Yes that 1 scene in ep 3 is the majority of the nudity present in the entire show, there is 1 more that will come some time from now, but it is extremely brief and minor by comparison, there are also a couple other references to sexuality but those 2 scenes are the only ones with nudity. 2. Lelouche's plan was basically to have Kallen speak to "Lelouche" while he is in the same room. That it happened in the bathroom was probably improvised, because of the champagne accident.

You may enjoy the dub more than sub purely because Code Geass is a very dense show, there are entire show wide plots developed through comments made in passing, it can be quite hard to keep track of it all especially if you have to read and watch at the same time. Definitely a show worth watching many times to catch everything.

Yes, as far as I can remember, that is the only "nude" scene in the series, and we still didn't get more than we saw in the bath scene in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

This isn't as applicable nowadays, but there was once a 3-episode rule in anime: think about what sorts of things you got in this first hour of these episodes. Mechs, political intrigue, murder mystery, shower scene, goofy slice of life school - NOW we can start the full show!

You’ll find out the line of Britanian Succession in this world has mostly no sympathy for each other, with a few exceptions. But hey only 3 episodes in and so many more characters to introduce! We’ve only just begun to fall down this rabbit hole. And things only get crazier from here. But now we have the more present bisect between the Britainian/Japanese conflict and School slice of life. A small production note. This was an odd co production between two anime power houses. The Mecha war influence is due to the majority of the series being made by Sunrise, more commonly known for the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. On the other side character design was handled by CLAMP, a group of women artists more known for series like Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits, Xxxholic and more. The majority of the characters thin lanky designs are pretty much in their design style. As far as the nudity goes it’s spread out across the series fairly well and this is the worst case of it overall. Most of the time it’s more implied but there are more occasional full body shots like this one. I think the majority of it is in the first season/half of the series. Once they get to the R2 part of the series it’s less nudity and just sexy posing.

I usually prefer the sub, but there is so much plot you can easiely miss because it's only mention in passing in this show. And there are already things that were clearly stated only for luke to ask a answered question a second later. So I think it would be best for luke to watch the dub of this show, so he won't miss as much and can concentrate on his reaction.

Might read the entire post. There are other implied incidents that don’t give full shots with at least three examples coming to mind. And at least the one full other scene. I’m not saying I remember everything perfectly over the course of the series but considering I’ve owned the series for over a decade and watched it close to yearly I do have a decent recollection of events.

Kallen is also one of my favorite characters for the reasons you mentioned. She's a badass and knows how to take care of herself. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty and, like you saw, was literally holding a knife to Lelouch in the shower haha. For the Britainian line of secession (the half brothers, etc... for Lelouch) think GoT in terms of how they look at each other. They aren't brothers in the sense we think of but more competing against each other for power. To clarify things that have been said so far (without spoilers): His mother wasn't Japanese (Lelouch is a pureblood Britainian) but she was a commoner. So she wasn't born into nobility and a lot of nobles didn't like her for that. Lelouch said he thinks that's why she was killed. Lelouch also said later in this episode that he's being supported by the Ashford family (that runs the school) to stay hidden but he doesn't know how long that will last. If people found out he and his sister were alive he's worried that his friends and backers would abandon him. The half-brother thought Lelouch (and his sister) were dead and so does the rest of his "family". So thats part of the reason he shot his half-brother because he doesn't want anyone to know he's still alive. He thinks that he and his sister would be given up to the nobles to be political pawns or just killed if they found out about them. And for the phone call, he said he lives on campus and that he went back to his place to get a change of clothes for Kallen (you can see its actually the jacket he was wearing at home). So when he was at home getting clothes for her, he passed the recording onto their maid and used his power on her to make her place the call. So he already knew about Kallen being in the shower at that point. Now weather or not he purposefully doused Kallen to start that chain of events or just took advantage of the situation is anybody's guess. Lastly, this next part isn't really a spoiler, just info about why Milly (the council president) has that air of being in charge that you mentioned. She is part of the Ashford family. So her family runs the school (Ashford Academy) but you've probably learned that by now since you're a few episodes ahead.

This is not the only nudity present. It's not frequent and usually much less prominent than in this episode. BUT, there is one scene in particular later on with a very brief but also very clear show of the nips. That one is the real reason for Patreon-exclusive.

Lelouch killed his brother for a few reasons: 1. He saw his face and he couldn't leave without him restarting the culling order and ordering his guards to capture him. 2. His death would mean that higher up will come to Japan to fill the power void, since he was the viceroy of the region, so someone would need to come to rule in his place.

Note what topics the teacher told lelouch about "the humiliation of Edinburgh" "The transfer of the capitol to the new world" and "the North-South war". So i feel pretty safe in saying that the sequence of events goes something like this: The Americans loose/don't begin the independence war . The British suffer devastating defeat in Edinburgh and as a result loose the British isles, and because of that, transfer the capital to North America where they later consolidate North America, And invade South America.

