Comments

TheIdIsTaken

damn i am early today

Thamor

"It's not me, it's my hand!!". PS. Everything behind me is horror movie related, while I can only see Tanjiro and All Might figurines which I really don't associate to horror :D

Nyarlathotep

of course its retro. the manga came out in 1988.

AchmodinIV SWE

the girl asked because Shiniji was acting strange. and she switched hands probably because his right hand felt weird

Nathan

Once you start farther in i recommend another listen to the intro and the lyrics. They tie in fantastically

Arctic

Its kind of funny how the "person related to an investigator" trope is in a lot of anime. Its even if The Garden of Sinners(Kara no Kyoukai) series, but that is more of a murder mystery than horror.

Fay X84

The scene with the cat just proves that Migi was right in saying that the creatures to demons. By the way, although it is not funny, "Migi右 was right" is a random pun.😅 Concerning the last mating scene, you’ll understand the meaning in the next episode. Also sorry if it is a little bit spoilerish but even if the Anime is only one season, there is no need to worry. Because it will cover the totality of the Manga. Anyway it will get more and more interesting so keep on enjoying the show 👍

Daniel Griffiths

'everything behind me is horror related'.... i look and first thing i see is allmight lmao i love it XD

Keith Merrington

FYI: I'm not sure you caught it, but 'migi' means 'right (hand side)' in Japanese. (Kanji 右).

Daniel Griffiths

the random dubstep is crazy i love it lol

Oh Well

Haven't you seen the Chucky and friends dolls behind him? :D

Nero Integrate

His girl is asking if he's really him cause she feels something's off. That's why she switched hands too, probably. And at the end - they're trying to make baby parasytes, what's wrong or weird about it? :D

Hwiyeop Kim

The reason why he was surprised and fell when she said she doesn't like snake, is because the parasite thing that ate his right hand looked like a 'snake'

Frentzy

I know you already reacted to ep 3, but can't wait for you to see ep 8, things change from there, and that's when the anime started to be good for me.

CurseMark4Life

It seems like retro horror probably because the manga was serialized in the late 80s/early 90s

Macatony

Funny you mentioned that; originally, the manga for this anime was written in the 80s, and yes, it was categorized as sci-fi-horror.

Custodio

well, the other parasite already said why migi cannot relocate to a brain, and i think migi also said it in the very beginning. Migi "grew up" in a hand. Since he lacks any actual knowledge other than his instincts and matured in a hand, he never learned how to control a brain. It´s too complex to control a full body, if all you ever learned was controlling a hand. It´s like, going from basic addition and subtraction in math directly towards astrophysics. Though, i would assume (since migi seems to be massively intelligent, or at least he is a "knowledge-seeker") that the other parasite may be capable of controlling the body in a way that would allow migi to stay alive in a shared host, and migi is also probably totally capable of adapting. Maybe he would even be capable of learning how to control a human body, given enough time and shared knowledge from the other parasite; who knows. But as migi said: he cannot be sure that it is even possible, so both his survival-instinct and logical thinking tells him not to do it. Remember: migi only does 3 things: what is necessary for his survival, what from a raw logical standpoint makes sense to do, and and satisfying his "thirst for knowledge". From a logical standpoint, it makes no sense to take the risk of changing into a shared host, if the current host also gives him the ability to live. And as we´ve seen, he´s not only strong enough to fight for it, he understands that coexisting is a benefit for both, himself and his host.

ArtKi

A reaction to the 1950s "The Thing" would be AMAZING! I suggest recording your reaction and decide whether to edit and post it afterwards. It's not a long movie, not much time wasted if you don't think it's a good reaction. 9:51 Take a look at short (less than 45 seconds) trailer for Midori Days. You'll know why when you see it. Search for Midori Days Trailer on youtube and it'll pop up. -------- Ref the random nature of some scenes. Most of them pay off - sometimes WAY later in the anime. The most random scene you've seen so far, pays off. You probably won't even remember it when the payoff comes but me and everybody else will leave a comment saying "See SEE!" The other random scenes, like the parasyte "saving" the woman from the thugs, are just added so you see how the world is developing now that the parasytes are here

ArtKi

Seems like a lot of animes have BANGER episode 8s.

William Pina

I still don't remember the weird sound fx, maybe they get tone down later. Also, I don't think Izumi literally said "do you want me to eat you". It was more like that's the kind of look he gave to those kids.

Zero Shonen

If you pay close attention to some details, the personality of Izumi changes from the moment that Migi invades his body. At first, he was afraid of bugs, but now he doesn't care, he has a more fearless personality, and the "You want me to eat you?" phrase, is not only to scare them off but a real threat since those thoughts are actually on his mind at some degree. We will see things like this in further episodes, but you can now catch those details as we move on in chapters.

Thomas Juino

don't worry, the season is enough on itself to be a full story, ending included

Abe J

What the heck. I swear I don't remember those goofy background sound effects. Now I can't unhear them.

Julien Fabrice

And because of the changes and that his right hand touched her Breasts were the reasons, why she asked him if he is himself and switched from right to left hand.

Anacik Gabriel

Yeah they were there but you was like me, you just didnt think about them, you just started because luke pointed it out :D

Anonymous

"Everything behind me is horror related" and you glance over and see All Might.. yep completely frightening XD

Kot Bajun

Really cool for Luke to pick up on 80s horror troupes, etc. This anime is actually based on an original story way back from 1988. Anyhow, I remember Migi aka MC’s right hand featuring in a few doujinshi way back when, so when anime came out, I was familiar with Migi, without ever reading the original it’s based on. Just a bit of a history and far reaching popularity of the “character” way before any other mascots of that nature (aka Kyubey from Madoka Magica).

Guilherme Vergne

Got it, i should be like that guy. PS: The snake reference was for episode 1 when shinichi thought a snake entered his arm, he asked her about animals kind of thinking about migi and she said that she loves animals but dont snakes which he thought migi was at start.

Whata Save

'm pretty sure this isn't the original television version of the anime. I have no idea what they did with this possible blueray version, but it's making me really upset to react

Matthew Nichols

They literally are exactly the same, I still have the original run. You just didn't notice until it was pointed out to you here.

Deonta Kilpatrick

To be or Not to be that is the question

Arcade'owy Łowca

"Be like this guy"|me preparing to go full Alucard| "Don't be like this guy", oooh -.-

Mike Baker

The sound effects are only noticeable if you’ve had them pointed out to you, or if you watch it wearing headphones. With headphones they are impossible to ignore, unfortunately.

KaiChannel

It`s not random at all, just shows many events happening and things that will later connect

L.C.

He missed out on migi turning into a full on penis and he thinks the line about the main character eating the kids is just a funny random joke? You must have been off your game on this one buddy

Holy Shot

I think the whole series has an underlying purpose of being a commentary on meat consumption, but I may be wrong. The whole "You do it too, to other animals, so why treat us as horrific when we do it to you" narrative pushes me to believe so

Visoth

After thinking I recognized Murano's voice actor, I looked her up and was wrong. I thought she sounded like Sylphie from Mushoku Tensei. Instead, she voices Kanade Tachibana from Angel Beats, which I also recognize.

Dethrox

I like that idea very much.. of humans being the closest living beings to demons.. like.. only demons could trap a cat in the sand and throw rocks at it..... and you see this shit in most of the anime like.. humans are like.. 90% maybe even higher the evil one.. :D like what the heck...

Eshaan Ali

I grabbed a scythe after he said 'be like this guy'
