I really hope that after the Fate heavens feel movies eventually we circle back around to The Garden of Sinners (kara no Kyoukai) movies because Luke should see them someday. Same author and studio that made fate stay/night. I highly recommend the movies but they are 100% Patreon exclusive from their content. Super dark even Moreso than fate. Also the ending songs are all full length and done by Kalafina with Yuki Kajiura as the composer for the OSTs. If you like the first song "Oblivious" I think that you will like the rest of them also.

In case you're worried about Illya, Fate route is much happier for her. She goes living with Shirou in the mansion. Just a reminder that Fate/Stay Night (the game) has 3 routes (Fate, UBW, HF) and multiple endings, and MANY bad endings. This allows them to explore lore and character building even in scenes that would end the story prematurely. Ex.: in Fate route Illya invites you (Shirou) to ally with her. If you accept it she tortures and kills you. That's also the first time we're introduced to her homunculi maids. This is a bad ending, so it wouldn't show in anime with a fixed story, but the game allows for it. In the game you need to play the previous routes to unlock the next. That means by the time you got to UBW you already played the whole "Fate" Route. Same thing for HF, you already played through Fate and UBW routes. Each route reveals different parts of the lore. Sometimes it gives a hint of something like Archer knowing both Saber and Illya in Fate's route before the reveal that Illiya's Kiritsugu's daughter and that Archer is Shirou in UBW route. When you complete a route it suggests you to go back to a certain chapter and you will get new options unlocked. Example: You enter UBW route when Shiro uses a command seal to make Saber stop attacking Archer in the beginning. In your first playthrough you don't have that option. "Fate" route has Saber as love interest and it's kind of the canon route. Meanwhile, "Unlimited Blade Works" route has Rin as love interest and as the name suggests it's focused in Archer as well (You would already know that Archer has a move called Unlimited Blade Works which he uses against Berserker). This route has 2 endings. "Good" ending and True ending. Note that Archer in this route is the future Shirou from Fate route. Finally, "Heaven's Feel" has Sakura as love interest, and I won't spoil anything. But since you Already watched Fate Zero. They already mentioned Heaven's Feel as a goal multiple times. It has 2 neutral endings and the True ending (which is also considered canon).

The more you find out about the Lore the better and better Fate becomes. And also the other IPs like Tsukihime, Kara no Kyoukai, and The witch on the Holy night also add enjoyment between them. Super good

The Heaven's Feel movies are definitely Patreon-only. Nudity and all that. If Code Geass is Patreon-only, Heaven's Feel 100% is as well.

The heavens feel movies should be streamable since there’s only one scene that has nudity of that level but nothing explicit shown Before the scene begins the movie blatantly hints what will happen so it’s extremely easy to cut this scene from playing on twitch and have Luke watch it on his end and continue normally once it’s over I don’t think luke will do exclusive partreon reaction to the movies anytime soon if he doesn’t do it on stream so that is my suggestion for us to get the HF reaction quicker! (He has a lot of extra previously watched anime’s to go through + madoka magica and code geass!)

I think Grand Order is way more enjoyable as a late watch. Is much more fun when you get to see characters you already knew from different series. I would say he should at least watch Apoc before starting Grand Order, at least, if not Last Encore as well.

I just can't be hyped about Solo leveling. I watched the original manhwa(Webtoon) and I also watched the trailers. They look good. But GOD DAMN they avoid showing certain something ####This is a spoiler non spoiler. There are "shadow" creatures in the story and those are part of the fights. There are hundred of those creatures. And you see those creatures for +70% of the story. Even 1 of those 'creatures' look SO GOOD that you probably need best animation studio ufotable to animate them correctly. They didn't show even one in trailers which means they either plan to end s1 before introducing them or q_q it's gonna be bad CGI that won't do it justice. I said creature to avoid spoilers.

I had the opinion before that 'Zero is better written,' because it has more nuance and better characters. But gosh the way the events happening, the amount of times people just hang around with their mortal enemies, that fights are stopped for no good reason, the constant nerfing of Saber, the fact people don't go at it, that opposing Servants just team up casually. This is a war! I want servants to team up to be an exception, not the rule, and that's how it feels in Zero.

Agreed that you should be able to call yourself a Fate fan before you commit to the "spin-offs" or divergent works. Not only do they require somewhat of a foundational understand of the Fate universe, but the fact that they often have entirely different characters can be a turn-off for some. This is where I think Apocrypha actually shines. Even though it has tons of issues, it's a very good transitional anime from the main Fate story to the rest of the derivatives. Last Encore though... we don't talk about that one.

for me it's the characters and servants that really carry zero, especially the fact we see each ones motivations and reasoning but its hard to call it better written with all the reasons youve mentioned, also, its important to mention they needed to also fit with ore established lore from stay night which probably sidnt make their job easier

wow i am late but simply put shiro is a moron. his mindset is he want to save everyone which is impossible for anyone unless you can control time. in his if there are 10 people who need help have he walks into an obvious trap which will have him at death door in a few mins it is worth it because he tried to help even though those people will die after he does. his well being does not matter which is one of the biggest reasons he will never be able to save people, you cannot save anyone if you are dead or cannot move.
