WHAT IS THIS ANIME??? IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!!

Here is the FULL and UNBLURRED reaction to CARDCAPTOR SAKURA Openings!

Enjoy!!

Kot Bajun

The series which defined “moe” forever.

Marcio Neves

Oooh! A CLASSIC. I love the Manga and the Anime. Very cute and lovely, although with some dark twists near the end. But nothing "modoka like" 😁 Too bad over here all we had were the first opening and endings, all the way until the last episode. All the musics are incredible, I used to listen to them and the rest of the OST in a nonstop loop, a few years ago. Nice choice 😊

Anonymous

Let’s watch “The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You” OP recording movie full ver. The cutest anime opening, and the hardest-playing song in this season.

Anonymous

After you are done with the madoka movie, will you check out the upcomming madoka movie 4 trailer?

Nobue Itou

Still recommending Pani Poni Dash and Ranma 1/2 openings and endings.

Stukedood

growing up in the UK you may have seen episodes of the old English dub on CiTV, it was just called Cardcaptors (had its own English opening too) that may be why the wands look familiar, Clear Card was a sequel series that came out 2017-18, one of my all time favourite anime,

Karina ~ Stirret

She is a magical girl and there is fighting. Old anime from 90s and clear card was a continuation from 2018 a think. Now you need to react to Tsubasa reservoir chronicles, it's a kinda parallel world but totally different. Its music is so good. You're gonna love it!❤️

seansky

Love this anime, I still watch at at least once every year or 2 haha. Not too big a fan of the Clear Card, dont think i finish watching that one.... Also Kero best side kick ever. I would like to recommend a react on My Happy Marriage songs to match the happy vibe. :) Or if you are after older anime vibe, Eureka 7 is LOADED with OP/ED and OSTs......

Anonymous

The English opening that was used for the western market has a completely different feel that might be worth a look at. It was just called Cardcaptors over here.

Marcio Neves

Also: beware the CLAMP RABIT HOLE. Once you get into it, there's no way out 😁 About the anime itself, I already described a little in one of those "best XXX openings" videos. But, again, it is about a girl, the lives her live with her father and brother (her mother passed away when she was very young). Until one day she find out some magical cards from an old wizard called CLOW at her attic, and acctidentaly let them all loose, except for one. And after that, the guardian of the cards, Kerberos, by sensing in her a great magic affinity, entrusts her with a magic key that can transform into a magical staff, with wich she can control the cards she left loose. So, her job is to collect them, because they can become dangerous if left alone in the wild, without control. It has two distinct ARCS within the story of the original series/manga. The Clear Card one is a new series, some two years after the original story, where all of her cards got "blank" and lost their power, and the story revolves around some prophecies she has and the discovery of what is going on. Along the way she also learns more about her late mother and her family inheritance. This arc is still being published and schedule to end very soon. The anime is not complete yeat due to that

FaerieRose

This is my go-to feel-good anime. It’s about a girl who accidentally sets a deck of magical cards free, and then has to recapture them. There are some magical battles using the cards’ powers, but no big evil. The series is relentlessly positive, and even the toughest obstacle can be conquered with Sakura’s invincible spell, “Everything will be alright!”

Kot Bajun

I like opening 3 out of these 4 as well. It’s iconic. There’s also a very beautiful theme song from Movie 1. I adore it to this day. Such a vibe, vocals, lyrics, melody! Anyhow, I’d say this show is one of the rare ones I’d safely let younger kids watch, dunno, ages 8-11. Although it does have more “grown up” themes here and there, but unless one looks for them, they won’t spot them. Very tame and wholesome otherwise. Also, yeah, it features quite an old school vibe of magic not present in most of the current media. I am pretty sure that on purpose or just to “fiddle with” whoever wrote this, done a bit of research on the topics of the occult. Back in the day, some of the show’s elements drawn some of that crowd. Think of glyphs/witchcraft/occult/runes/alchemy . Again, those in the known back in the day told me that although there’s structure to that part of the show, there’s no logic, but again, this “mess” is explained by one of the show’s male characters later in the show. So in a way, writers haven’t left that part unexplained or unclear in a way. Plus, it’s fiction, anyway ;) Or is it?!

Anonymous

Please react to all of the Yuru Camp openings and endings ^^

Robert F

Yay older anime OP reactions! Cardcaptor is pretty classic. It's very "monster of the week" so I'm not sure how it'd do as a reaction but still worth it. It'd be cool to see you check out the Inuyasha OPs for another classic!

