I'm halfway through the episode, and you still believe that Kiriko and Haruki you're watching are the 2 protagonists of the previous episodes....So, Let's go over the basics of the "details" essential to remember : - The "female" main character's name is Kiruko (now you know why this name) - The male main character's name is Maru - the name of the main character in the strange mysterious place with children is Tokio lol :p. No malice intended. Don't worry Luke, watch the series without pressure. If there's anything important you don't understand, the comments will kindly explain. So, from this ep, the evidence points to Kiruko being the result of a (secret) transplant of Haruki's brain into the body of his (deceased) sister Kiriko. And Kiruko is looking for the 2 men in the photo we saw in the previous ep : the doc who performed the operation, and her mentor/friend, Robin. Note: Haruki had a crush on his sister (hence the bath scene where Kiruko seeing herself try to kiss her reflection) in Ep 1. This (weird) feeling is one of the theme. Kiruko, by virtue of her/his nature, her/his story and the themes she/he carries, is an atypical, magnificent and particularly interesting character. With Thorfinn, the best 2023 character. edit : If you ask me, I'll tell you what I tell everyone to whom I recommend Heavenly Delusion : I think Heavenly Delusion is typically the kind of anime you need to binge-watch to get everything right and enjoy it the best. The more you separate episodes, the more you run the risk of forgetting details, missing a lot, being confused and lost. And when you watch it a second time, you see the mind-boggling amount of foreshadowing, you understand the true meaning of certain dialogues, you see all the details you didn't see the first time. You see that the author gave A LOT of clues.

On their room door it says Kiriko and Hiruko Takehaya. Everyone calls them brother & sister so there's no reason to assume they are not related. What makes you think they are not?

A lot of people are saying shit they shouldn't here. All of us with hindsight can be like "Holy Shit blank just happened!" or "They showed this thing this early, omg!" Y'all need to chill. I agree with your edit, that is a show he should have watched on twitch or something, like 5 or 6 episodes per watching session. That's Made in Abyss season 2 reaction all over again, not remembering the characters won't do him any favors haha But i'm here for the journey, can't wait for what's next !

Honestly, that's every comment section on ANY reaction to this show (and many other shows), and it's super annoying... "You missed something super important! That guy there was actually this guy, you can see that from his eyebrow being 2 mm shorter!" type shit, while claiming it's NOT spoilers because "the scene already happened" or some idiotic excuse like that, despite the thing in question only being obvious in hindsight. Or something like; "Wow, how could you miss this super obvious important thing that I only know is important because I watched the entire show 5 times, along with 3 reactions and a video dissecting it in detail?!" "Remember [insert detail] because it'll be important later!!! What? I'm only telling him to remember something plot-important, that's not a spoiler!" Also, one of those I hate the most; "Actually, in the manga they revealed that Blah was the one who did That, I don't know why they didn't include it in the anime" while the anime actually just moved the reveal back a couple of episodes because the pacing worked better that way in an anime.

Yeah, like seriously, it is a reaction not a "tell them everything you know" series. Let them react, and if they specifically ask for clarification, give just enough that they aren't confused, but not plot points that will be revealed later, or something that happened early on that with hindsight is obvious.

I hope it gets another chance in a future poll, because yeah that poll was some bullshit. Tengoku got the same as Madoka in the first poll, while Apothecary was far behind, and then Apothecary wins the second poll (partially because of people voting AGAINST Tengoku). Was just really lame.

The comments section i would assume were quite brutal to Luke. Honestly, like many others have mentioned, i think it's totally okay to be lost and confused when watching this - when i first watched it i was lost as well. This anime really does throw you into the deep end and some of the details are tough to bring together on a first blind watch through. Hopefully the comments section can be kinder to you as you continue. Love your reactions!

Just genuinely curious what would give that impression, I would understand thinking people are voting for a shorter anime to get a new chance at the one they want earlier, but if someone aren't gonna be watching either of them anyways, why would they choose to vote for the longer one?

I know you look down on it, but you really should at least write the main character's names, or remember them.. It's not fun to forget the main character's names man. If you did you wouldn't have been so confused about Haruki being not Maru for most of the episode.

If you have anyone helping with your editing and whatnot, have them make you a cute little binder for each anime you start watching. You can have the pictures and names of the cast right in from of you, because shows like Heavenly Delusion are gonna fuck you up, if you can't remember who is who or what they look like. Not telling ya to do extra work, but I could not imagine enjoying a show if I was always struggling to think, "....and they are? Sounds...familier."

I didn't ask you to take notes and I've never done it myself, but I understand why many people do it and enjoy it, I think it's a way to play the role of Sherlock, who puts together pieces of incomprehensible information to solve the mystery conceived by the author before it becomes obvious to everyone. It's clear that you, like me, are not the type of person who will sit and think, I'm also just waiting until everything becomes obvious 😂

I was laughing saying man the comments are going to hate how he is getting people mixed up. Now I realize where this is going and my god it is sickening. This is literally like made in abyss. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same author. Interpretation/spoiler: That doctor dude implanted the brain of the dying brother into his sister's body as an experiment!!! Now this dude be growing children in tubes like clones as indicated by the final after credits scene. This kind of experimentation is as bad as and even worse than the ones done by John Money. Man, I can take a lot of things but child exploitation/experimentation is one of those things I am not willing to cross. It disgusts me on a soul wrenching molecular level. Luke did make some good points. He is doing really well at connecting the dots. Which reminds me....what happened to the sister's brain?

So the doctor put the brothers brain in his sister. I wonder if in her grief she consented to it, or if the sick bastard just chose to do it out of curiosity. I'm also curious if being partially eaten by the man-eater did something to his mind. He had that weird vision of himself and his sister, so maybe the reason the doctor did it is because surviving the encounter altered him in some way? Maybe he's got the same power as the boy he's travelling with or something? Maybe everyone that survives an encounter with those things gains a different ability and that's how the kid in the other place could jump from so high? Really curious to see where this goes. Seems likely the doc works with the Heaven place we saw before too. I wonder if that place is where the orphanage has moved, or if the 'orphanage' is just a cover up for him going around to abduct and experiment on people? Though I'm not sure why the doc would ado a brain transplant and then not stick around to see the results / take them with him? I really can't understand the doc's motives atm.

Maybe the man-eaters are connected to the place the other kids are? Maybe the man eaters aren't really "eating" people so much as collecting DNA? When the encountered the one at the Inn they mentioned how it seemed to be protecting the mother, and I think the boy who can touch them and kill them (forget his name) said that was lingering memories or something? So it's clearly processing and storing people rather than just eating them. So perhaps the heaven place that these kids are at created the man-eaters, or captures them and extracts DNA for clones? Is was torn between androids or modified clones, but clones seem more likely after seeing that kids last picture + my thoughts about man eaters.

You should only look your opponent in the eyes if you have enough experience to read their movements from them. Otherwise staring them down isn't helpful 😂 They only do that in movies because the two going to 1v1 are on eachothers level and a first strike can be fatal. -
