2024-01-22 00:56:51 In reference to what you were saying at the beginning, I also got sucked into the show at the start but couldn't keep myself fully invested through a lot of the episodes. The high points of reveals and twists are very good but the show seems to drag along quite a bit. Still an amazing show looking back at it, but I have no clue how Charlie firmly stood on the ground that this was his favorite anime.

2024-01-22 00:56:51 What a cliffhanger, the interpersonal drama amid a war is really heating up here. 20:53: yes indeed Lelouche set the situation up with his Geass, and then pretended that the JLF committed suicide, this is quite an underhanded tactic 24:33 Yes Suzaku's position has also become quite contradictory but is it really any more so than Lelouches position?

He has mentioned this in the past. There is apparently not a huge interest based in the comment section. I second your suggestion. It’s just a matter of others that we either up voting the comment or have enough comments to show we are interested in him watching them.

Nerdbyte

The shower, the water, temperature, close to no visibility - its a sensory overstimulation that 'deafens' all senses. It's a form of numbing exercise that puts you on a contemplative state. We've all been there, I think.

Regarding the pizza. The show was originally sponsored by Pizza Hut, with Pizza Hut logos on every box. There was a marketing campaign in Japan at the time regarding Cheese-Kun, the yellow teddybear with the fedora that C.C. cuddles up to being the Colonel Sanders or Ronald McDonald for Pizza Hut in Japan, PREDATING Code Geass. The version you're watching has the Pizza Hut logo's edited out of everything which is weird for me who watched it back in '06 through less reputable means, rawdogging that product placement. Just imagine C.C. cuddling up to the Hamburglar or Grimace and you'll get how weird it is.

Xitones

About the pizza, Pizza Hut was a sponsor of the anime, so anything there is a blank box, on the original version, there was the Pizza Hut logo, later they removed the logos.

Roxy’s Holy Relic

Cheese-kun makes his first appearance! Suzaku when Zero Kills: Coward, he can’t keep getting away with this! I’m doing things the right way Suzaku when Brittannia kills: War is war, this is completely justified C.C. is definitely best girl. Her vibe when talking shop with Lelouch is unmatched. Diethard joins the crew. Ruthless plan by Zero and who is the only person who can see through it? Diethard, can’t fool a propagandist with propaganda I don’t want to comment too much on the cliffhanger but I feel for Shirley…she’s really going through it. Lost her Dad, has regrets over her forced LuLu rain kiss, and now she finds out the man she loves is the person she hates and her father’s murderer. Tough times indeed

Zero Shonen

Fun fact: The pizza is actually from Pizza Hut, they were sponsors for the anime, every time that you saw a pizza box in the anime, it had the Pizza Hut logo, however, this was removed on different versions due to licensing issues such as the one that you are looking right now (Netflix, Crunchyroll, etc) while in the original, you can still see the Pizza Hut logo. It was easy to always put Pizza Hut everywhere since C.C. is a little addicted to pizza and it had a little funny touch to use that as an advertisement as well. When the logo was removed, the fans took no time to point that out and were not so happy, but nothing major.

The problem is Suzaku has the opposite view, but he has no power or any support to back it up other than the talent he can showcase. Just talk. He just keeps throwing himself head on into everything and hoping it'll be enough. He does eventually get acknowledged and gain power bit by bit as you've seen, but he also almost died many times/ contradicts himself before hand. It's pure luck and plot armor that Suzaku didn't die long ago, you've seen everything that's happened to him so far. So early Suzaku is extremely frustrating and irrational, even annoying, but it gets better. -

Aaren YASS

Considering he waited til the end of AOT to let it top Code Geass, it's likely he factored in the impact of the ending/ endgame episodes contextually into the rating.

Wizhito

I miss pizza Hut stuff

Zero

Love how he is slowly finding suzaku the hypocrite more annoying.

Suzaku is an annoying, walking contradiction. I personally like Kallen. At least she’s consistent in her beliefs. A highly skilled pilot who’s not afraid to jump into the middle of a battle.

saiph

Oh boy if you think these cliffhangers are bad... R2 is known as "Code Geass R2: Lelouch of the Cliffhanger"

Kiril Kupenov

Ye suzaku is the most cuck, hypocrite bastard to ever exist in code geass... He IS the most annoying and ever will be. Hell, Nina is a better character than suzaku... and that's saying something

Animeguy1101

Not sure if Luke realized it or not but Kallen was the one that more directly killed Shirley’s father, she activated the device that caused the landslide metaphorically pulling the trigger to kill Shirley’s father. So she feels just as guilty about his death as Lelouch does.

Ethan Sparks

I checked, and apparently it was removed from the international version. The only version that still has the pizza hut logo is the original pirated release.

Digit

Suzaku is living off of concentrated copium. Everything he does, he does to feel morally comfy.

