elsewhere. So, multiplying 10 apples by 0 represents them being moved, taken, eaten, or whatever. Nothing just disappears from existence... well, okay maybe it can, but lets not get into that. At least that's my understanding from my level of study. I'm honestly not sure if I have the brain to go past the basics of early calc/trig, myself. Passed the class, but didn't truly understand it. Maybe that will change, we'll see.

i guess i see what you mean.. but most of the testing was fight oriented :D and even ''chefs'' or gourmet hunters need the fighting skill to obtain the ingredients to make the best food maybe it also apply to doctors ? like to obtain the right antidote/cure for specific disease etc. they must go to specific jungle swarming with strong creatures etc :D i mean you could always hire a combat hunter but the price would be insane :D

During my younger days when i was diving a lot, i was actually able to dive for nearly 10 minutes without any equipment. Can't do it anymore though, since i stopped training. So 9 minutes seems more than reasonable to me, since Gon was growing up in a port and was probably also diving a lot. The world record for breath holding during freedive is around 24 minutes btw.

the math makes more sense if you think about it as an array; so rephrasing it: you would have either 6 groups of zero/nothing, or vice versa, zero groups of 6

Luke you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what multiplication represents. Multiplication represents GROUPS of things, 2x6 means 2 groups of 6 (or 6 groups of 2). If we then apply 0 to this that means 0x6 is 0 groups of 6 (which would be 0 as you have no groups) OR it means 6 groups of 0 (which would also be 0 because your groups have nothing in them). You aren't simply making adjustments to the number you start with, you're also recontextualising it.