I'm starting to notice more of this world's history/worldbuilding casually sprinkled into the background of these early episodes than on previous watches. I think I might start collecting some of those tidbits in the comments here (don't worry, it's never plot/character-relevant). Two significant drops this episode. Here's what we learned: [no spoilers] 1. The professor's exam topics were (a) "The Humiliation of Edinburgh," (b) "The Transfer of the Capitol to the New World," and (c) "The North-South War." We can safely assume this is all Brtiannian history and roughly sequential, since this is the main exam content. It seems Britannia (a) suffered a major loss at Edinburgh (which didn't occur in our world), eventually leading to (b) a retreat/exile of the ruling powers to North America. The viewer can guess, then, that (c) The North-South War, is probably how Britannia gained dominion over South America and/or our Canada. 2. In class while Kallen is side-eying Lelouch, Lelouch answers the teacher by naming two "factors:" (a) a "concentrated" effort to hyper-educate the aristocrats and (b) "speed." Since Lelouch speaks in past tense, I suspect the question he's answering is something like "Why was it so easy for us to stomp everyone else during the good ol' days?" Thus, Britannia teaches its children that their "strong breed" of aristocrats are the backbone and true superpower behind their nation.

I was that kid that was "the smart kid who's always skipping class" and the reason you never hear about it irl is because the best anyone could actually do with no attendance is a C average. A lot of anime forget that you have to actually be in class to turn in assignments, even if you keep up with them while you're "out sick."

Usually everyone I know directly draws the line to Death Note and compared Lelouch with Light. But so far he didnt make that comparsion once. The pacing of the first episodes is also quite similar to Death Note.

I don't think it's so surprising that he killed his half-brother. In the first place, after he revealed himself, he had no other choice if he wanted to keep his identity a secret. Well, technically he didn't know that his power wouldn't work on him a second time, but he would have realized if he tried, so no other way. And just because they are related that doesn't mean they were close. Many times family relations are more toxic and full of hate than any other.

I think the two who performed a "coup" are more of a fraction in the military against the honorary britainian system and prefer the britainian "pure blood" as they mentioned. They stay loyal to prince Clovis while exploiting his death to frame suzaku, an honorary britainian.

Just let him get how the world works in this anime at his pace, it's not that Luke is not getting what's happening, it's just that he likes to question everything and make a theory about many things, that for us who have watched it seems odd or out of no where. Honestly, I don't think the dub would be that much of a difference, it's just how Luke is and what I like about his reactions

I was always like that in school. I always got sick and missed out on school pretty often. Sometimes I pretended to be sick to not go to school. My grades were still good some how. I remember in eighth grade I got sick and hospitalized but still kept a 3.8 GPA by the end of the year. In college first semester I got struck by a car and had to drop two courses but aced the other two courses I was taking. It's not cliched. Of course, I wasn't participating in a rebellion while away from school :).

the "in the previous episode" summary at the start of every episodes doesnt happen in certain episodes, and in some episodes they actually include new information during the narration, so it's best to not skip them just in case you miss anything out yea

something i really like about this episode is that they show you Lelouch reacting to the memory of what he did to his brother, going to the bathroom because killing your own brother/half brother at point blank cant be good for any persons mental health, and they show him vomiting to that memory. he might be able to wage war with peoples lives, have supernatural abilities to control peoples minds, but he is still human at the end of the day.

Just for some lore on the story (without spoilers), the empire that the story is taking place (The Holy Britannian Empire) is basically the UK if the USA didn´t get their independence, and Napoleon invaded and conquered Great Britain, the royal family escaped to America, started to rule by decree and slowlly started to conquer America and big part of the wold eventually, creating colonies (Areas, just like Area 11 (Japan)) That is why on the intro of each episode so far the Holy Britannian Empire is shown as America.

It’s incredibly fast paced and never really slows down so it can be easy to miss a lot on a first watch through, especially if you’re filming a reaction. This is definitely one of those series that I recommend going back and rewatching after you finish because you can catch so many new things on a second viewing ^^

And since his mother died to an assassination and he wanted to “obliterate Britannia” it explains why he didn’t hesitate when he killed his brother

the origin of pinky promises is unknown. the japanese just have a custom of applying sayings to things. for example: Oni-san kochira te no naru hou e." meaning "mr. ogre come to me clapping my hands." kids sing this while playing a land based Marco-polo style game.

Nope, he is FULL Britannian. Her mother was a Commoner, not born from the nobility, but she was Britannian as well. They just happened to be living in Japan when the invasion ocurred, and she was killed

There isn't really a well documented progression of how other countries developed Pinky Promise whether it was from Japan or developed independently but Japan definitely has the origin that dates back the furthest by quite a while some estimates putting it in the 1600s. The Japanese word for Pinky Promise 'yubikiri' more literally means Finger Cut-off. The origin is actually why Yakuza who fail in an assignment were known to cut off their own finger to present to their boss to make up for it.
