Here is the FULL and UNBLURRED reaction to FRIEREN Episode 10!!!

Enjoy!!

Comments

Sebastian Stróż

Fuck yeah! Was waiting whole day hoping we will get a Frieren today!

BornOfOsiris

You bless us Luke. I was hoping you got to this one quickly

Tinkerlin

The way I see it, it's the demons view of magic is akin to a chess player's idea of strategy, even sides all around, full view of the enemy's forces, a head on battle. And Flamme believes that it doesn't matter what you need to do, you make sure you get that win, hide your moves, conceal your abilities, anything to get an edge. The Demons call it cheating cuz to them you just put out another queen on a chessboard out of nowhere.

Fusssel

Frieren being as cold as her name in the end :D

TheBigOhm

I've heard of people walking away from explosions like a badass, but walking away from self-decapitation? "Frieren the Slayer" indeed

Mash Köhlitz

thanks again for the awesome reaction

dani oz

"Underrated" as in shot right to the number 1 spot on MALs top 100. Well, atleast until the FMAB fans come through to review bomb it

Yami Youssouf

Are you alright? NO I AM NOT MILET

TheElementalerWars

This was my absolute favorite episode of the season thus far, and I loved your awesome reaction to it. Makes rewatching it even more fun!

BornOfOsiris

Loved your response to the ED at the end. Hilarious 😂

Tsusaku Cohenat

Fern is probably strong, but her speciality is speed. She is quicker, with casting, than Frieren, She was most possible somewhat strong before Frieren took her in and got better at time. Thats why she was able to fight the blood demon to a stallmate. Even thouth the demon had lived for hundreds of years, they both were mostly at the same level (though Fern was probably because of her speed able to hit him and defend from him, while he did no hit her) he himself realized, he wont be able to exhaust her mana (even though she looked like she has not that much), before his own deplates, thats why he asked the girl demon to help him.

XT 421

The reveal and ending is pretty close to perfect. The musical swell, the banter back and forth, the casual certainty Frieren has, and then the POV from Aura's head as Frieren doesn't even look back at her foe - it wasn't even a competition for her.

Marcio Neves

Oh yes, the showdown. This was EPIC. Kinda reminds me of one of the very few good moments of X-Men: Apocalypse, the "Unleash your power!" moment, near the end of the movie 😁 And everything was plaintly shown and explained, leading to the satisfactory ending of the conflict 😁 5:09 I am still at this point, but I am PRETTY SURE your question has been answered in this episode. The DEMONS sees the word, the magic, in that way. That's way they believe it to be "unfair" 😁 22:47 that moment is quite telling of how long of a life Frieren has lived. The small village with a few houses grown to a full city/feud over time, and when Himmel & Co. come to recruit her, there's nothing but rubble

Toasterfinal5

Loved Flamme’s explanation of how Humans find importance showing status & wealth while Demons find it by showing their level of mana. Neither side feeling compelled to show it for a long time. Unless, it serves a temporary purpose.

ArtKi

19:53 "I see the Demon King is 100..." Then the demon king looks at you and says, "IT'S OVER 9,000!" 23:56 TITLE DROP! Even an english speaker can hear that one.

Some0neElse

Frieren be like: Cool guys dont look at explosions - they walk away in slow motion :D

Saskatchatoon24

"I think she's F***ed!" great line

Adam Saunders

I've been waiting for you to get to this episode and the reaction was so worth it!!!

Albireo

Frieren really channeling that Low Tier God energy

lxForce21xl

Doom Slayer would be proud.

Jay P

I knew you'd like the flex moment xD

Valde

Are you ever going to react to Demon Slayer?

James H. Hobbs

I think my favorite part about this particular scene, is that it's set up like they were going to have an epic battle. Frieren the Slayer versus Aura the Guilotine and her army at the end of the last part. And then suddenly everything changes and just like Aura gets tricked, so do they try and trick the reader/viewer.

Izumi Keiper

We all know that Frieren downfall is fated, but I'm absolutely happy to have dethroned FMAB for 2 weeks.

