using Black Flash requires immense concentration, preparation and a bit of luck. being able to use at will indicates one being able to use it instinctively, which no sorcerer is able to do... but maybe, just maybe, as indicated by the statement in this episode, Yuji is.

Damn, you really were confused this episode lol. To answer a few of your questions: Mahito finally grasped the true form of his soul, which is what he turned into at the end. That's also what he meant with birthday. He was talking about himself. Black Flash isn't something one can do when they want to. It's just something that happens when they are in the zone. Boogie Woogie is the name of Todo's technique. So when he said "My Boogie Woogie is already dead" he meant that he can never use his clap-technique again.

To help clarify the Black Flash situation, in season 1 it's explained that a Black Flash is a strike where your body and cursed energy operates in perfect sync. It's top form. Following a Black Flash you enter state of clarity where you better understand your energy and what you are capable of. This is compared to "the zone" which is something that athletes talk about where they get in "the zone" and everything just flows, it feels natural and instinctual and right in a way that doesn't normally. Sorcerers can *try* to achieve a Black Flash, but they can't just say "This is attack is going to be a Black Flash" and then that happens. It's a matter of focus, practice and luck. The first time Itadori performed a Black Flash, we had cut backs to an interview with Nanami that revealed he was the record holder for number of consecutive Black Flashes. He got 3 in a row. Itadori, in that fight with Hanami, got 3 as well, tying the record. Now, here, in the present, the narrator said that sorcerers cannot perform a Black Flash on a whim, and she's right. Just because a sorcerer is *trying* to, doesn't mean they'll succeed. Otherwise everyone would be throwing them out all the time. The thing that Mahito was concerned about was that while logically, he knew that was true, in the heat of the moment, it *felt* like Itadori *could* just do it on a whim. That's how in sync he was with his cursed energy. That's how focused he was.

Yuji is strong. In terms of pure strenght, Yuji is even above "just" special grade. But that force isn't applied to any technique. Against domain expansion the only thing that's protecting him, is Sukuna. Yuji can't even do a simple domain, like Todo did. So if anyone attacks him directly with domain expansion, Yuji is done. That's why Yuji isn't as strong as it leds you to believe. He has an obvious flaw that enemy can use against him to win easily.

Plot twist after plot twist. I noticed the opening scene in the opening looks like a death parade. Very fitting for this season. They sure weren't joking when they said mahito had potential to be loads stronger than the rest of his curse friends. This anime episode proved it beyond measure. The guy is too dangerous to live. If he survives, that's an apocalypse-level walking threat.

Jesus, hearing Luke say 'that was cinema' has given me awful flashbacks to the JJK Reddits lol. The pure brain rot during the weekly manga breaks has lead to so many people saying that over weird things. It's just like whiplash hearing Luke say it for a good reason haha

You could think black flash activation same way as you would feel being in the Zone, this is pretty familiar term at anything competitive. While you can give it your all there are still times when for a short time you just feel everything clicking perfectly and no move seems unnecessary. With Black flash there is just the qualifier also that you have to be pretty much at the top 10 persons in your field to be able to do it at all.

Yuji is no where near special grade but he is grade 1 level remember there have only been 4 special grade scorcers gojo geto yuta and one more

This is coming from an anime only but I think Geto offering to save Mahito would be him being absorbed by Geto. He had already implied that he could do it in the Mechamaru fight and with Mahito’s power up and being nearly dead it is a perfect opportunity for Geto.

You mentioned feeling bad for the villains sometimes, and I must say Jogo is the only JJK villain I've felt bad for. His character was actually the most fascinating I've ever seen, both how he was written, and how the author handled his character. Jogo was immensely powerful, in the top 10 of the story, yet only got to fight two of the most powerful characters in the story. He was a curse who hated humans because he believed they harbored only negativity in their hearts and that curses were superior because curses were born of negativity and didn't hide behind "false positive emotions". Yet, Jogo possessed the very thing he hated humans for supposedly "faking". Jogo deeply cared for his friends and also cried tears of joy when he was acknowledged by Sukuna, THE Sukuna, for being strong. He was arrogant at times, yet put aside his arrogance when he made Mahito the "leader" of the Disaster Curses because he saw Mahito's potential and selflessly put Mahito before him. Basically, Jogo failed his own philosophy and failed himself. And he didn't even know it. And to top it all off, Jogo had so much more potential as a character (obviously not a full on redemption arc, but maybe something similar), yet the author killed him off halfway through the story. And that leaves you wondering what could have been if he didn't. This is why I love Gege as a writer.

Todo was in mahito's domain which let's him "touch" you as long as you are inside it. Same thing happened to yuji when he forced his way into it back in season 1

No, you’re not the only one 😃 Damn I love Mahito so much… He is such a great and well written character, his arrogant, childish, creepy and cheeky personality is so appealing and he is just so much fun. Oh, and Jogo and Hanami once said that Mahito is a “mirror”, and you can clearly see it through out the story. When fighting Yuji he’s raging hard, when fighting Nanami he is composed and calm, when fighting Nobara he is cheeky and arrogant. He reflects those he fight, and not the way he fight, but the way he behave. He is great and I love him. I won’t say he is my favorite character, but in top 10 or even top 5 for sure

I think Todo didn't realised that he had the most powerful technique of all sorcerers. No matter who he stands against, even Gojo couldn't stop his boogie woogie from just dismantling his freaking soul&body. And that's even without domain expansion.

Black Flash needs to be charged up, no one can just release it instantly, the time lag is what Yuji use to do he hits something with normal curse energy then charges and uses black flash, Boogie Woogie is Todo's technique that he claps to do.

to land a black flash, you have to unleash your cursed energy onto the opponent within one-one-millionth of a second before impact, making it basically impossible for a person to use it at will, not even gojo can do it at will.
