2024-02-26 01:37:05 The nostalgia is terrific for this one. I played a ton of Yu-Gi-Oh back in the day. But Pokemon was bigger where I was, but Yu-Gi-Oh was the best card game that I played a ton. I also watched the anime a lot up to a certian point. The stakes of the show are definately bigger and creepier than they generally are in pokemon or byeblade.

Spat1000

Yes to the English versions please

Haywire

As a current yugioh player, no, you would not recognize the card game. It's the talidaga nights of card games, gotta go fast

ModernHog

Oh I just had the most MASSIVE pop off of all time. I love Yugioh, and it was so cool seeing your reactions to these openings!! You stopped right before my favourite one, though :( Precious Time Glory Days, the 4th opening of Yugioh GX, is so so good!! Can't wait for part 2!

Spat1000

Fun fact yugioh and yugioh gx are connected, the rest aren't connected.

Jacob

Yeah old anime that ran for a long time like Yu-Gi-Oh or dragon Ball z would usually have a single opening that runs for 100+ episodes and they would just change one or two scenes to show different villain every arc.

KingKaneki Ken

listen to all pokemon openings Japanese and English

Spat1000

In the movie bonds beyond time they are, but as far as I can tell 5ds isn't but I could be wrong.

Golladan

Yugioh is almost always kind of a world ending event. That has to be solved by playing a children's card game.

ElectricAnt

he did have a dragon dong

Tatersalad666

Recommending again to do the endings you have missed like March Comes in Like a Lion and the rest of the Golden Kamuy endings. Also you should do the Girls Last Tour and A Place Further than the Universe OP/ED's. Also if you want to do some more classic OP's you should do Yu Yu Hakusho.

Michael

POT OF GREED ALLOWS ME TO DRAW TWO MORE CARDS. I WILL START MY TURN BY PLAYING POT OF GREED WHICH ALLOWS ME TO DRAW TWO MORE CARDS. I WILL PLAY THE MAGIC CARD, POT OF GREED, WHICH ALLOWS ME TO DRAW TWO NEW CARDS.

Deception

you should do pokemon to

HorriblyUnoriginal

Hey, if you're doing a part 2 of Yu-Gi-Oh please include the Opening for Yu-Gi-Oh (1998)! It's commonly referred to by fans as Yu-Gi-Oh Season 0. The Yu-Gi-Oh series wasn't always about the card game, originally it was about the main character playing a lot of different games. (Yu-Gi-Oh means "king of games") At some point they made the card game the focus of the series, and that's when they rebooted the anime to only be about that. Season 0 features lots of different kinds of games, and is overall much darker in tone. Check out the OP if you can!

Michael

IT ALLOWS ME TO DRAW THREE ADDITIONAL CARDS FROM MY DECK, THEN I PLAY MAGIC FORCE WHICH ALLOWS ME TO PLAY POT OF GREED ONCE AGAIN TO DRAW THREE ADDITIONAL CARDS TO MY DECK. YOU NEVER SAW THIS COMING, I SUMMON POT OF GREED TO DRAW THREE ADDITIONAL CARDS FROM MY DECK. THAT’S WHAT IT DO YUGI.

Golladan

At the end of each series's run Yugioh does a hard reset with a new storyline and new characters. And becoming more childish in the process. It's how they've kept the anime going to draw new viewers. Some of the opening have different versions because they change some thing in them as the story progresses. A lot of the times it's something tiny. In the case of 99% the opening has parts of previous episodes in it, which they change sometimes. Yes, GX does start pretty lighthearted and ends up quite dark. Also ygo always had huge badongas. They just get heavily censored outside Japan.

Some0neElse

I still have the PC version of the old school Yu-Gi-Oh game (Joey's Passion being the most annoying one)

Golladan

5Ds takes place in the same city, an unspecified number of years in the future.

Firestormwalker

I watched the original yugioh and GX in english then switched to subbed for everything past that. Still watching now but I’m a few series behind and I think the two most recent ones were more geared toward an even younger audience or more of a gag series or something so don’t know if I’ll bother with those when I get there. They also divorced the real life game from the show with those recent series. For the longest time the packs would always have cards that were featured in the show but they have stopped that for some reason. Played the hell of the game, fell off after high school, tried my hand at Master Duel for a while this past year or so, but kinda fell off from that too. Game’s all turn 0 and hand traps now and I’m out here just wanting to play spooky tribal with my Skull Servants.

Michael

OH YOU GOT THE CELTIC GOD MY TURN, I SUMMON DARK MAGICIAN, I ALSO SUMMON JACK’S KNIGHT.