KeanuofRivia

Got a end of year video idea for you LOL, top 10 worst cliffhanger episodes of the year 😂 ngl your reactions to bad cliffhangers are some of the funniest clips

Lexi

I'm glad Kallen and Lelouch feel bad about Shirley's father dying and don't just brush it off as an acceptable casualty of war. That's how it should be--even if he weren't the father of someone they personally knew, civilian casualties should never be excused. That said, civilian or not, he shouldn't even BE there. He's an unwanted invader on stolen land, and unlike every Japanese person in the show, he has the option of not being there. All the Japanese civilians who were gunned down by Britannian soldiers didn't have that option. And goddamn Suzaku, in his quest to "do things the right way and change the system from within," is literally helping Britannia succeed against Zero and remain in Japan longer; if it weren't for Suzaku and Lancelot handing them wins from the jaws of defeat, some of those Britannian civilians might have fled back to their homeland by now and wouldn't be caught up in things.

Regill Derenge

Best anime ^^ It's my number 1 of all time

Jon

lelouch's plan as he says all the time is to find out why his mother died and to destroy the brittanian empire. he says this but he cant exactly do that all at once so as we have seen so far he is raising resistance, now a group the black knights, now a fully supported group with the JLF support/backing from kyoto, its all small steps to becoming large enough to do that.

Alexa Dietrich

About the pizza, the series was sponsored by Pizza Hut. It's just product placement. The teddy bear is a Japanese Pizza Hut mascot.

Alexa Dietrich

Suzaku's contradiction will make sense soon enough.

Alessus

Yeah, I agree too. Suzaku and Nina are extremely annoying. And considering what happens in the second season, I REALLY fuckin hate Suzaku. Fuck him. Nina's a side character so no one cares, but Suzaku is extremely frustrating.

Karen Porter

That cliffhanger, "Shirley, you can't be serious?!" Sorry, I'll see myself out.

Casey Mitchell

I see Luke, too, has joined the rest of the fandom in hating Suzaku. Good... goooooooood, let the hate flow through you!

Frentzy

I never wanted to say in the comments before that his friend is garbage and a hypocrite but... now I am glad you're seeing that for yourself and you have that take yourself no not from others within comments.

NikoCat11

I fn hate Suzaku too

ArtKi

I think this episode would have hit harder if we had seen her Dad before now. It could have hit like Hughes' funeral in FMA. It still worked... it could have been better. Ref me and Code Geass. I tried to watch this years ago and gave up around episode 8 or 9. This time, I hung in there longer and I'm glad. Starting with ep 12 this series has been FIRE. And it looks like it has hit its stride.

BRUNO Marques

You have seen Shirley's dad. He was on the news when they were kidnapped at the hotel and you see him in Narita evacuating.

rostikowb

If not for the last episodes, this show would have been rated A+, but its ending made it an S. This is what AOT tried to do but failed. P.S I'm not saying that AOT is bad, but its ending at least didn't add points to the show

Hector

Nina is worse in that she's always a racist and bish

Conta Aleatória

I'm on EP 11, so I don't if you already get that, but since the beginning of the anime it let us know that Lelouch is not just a "pure" Britannian but also a prince in the first episodes you did react you seem to think he's half britannian half Japanese, but he isn't!(not a problem, of course, everyone loses some information once, that's why I'm clarifying). That's not a spoiler though :)

Abraham Perez

Him saying C.C. instead of C2 is great, love it since it really isn't mentioned unless you listen to their conversations

Harley Burnie

13:40 I love this Enya-like OST going on. It’s so unfitting for bloodshed, yet so appropriate for the intricacies and complexities of both side of this operation.

Harley Burnie

16:35 YES!!! I was precisely thinking that, too! Like, that was clearly Lalouche’s voice, Kallen! 23:40 Luke, spot on opinion. Kasarugi just gets more and more pathetic with hard desperately hard he clings to “order” and “the way things work.” In every world, anime, hentai, or Saturday Morning cartoon, civilization and the people who live there only grow and become greater by CHANGING how things are going. Kasarugi’s actions scream “This is fine! This is the world I wanna live in, so I’ll stop anyone else from upsetting it. But boy, I do kinda wish killing people of my race wasn’t so legally ambiguous. Oh well.”

Stefan

If you think this is a big cliffhanger just you wait! =)) The reason I said last episode that the most 2 annoying girls from this anime had prime time moments and not just "people" it is because yes, indeed Suzaku is the most annoying&stupid person in this anime, but he'll have cool moments too. We had some nice osts this episode and man this ending is great, somehow I really forgot about this one.

Chrono 1002

Just imagine Shirley shooting Lelouch and end of story. But for real, I don't like Suzaku much either. I rarely like the all good and ideals guy types, they are mostly just annoying. Lelouch's approach sounds way more feasable.

LMPGames

I can't wait for the return of AoT cliffhanger Luke lmaoooo

Antoine Jones

Suzaku doesnt have the change the company... he can still rise to the TOP from the inside, once hes at the top, HE makes the rules.... then Good Britania... just like that. So thats why he would still work for them despite seeing what they do.... thats why I would work for them anyway

FabioSpar

23:40 Thanks Luke. I felt the exact same way when I watched Code Geass 😅 I hated Suzaku in season 1 so much.