Avis Pakaya

"Aura, the person standing before you is a mage who's lived for over a thousand years" into "kys" line are cold af

FinalMasterM

I like that you casually explained Power Levels (a trope made popular by Dragon Ball) with the example of you and the demon king, lol, but Frieren kinda slips that aside as there's also techniques and even new magic being made. Remember despite beating the Demon King, the party of heroes couldn't beat Qual and were only able to push Aura back enough for her to retreat before. Also there's a lot of nuance you can miss in this episode. Her flashback shows just how old she is. The architecture, clothing, and even reading from scrolls, as where current time is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Also Aura the "Guillotine" dying by beheading herself, as she had done all her pawns, chefs kiss.

Gabriel Pires

Aura: *kills herself* Ending song: aRe YoU aLrIgHt???

axilir21

It should win a poll in the next 6 months max in my opinion

Ttsukasa

I'm laughing SOO MUCH "I DON'T THINK SHE IS MILET!!! ME NEITHER!!"

Toasterfinal5

Yes. Hide it to serve a purpose, like stealth. 8:09 Flemme explains how they take pride in their magic (mana).

Robert Franklin

I thought he mentioned in one of his reactions that it was coming up soon. But I could be wrong

Mihaly Szamak

Poor Flamme getting called thick viscous substance in the respiratory passages instead of Flame :D

rostikowb

I don't think Freyren deserves the first place, but I hope it stays there, I can't see such an overrated anime as FMAB on the first place

Dj

I think it was this very episode that rose Frieren to the #1 spot on myanimelist

Dairenji

Maybe in your circle of viewers Frieren was less known. But it was the most anticipated new show of the season...and was topping ranking lists after the first week...so...it was never really underrated...

LordDanzo

People just hate on FMAB because it's (was?) in first place. There is crazy fans that review bomb for every anime, not just FMAB. Both are perfectly acceptable anime to have the top spot imo.

LordDanzo

This episode is so well written and directed, that just by showing you Frieren's mana you get so much hype. No crazy fighting or animation needed. Also, this show does the whole backstory before a fight really good. We've seen examples in other anime how you can disrupt to flow of the fight or episode by interupting a fight with backstory. But in Frieren, it only enhances the experience imo.

GTB

What do you mean by underrated? Frieren is the new anime with the biggest hype of the season, and probably of the year. It's barely 2 months old and it's already number 1 of all time on MyAnimeList (and a very high score everywhere). There's plenty of reactions to it on youtube. I think you were talking about popularity. Because yes, Jujutsu Kaisen or One Piece (Demon Slayer etc) are much more popular. But that's the way it is, you can't compare a new anime like Frieren with nekketsu series that have been around for a while. nekketsu are always more popular. Many people start or only watch action nekketsu. They're not the most interesting, let alone the best (imho), but they're easy to watch (plenty of fighting, a classic narrative structure calibrated to be satisfying). They're like the "Marvels" of anime. But Frieren will keep airing until March. And there will be another season. Its popularity will grow with time....and you're not ready, Frieren hasn't finished surprising you :). Otherwise, the other big anime of the autumn season: Pluto, The Apothicary Diaries.

GTB

Valde > Not looking forward to Luke starting this one. He's got a lot of better anime to see first.

Bluestar

A fun reaction as always. But what is it with reactors and being unable to comprehend why a mage suppressing their mana would be an afront to magery. From a combat perspective its like bringing a pistol to a knife fight, it's the smart way to fight but obviously dishonorable since you're hiding your capabilities. But even from the perspective of a person fascinated by magic it's like trained chef choosing to only make instant noodles despite their skill. OF course there's always the discussion to be had on whether skill is obligation which ties into the pride aspect of demon culture, if you're good at something you're obligated to pursue it so as not to squander your potential. But for real though, even before the show explicitly states the inworld explanation for it, I feel it is pretty self explanatory.

Dairenji

Watching reactions to that ending is always a pleasure. This episode for me is peak Frieren. It's an absolute masterclass in storytelling.

dpolaristar

Frieren isn't even close to underrated it was one of the most hyped shows of this season.....

ZckFox

Fern is strong but mana-wise probably not as high capacity as the demon she fought if age is a factor in their mana size, both of the demon minions were alive during the Hero party adventure years before Stark or Fern were born. Fern also won in a similar way to Frieren in that her opponent also misjudged her mana capacity. He assumed that if he kept fighting defensively he could wear her down and she'd deplete all her mana, but that gave Fern the opportunity to keep wailing him with spells faster than he could keep up.