2024-02-26 01:37:05 power creep is the eternal enemy of these games. I've been driven completely out of my interest in more than 1 card game due to this pattern.

Personally did not care for Hyperdrive, but that’s mostly because I remain forever salty that the theme so g I voted for didn’t win.

Iliana Mage

Recommending Magic knight Rayearth, and Slayers old school openings

mjaomjao2

Actually yugioh had booba since the start, a lot of the cards got censored in the west though.

Kelo

Excited for part 2! And the reason the first one seems so Egyptian themed is because the main character Yugi is possessed by the spirit of an ancient pharaoh who can take over Yugi's body hence him "looking older". Hope this helps loved the reaction!

Howard Huang

Just so you know, the playlist you're using is probably missing a lot of openings for the latter seasons: 5Ds, Zexal, Arc-V, Vrains, Sevens, Go Rush.

KeanuofRivia

If you think GX changed things up just wait till u see the motorcycles 😂

GiuseppeG11

"Is Yu-Gi-Oh good?" Yes but only Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters, Yu-Gi-Oh GX and Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal. The rest are not worth watching.

Awcher

Recommendation for the future, when there are multiple versions then watch all of them or people are going to loose their shit.

StrykerEvol

And the madlad is finally doing it! Yes, Yu-Gi-Oh is divided by different series. Original Series, GX, 5Ds, Zexal, Arc-V, Vrains, Sevens and Go Rush. Plus season 0 and some movies. But if they all have something in common, beside the card game, it's that they always start light just to turn dark later on. But every new series also references the older ones. Mostly in forms of easter eggs. Except for Arc-V, which literally uses alternate timelines of the previous series as it's main plot.

StrykerEvol

The censorship in western Yu-Gi-Oh is pretty insane... They covered up cleavages and nudity, tried to hide religious signs, completely removed most weapons like guns or changed them to look more like toy weapons. They also removed most swearing and literally every single drop of blood... Some cards and characters were even completely redesigned. In 5Ds, they even removed a whole graveyard... Oh right... And they created the whole concept of being "banished into the shadow realm" to censor the concept of death...

[ GMAN ]

Nice Video! Can youy react to all Inuyasha openings? I think I saw you just react to one, but there are more.

Shawn Oxley

Please do the english versions

Chalex

Forbidden Kingdom would like to challenge that claim, good God that's the one game I have not had the patience to beat as an adult...

Vincent

Wow, it as been a while since I've seen Obelisk the tormentor, Slypher the Sky Dragon and Mega Ultra Chicken :D

2024-02-18 23:55:30 yugioh is basically magic mumbo jumbo from ancient egypt with card games and it does get very world endish towards the end, every season past OG yugioh diverts from the ancient egypt theme into more space/time travel/dimensional travel/etc theme depending on the season once more with card games as the battle stage for the characters. Also important to mention you only reacted to OG yugioh and GX after that we have 5ds, Xezal, ArcV, Vrains and the new one i dont remember

Gimme all Japanese pokemon OPs.

Yoru

ElectricAnt already said it, but the position of the dragon head (17:15) is exactly what it looks like. That's a giant monster that wants to kill everyone and has a dragon for a dong.

Dr. A

I read the original 7, 5 of duelist, the 7 millennium world and Yu-Gi-Oh R. All I read were great, but I wish the author stuck with the original darker theme. Defiantly recommend reading the original 7 volumes if you want to see crazy stuff.

Dr. A

The original Yu-Gi-Oh story is about Yugi and the Pharaoh's soul bound to the millennium puzzle. The Pharaoh has no memories and has the ability to curse people who lose to him. The curses are usually psychological and can end in death.

Dr. A

In the original series the monsters were extracted from the souls of people that have been trapped by the millennium items dark magic. One holder of an item was compelled to create the card game based on visions from his times in Egypt in hopes of bringing back their lost loved one by reviving the death game in a modern form.

Zack

Should watch all the gundam ops

James Courtney

So the issue is that the person who uploaded the Yugioh Openings on their “official” channel really messed up the playlists and the uploads. They didn’t check to make sure they didn’t upload duplicates. I actually did make proper playlists that only have ones with actual major changes in them. I’ll link them here: DM: (there is one Op you missed) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEizCYAqnDY_B2vAWZ5TLtX_bLEqHXuSX&si=T8r6ax_8MmLkiw8g GX: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEizCYAqnDY_XJhfT98caZ-2lZoCNvRuT&si=Rnem56Eobi6UAMh1 5D’s (which the Official channel didn’t upload for some reason…): https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEizCYAqnDY_47OM1DLUepTr1rhrVbBaJ&si=WaXv_S8mwWjTKmoR Zexal: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEizCYAqnDY9x5P0iU1qNVTWOWcDU1QAu&si=JciYi-rlNhoa19kL Arc-V: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEizCYAqnDY9nYdY2fu6oYKaXyInYDsWO&si=JdmWl0oaonluQvJn Vrains: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEizCYAqnDY9tirQQOB3VBvYNMwZcg_z3&si=Q2tenJbkVgg0q2kV This should help a lot with not having to skip so many random duplicates.

