WataMote is one of my favorites. The OP and ED are both good. The story though is not like any you've reacted to yet. It's SOL but a study of social anxiety and (largely self imposed) social isolation. It has a lot of dark humor to it as well. A lot of people find it triggering or uncomfortable to watch. The manga develops the MC's character to a more hopeful conclusion but the anime only covers the beginning of the story and (unfortunately IMO) it never got a second season. To be honest I can't see your current fan base voting for it as a series to react to as there's no swords or sorcery involved.

I'm not sure if you've checked it out yet but the opening to "The Unwanted Undead Adventurer" is pretty neat. Also, it's unrelated to this video but I wasn't sure where to put it, but it would be awesome if you reacted to Bae's new cover for the song "Mind Craft". It has all of Hololive English singing and it's criminal just how little reactions it's got.

BTW, I am a bit concern about Luke keeps starting new long series. Luke already got Hunter x Hunter, Naruto and JOJO, I am a JOJO and Monogatari fan, but I am more worried than happy to see Luke starting JOJO at this moment. Wouldn't the experience being watered down when so many series on-going at the same time? Maybe Luke is a beast, and he can handle all the stuff at once. I cam just concern about there are so many anime on going at the same time.

I love that you finally reacted to Watamote, it's been a long time coming. That opening is really fantastic. The ending is sung by the VA in character and really grew on me as I listened to it more. Watamote is kind of tough for people to watch because it hits a little too close to home. It's about a person who has incredible social anxiety. The things she does and says had me cringing every few minutes, but it was still a fun show. Imagine your most embarrassing moments in your life dialed up to 11, and they happen every episode, sometimes multiple times.

Damn I happy my request was heard 🥹 Kabaneri of the Iron Wall is a great watch imo, it’s an original anime made by WIT studio and by the same producers who worked on AoT, so it resembles AoT a lot, and the music is by Hiroyuki Sawano too. So if you like AoT you gonna like this series as well (of course it by any means isn’t even close to AoT, but still very good). Very unfortunate it has only 1 season and 1 movie (two others are just recaps with a couple of new scenes)

I recommend Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress everyday !!! It's by the same team that did the first 3 seasons of AoT (WIT Studio + Sawano Hiroyuki for the music) and it's a short post apo zombie like anime, it's super quali and super good !!

-Monogatari is produced by studio shaft same studio as Madoka that’s probably why you get the same vibe because they have a distinct style. Also, yes it’s getting a new season(some after story content). -Kabaneri has a game (2nd op you reacted to) and an anime(1st op). the anime was done by wit studio I believe same as the first few seasons of aot, Hiroyuki Sawano took care of the music and the animation is on point, and it’s very epic somehow it didn’t get too popular I guess people found it a bit edgy and kinda similar to aot i enjoyed it tho. - as far as I am concerned apothecary diary was always a pretty popular manga, and the anime production is pretty high quality so it got a few new fans

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress can be described as a "steampunk" setting, in which it is explained at the beginning that a de facto zombie apocalypse (where the zombies are called Kabane) broke out towards the end of the 19th century. The people retreated to large, walled cities and only trains, the "Iron Fortresses", travel between them. The series can be found on Crunchyroll. There is also a sequel film with the addition “Battle of Unato”. You can find it on Netflix, but strangely it was split into three episodes. By the way, the anime comes from WIT Studio, who made Attack on Titan seasons 1 to 3. I can recommend it if you at least like good animations and fights. I think the second opening is actually from a spin-off game for smartphones.

There are several hidden gems for me, in no particular order: The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic Sasaki and Peeps Mr. Villain's Day Off Gushing Over Magical Girls The Unwanted Undead Adventurer My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered... Chained Soldier Metallic Rouge Basically, everything that's come out this year, apparently. And I did not put Solo Leveling just because it's the popular one this year. I just put down the ones I like that I don't hear a lot of people talking about.

My recommendations are Japanese Digimon openings, because they have some nice music and a couple of fun surprises for you to react to. Also Inuyasha is another anime classic from the earlier 2000 years for a lot of people, with Yashahime being a recent sequel series to it. Kabaneri was a high-concept show with a lot of great animation, but the overall quality deteriorated massively during the second half of its first season. It got a great soundtrack and solid action, but the plot is embarrassingly stupid. Might still be worth a watch though.

