I said on stream that you predicted "that ep9 reveal", vague in case someone in chat was watching for the first time with you, and saying so from memory, so I went back to check, and you apparently didn't quite predict it, but you acknowledged the foreshadowing for it, saying "Two high school students are missing as well... Alright. I feel like that might be a red herring." I might have just remembered it incorrectly, and I might have mixed it with some other reaction of Mushoku I've watched... Edit: Also, one of your predictions here....

The last time I tried to avoid spoilers talking about Fitz glasses, but now I can give some info from the LN. Fitz glasses are normal sunglasses without any magical effect. But there are copy rings (transmitter/receiver) that allow the wearers to take the features of the other person as a doppelganger. Unfortunately, there are two flaws to the rings. 1. They cannot change the voice. → that is why Fitz/Ariel have to stay silent (Silent Fitz) 2. They cannot change the eyes colors → that is why Fitz have to constantly wear Sunglasses. It is some sort of camouflage in case Ariel’s brother or the Minister sends assassins again.

Congratulations on successfully pitching your tent Rudy! Proud of you. Good slice of life episode with some Fitz jealousy POV sprinkled in. Tensions are rising between Rudy and Sylphie as we head into the climax of the school arc. I always feel a little down when an arc comes to an end, April 2024 can’t come soon enough. Buckle up If possible I’d watch episodes 11 and 12 together but I understand if you can’t due to time constraints. Code Geass wasn’t my first choice in the poll but it’s been a few years since I’ve seen it and I’m looking forward to revisiting it again

1.- You got wrong one thing, the mana disaster wasn't caused by Rudy, it was caused by the backlash of Nanahoshi being transported to this world. They didn't added it to the dialogue, but she appeared right in the middle of Fitoa and since everything was teleported away she almost died by walking a long time not finding anything, it was Orsted who picked her up. As Rudy had mentioned before, this world has a rule that it says that "Humans cannot be summoned". So by summoning Nanahoshi it was similar to "breaking the code" of the world and the mana disaster was the "bug" that happened because of it. 2.- This wasn't explained too deep but Ariel has a magical item that lets her change her image, 2 rings to be precise. Sylphie puts one ring and sends "her image" to the person who is wearing the other ring (Ariel). By doing this, Ariel can change her image. This has saved her before in assassination attempts. However, this is not perfect. so It doesn't change some things. For example: - It doesn't change eye colors, hence why Sylphie wears the sunglasses - It doesn't change the voice, hence why she has to stay silent while working - It doesn't change body composition, hence why Rudy felt that the Fitz in the market looked a bit different. So staying close to Rudy was dangerous since he knows Fitz too well and by having him close for a long time might expose who she really was. The anime cut off this, but there were legitimate political reasons of why Ariel's faction were careful about Rudy. And after the incident with Badigadi Ariel was fearful of him.

This is when all the waiting gets paid off. And I loved it when I watched it. Cannot wait for the next season. Also just a side note (no spoiler), the reason why Soldat, the leader of Stepped Leader was there was because Badigadi (the six arm, purple, muscular man) actually stirred up a storm making his way to the University, so the guild had asked for many S Class Parties, including our lovely Stepped Leader with Soldat, to come and fight Badigadi. He didn't destroy anything or fought anyone, just made his way to Rudy. But of course we know that Rudy won the fight so all of the parties that came to fight just stayed there for a while. That's why Soldat sent a letter to Rudy to go have a drink. There's more to it, but nothing really important after that. Other than that, Mushoku Tensei is just amazing. Can't wait to see your reactions to the last episodes.

I even gave you the source where to find it. But even for those who don't want to search the LN, the first google search you can see on fandom websites it says this exact same info. I only gave the source because some people have trust issues for some reason even tho every info is easy to research. "how did you find it tho" 1. Searched a fandom website, found the name of the glasses 2. Google advanced the name of the glasses 3. Found a website that gave me the chapter and volume of that exact page 4. How long it took me? under a minute..... It took more to write this comment smh

The irony of him not recognizing Ariel as Fitz and being mad at Rudy for not recognizing Sylphy as Fitz, why? They just had different hair and glasses; fair enough, she didn't speak. It's almost as if the level of detail that an anime is allowed to have in its drawing can make this situation more stupid. Also, everybody said at this point that they were using a magic item that changed their appearance. Read some comments and consider what people are saying. When people say these things, it is not a stab at you; it is just information.

Ok, I was sure you were thinking about that part. Actually the first part just describes...the principle of ordinary sunglasses. It hides the top of the face. At no point in the story is there the slightest hint that this is a magical power. Not at that moment, nor anywhere else afterwards... although there's no shortage of occasions to say that Rudy doesn't recognize Sylphie because of this power. And curiously, it's the only magical power of an object that's never clearly mentioned (unlike Ariel's or Nanahoshi's rings, gloves, etc.). But, ok...Let's take a look at the wiki fandom's "magic Tools and Magic Idems" description of these sunglasses: "A pair of sunglasses that aids in the detection of enemies." nothing else.

A bit of inward homophobia. Rudy can’t possible be anything but straight, so Fitz must be a woman. I don’t like it, but it’s very realistic. Plenty of the characters in the series have flaws and Rudy has arguably the most. It would’ve been nice if Rudy accepted that even if Fitz truly was a man, that he’d at least be an exception and still pursue his love.

This is now my own theory with the disaster and Rudi based on other animes. I suspect that no disaster was caused by Rudi's arrival because he only came as a soul or spirit and was thereby reborn. She only arrived 10 years later than Rudi with the disaster because she arrived in her body. So I assume that souls can enter this world more easily than bodies, so for comparison, Rudi Kamm enters this world as a breath of wind and she enters this world as a meteor

Something that might be relevant... it's my understanding that either to this day, or until quite recently, Japan was very taboo on people being gay... which honestly makes Rudy's relatively casual acceptance of the possibility more impressive, even if that's not quite what was going on.