Manie Gudak

5D's Story is way better than any of the other series, a crime you didnt mention it. Also Zexal only gets good on 2

James Courtney

Now for what’s going on; Yugioh - the original series (Yugioh Duel Monsters) did end. It had over 200 episodes and has multiple sequel series. Each take place further in the future with its own cast. Also each series does have tournaments but many of these games are also more or less death games where the fate of the world hinges on magic power coming from the game. So yea stakes do get pretty high. Basically: DM - is Yugi and the original cast learning the secrets of an ancient game from Egypt that was so dangerous it nearly destroyed Egypt. It’s been resurrecting along with the legendary Pharaoh that sealed it away so Yugi must help the Pharaoh uncover his memories and seal away the magic once more. GX - 10 years after DM, Jaden Yuki enrolls in Duel Academy, a school Kaiba made to teach people how to play Duel Monsters (the name of the Yugioh TCG in the world). But the school and Jaden specifically end up being tied into a war of light and darkness that will determine the fate of existence itself! 5D’s - 30-70 years later (depends on if your watching Sub or Dub) after an incident that broke Yugi’s original hometown in half thanks to a reactor being destroyed, the sewer rat Yusei Fudo wants to escape the slums of the Satellite to get revenge on his once friend for stealing his favorite card and his ride. But it seems that destiny has more in store for Yusei and his friends when their mysterious birthmarks seem to connect them to an ancient power that awakens every 5000 years… but why is it awakening now and what else is trying to awaken as well? Zexal - while dueling one day Yuma suddenly meets this ghost that he can only talk to named Astral. Astral explains that he came on a mission but doesn’t remember his mission beyond that he needs to collect all 100 Number Monsters that are possessing Humans, making them act strangely. Since Astral cannot duel, he has to work with Yuma to collect the Numbers… especially before Astral’s enemies can. Arc-V - While attempting to play an Entertainment Duel, Yuya suddenly creates a whole new Summoning mechanic! As the pioneer of this mechanic he must learn how to use it properly, but something seems off when he keeps coming across people who have the same face as him… which brings him into a new mission - to save the Multiverse from a force who are going out to invade other universes. What are they looking for? And can Yuya and his new Summoning Mechanic be the key to stop them? Vrains - Welcome to the VR World! Here people have digital avatars to duel each other but after Playmaker comes across an AI just named A.I. a secret organization that has been trying to act the VR world comes after him to delete A.I. but why? There are 2 other spin offs but they are advertising a new Yugioh spin off game so Idk that much about them.

GiuseppeG11

I didn't mention 5DS because it's awful. Terrible characters, motorcycle duels which are retarded and a lame af time travel story.

J P

Those are good playlists! Hopefully he sees them and uses these

S0ulSp4de

Yu-Gi-Oh was so awesome at the time. I remember buying the cards and try to build a good deck to play with. I never wanted to have the "best deck" possible, I was definitly more hooked about the idea to build a great "theme based" deck. Maybe it's because I loved GX the most, but I refused to take cards which didn't fit the theme of my deck.

Daniel Garcia III

You should react to the Ninja Kamui opening and ending, its Coldrain so I think you'll like it, maybe do a full reaction to the op also.

Krolliox

Luke PLEASE do part 2 of this, and also the JPN Pokemon opening would be an awesome reaction.

StrykerEvol

Honestly? I also like 5Ds and Arc-V way more than Zexal. Especially the later parts. None are horrible. They all just got very different styles. So it's more a matter of wheter you like the style or not. Anyways, i would say they are all worth watching.

Some0neElse

for me the voice of Joey is very irritating combined with how sometimes he gets OP cards and you get nothing

nordiclight

PLEASE do a video for the english openings as well, the first one is just too iconic to skip over

Andy Hinton

English openings also please

Stefan

Obelisk?!

Yazmin soto

I'm not sure if anyone mention it but there's a Yu Gi Oh Zero or season 0 that I've only been able to find subbed. I don't think that one was dubbed buts it's on the darker side then the first couple of seasons of the one that was dubbed.

Jay

you missed 6 series that are called 5ds,zexal,Arc-V, VRAINS,Sevens,Go Rush
