The thing with the Dad and him saying that Shinichi is "made of steel" is pretty obvious I think. They lost their wife and mom respectively and Dad is still in a very pathetic state while it seems like Shinichi already moved on which from even outside human perspective looks weird, right? Because no regular person can recoil from such a traumatic experience so fast. That's why he said that Shinichi is "made of steel" in a way that he's tough like steel in a psychological and emotional way

There are no non-evolved animal species, we as a primate species Homo sapiens are not the pinnacle of evolution as it has no purpose. Especially when you consider that 50,000 years ago we coexisted with at least three sister species of humans whose brains are not that proportionately smaller than ours.

There's a natural sense of something that looks human, but isn't. There's 99% chance that its because we had to fight against, much stronger, neandearthals amongst other kinds of humans, so we got pretty good at perceving if someone is not homo-sapiens. But there's also this 1% that we had other things to worry, and it was so important for our growth, that almost everyone has it.

Tbf, if my mom got murdered like that, I'd probably be broken at first but I'd have so much internal rage I'd probably become like Shinichi and get stronger, or fly off the handle at any stressful situation/ provocation. But I'd definitely choose to become stronger and refuse to lose anything/ anyone else like Shinichi. -