100% confirm. It starts really good, I liked the idea, I liked the setting. But once they arrive at a certain point and it becomes stupid Humans vs Humans story in an apocalypse setting it feels so stupid and all the cool stuff instantly ends.

Kabaneri is pretty much Attack on titan but with zombies. Personally I feel it's a 7/10, it has animation, but the writing is... def not AOT level.

Nice, you finally reacted to Watamote. I remember recommending it when you asked for weird OPs. I wish you would've made a guess what it's about although the lyrics kind of give it away. Now please do the EDs, at the very least ED1 and ED4. The Dangers in my Heart has great OPs and EDs, you've heard some in your compilations videos. This was my favorite anime last year and S2 has been my favorite so far this year.

Watamote is one of those things I'm glad I was THERE for. The series (at the time a digital only web manga) wasn't, ironically, popular in Japan, but it was getting fan translations and posted on sites like 4Chan which made it so popular the mangaka THANKED them for spreading it around and creating a fanbase before it even got an official print in JAPAN. I own the series on Manga (after it was picked up by Yen Press in 2012) and I absolutely loved it as piece of niche history in my life.

Still hoping you would check out some donghua (chinese animation) OPs. Really recommend: Da Wang Rao Ming (Spare me Great lord), and Wu shan Wu xing (Fog Hill of Five elements). Both have great openings. Plus recommend checking out Lookism, a korean animation with Opening from Ateez.

Yes, getting more Monogatari is a really big thing for us fans that have loved it for so long. I've said before, watch the first season. Then you can decide to make specials of the 3 movies. By then you'll be well hooked. Then it's on to Nise and Neko and so on. But you can take breaks in between seasons. You'll need breaks because your mind will feel like a squashed lemon after a bit of this excellent animé. 💪😂👍

I'd recommend the Mawaru Penguindrum opening, either the first or the second. They both have the same artist and similar vibes. But something very unique especially for it's time.

Apothecary Diaries would probably be better as a YouTube reaction rather than on Twitch, as something you pickup after Frieren or Spy x Family. There are some mystery aspects and because it is less action heavy and more dialog heavy you may need to pay closer attention than you would be able to as a Twitch watch along.

Kabaneri is made by the same people and studio who did Attack on Titan, and yes the entire soundtrack for the show is from Hiroyuki Sawano. I feel that the music for Kabaneri is some of his best work and the anime is definitely worth a watch! Its short though, 12 episodes and a movie. I would also recommend you checking out the ending, Ninelie by Aimer. It's incredible!

Yes, it has it’s flaws plot wise, but they’re not that crucial to cover all the positive aspects of this show and especially to call it “very bad”. I’m sure Luke gonna like this show a lot

Madoka Magica and Monogatari come from the same studio (Studio SHAFT) and share the same legendary lead director (Akiyuki Shinbo, a name you should remember). Speaking of SHAFT and Shinbo, you really should listen to the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei openings, although it might be hard to find all of them without some assistance from someone in the know. There's 3 main OPs but they all have alternative versions that are worth hearing/watching as well.

I agree that there are worse anime, but it's not true to say that most people liked it either. Its MAL rating is 7.27 and its place in the list is 2818, so objectively there are 2817 anime that are better than it. Many people put 6-7 as the minimum rating. For me, there are no anime rated below 7 because 99% of the time they are bad, and anime with a rating of 7.27 is at the bottom of the list of anime that can be watched. That's what I did until I gave up on the 8th episode, the plot is really bad, although the drawing is good. This is my opinion and you don't have to agree with it. Of course Luke will like it, he will "like" any anime he is given to watch, he will never say he doesn't like it so as not to offend the fans 😂

Apothecary Diaries might be a better fit for youtube. Its dialogue heavy and not action based so dealing with chat while watching will make you much more likely to miss things. By all means put it wherever you want though.

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress (first anime) was considered Attack on Titan copycat back when it came out. Sadly it was a bit rushed and by the end it didnt feel like proper anime anymore. other than that it was great anime IMO. Keep reacting to more EGOIST stuff... Highly recommend checking out Fate Apocrypha Opening. Watamote (the last one) is actually a comedy anime

Apothecary Diaries is very good, a slow burn romance that doesn’t take up the entire plot, instead follows the main heroine who loves poison, and using her knowledge as an apothecary to solve bizarre ailments and deaths around the Imperial Palace. I agree it would be more suited to YouTube than twitch, since it’s more dialogue heavy. Overall it’s a very good time!