Fay X84

A Hollywood action movie scene with less effects, but a more badass sensation!

Jacob Langone

I would like to throw 10 Billion % of my support for the big anime behind Jojo's Bizzarre adventure. The first season can be a slog, mainly in the middle, but once you get to the end of season 1, everything is a 10/10 banger. I strongly prefer jojo to the entire Dragon Ball franchise. Hunter x Hunter is a 10/10 for me as well, but I prefer JoJo. I can't wait for Part 7 to finally come.

dpolaristar

Its literally currently #1 on MAL literally everyone is reacting/talking about it, its doing huge numbers. In what world is that underrated?

AngieAngelFish

[ED Starts} Are you alright.... Luke "I don't think she is Millet" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That is hilarious

Seraph

Sounds like someone who just watches popular shounens lol

Valde

How come? He will laugh, cry and get hyped. What else do you want from a show? Obivously it’s not Aot level writing but it’s still a good show regardless

BRUNO Marques

Total mana output is not enaugh to take on all opponents. Otherwise Flamme or her master would have taken the fight to the Demon king. Also, no human would ever be capable of fighting the more powerful older demons, yet that was not the case. There's more to this magic system.

BRUNO Marques

Aura fled from Himmel. She refused to face the party directly and left her post. She stayed hidden until Himmel died. Also, Qual was weaker than the 7 sages and the Hero party did defeat some of those. The nature of his magic was just unstoppable at the time.

Stefan

Yes, yes, yes! She’s definitely not alright🎵😂 I did expect too a flex, but this kind of flex from Frieren, didn’t think she is the type to care about this so much, but in the end she loves magic (even for different reasons)

Saitama

Ga e me a litle of eminence in shadow vibes with the reveal

Frentzy

he said on other anime reactions after re:zero demon slayer most probably

Harley Burnie

Sadly, I have no interest in, or hate, all of those “big animes” you named. Well, you’re always reacting to something I love. I hope you get around to Tsukimichi, since season 2 starts in January. I lose track of how long between votes.

Harley Burnie

24:00 Based on what Aura says here, I do believe I’ve learned something potentially very badass. This fantastic, gorgeous, inspiring, heart aching anime is titled “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.” However, Aura’s internal monologue just called her “Sōsō no Furīren.” The subs translate that as “Frieren the Slayer.” “Sōsō no Frurīren,” being the actual title of this anime, means “Burial rites(Funeral) Frieren.” How fucking cool is that?!?!?

Harley Burnie

27:45 That….lovely savagery of Frieren letting Aura end her +500 years by her own hand, because she fucked up. Ah. It just feels anime righteous.

Nathan McCabe

over a thousand years of maintaining and building her mana to inch closer to what massive mana her human master had upon their meeting. This is one more reason why Frieren feels like she is in the shadow of her master.

AchmodinIV SWE

I caught that from the previous episode when the executioner leader called her that too

Eric

*2 weeks later* 🥹

Pakom

Time is but a concept of illussion; I am not waiting; I am suffering to get the itch.

Kot Bajun

This is honestly the episode of the year among all shows which I watched so far this year. The only one which matched it as far as how cool that was is the one from One Piece, (the drums of liberation) not to spoil too much for those who haven’t gotten there yet in the show.

rakka

Frieren pulled some Ainz Overlord shit in this one

Dethrox

i'd said conceal and supress are two different things :D like they conceal their magic to make themself invisible.. but they dont compress it to make them looks like weaker opponents.. if that make sense :D

Dethrox

kinda wish.. Frieren would make Aura her obedient puppet :D but i guess not with such hatred to demons :/ :D understandable

Lareolan

Yes, there's also the factors of effort and pure talent. It's not quite the linear equation of "you train for X years, your mana reserve will be Y".

Fabien

Actually, it's possible to match Frieren's mana while being a human (after all, Flamme is the legendary mage), but let's say elves have a huge advantage, almost an unfair cheat for magic: time. So for a human to be a match during their short lifespan, they'd need to be way more naturally talented than the elven mage. At least for mana and technique, speed seems to be something more innate that can hardly be trained, that's why Fern already surpassed Frieren in that regard. That's the only thing you can't compensate with training, so it's likely be the forte of Fern during all her life as human mage.