IvanBV

cardcaptor is a classic among the classics, one of the main representatives of what a magical girl anime is and you can watch it safely with your family (and you can continue with tsubasa reservoir chronicles, from the same multiverse, not as family friendly :D ) IF you want weird openings non representatives of the anime itself y ou can check death parade op, amazing op, more amazing anime. PD: Don't skip the ED song of episode 15 of re:zero :)

Talias_Light

As my most belvoved Shojou-Anime was was exhilarated when Clea Card-hen dropped. It is such a beautiful anime. Watching reactions to it would be bliss.

Anonymous

This was my introduction to non-dubbed anime. I used to watch this after school back in 3rd grade

France Gamble

This makes me miss all the CLAMP now! I need to pull my old VHS out again!! Thank you for bringing me down the memory lane. I think they were the first manga I read, too. Easy to read Japanese manga. I suggest Fruits Basket, the 90s opening, and also the new ones. I don't think you will guess what that one is about. 😂

Phyllis

Cardcaptor Sakura is one of my favourite childhood anime. It first aired more than 20 years ago. It's a feel good, shoujo, romance, magical girl anime with a bit of action. (Shoujo anime/manga means the anime/manga target audience are girls and young adult women.) The opening songs are just beautiful and warm to listen to~

France Gamble

I second Ranma 1/2. My husband has the DVD specials now, and I introduced him to the live action last year.

William Armstrong

Cardcaptor Sakura is from the 90's. One of the original and best examples of magical girl anime, there are some fights, and mysteries but definitely a fun show that is meant to be uplifting not "dark or "edgy". Is it up your ally? I dunno its definitely intended for a younger audience but still great for everyone in an "anya" like way.

Tatersalad666

I would recommend Asobi Asobase for an op/ed that you will struggle to guess what the show is about. Its Death Parade level of misleading. Another one that is pretty misleading, though a bit less so is Girls Last tour, which I have been trying to get to win a twitch vote for awhile. Both shows have their op/ed sung by the VA's as well.

PSadlon

This is not exactly the first CLAMP series Luke has done openings for. He has done Code Geass. The next ones I suggest are Rayearth, xxxHolic, & Tsubasa Chronicles.

Some0neElse

BTW this anime shares a genre with Madoka Magica :D

Adam

for weirdest openings I'd have to go with Gakuen Alice and School Rumble

Flutter0Shy

Funny enough, it was aired decades ago, but just like Bleach, it got a continuation a couple of years ago

Adam

Also, if you want to check out an opening from another series made by the same people that made this you should check out Chobits

Krolliox

Well, since you're reacting to magical girls, it would be best to react to the magical boys, please react to Saint Seiya and Saint Seiya Omega opening.

Marcio Neves

To Consider Code Geass as CLAMP is quite cheating, because they did not created or wrote the story, they only did the character design for the anime, and the same design was later used for the manga adaptations 😁. It was the first time the CLAMP studio was hired to do designs for someone else's work And I vote down for those three and would include Chobits and X too (and if he do react to a lot of CLAMP stuff, he may start to notice the "reusing actors" feature from CLAMP 😁)

DefinitlyNotHana

And the OG classic OP/ED's, Pegasus Fantasy, Soldier Dream, Blue Forever Blue Dream etc

S0ulSp4de

Weird or unpredictable openings. Kinda hard, maybe: The Tatami Galaxy, Asobi Asobase, Charlotte, Binbougami ga, Elfen Lied, Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai, Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, Death Parade, Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou and Wonder Egg Priority to name a few, I guess.

Anonymous

you should totally watch Cardcaptor Sakura, it's super sweet and wholesome!

Charlotte

Yeah one of the weird anime opening but awesome is Wonder Egg Priority

Ryan H

I recommend the op/ed for Asobi Asobase

Ninni

I love the breadth of CLAMP, they can give us something as cute as Cardcaptor Sakura and something as dark as X.

Facio

Weird anime openings that immediately came to mind: All the Monogatari Series ones are trippy (there's like 10+ now). Pop Team Epic, 3 OPs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmrosfxGifQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d0n7mXPMG4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAbxKKGdWno Paranoia Agent, 1 OP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0F36lQRC3KU Tatami Galaxy, 1 OP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkH8ti1gakE Negima (it has the same base premise as Cardcaptor Sakura, just not as wholesome), 5ish OPs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4i4ua2-rxNM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n4EXqZCnL0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUqTwCJCAKI (this one has a bunch of variations so i chose one arbitrarily) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7sJHgyROrY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rhspZqpev4 (this one is for UQ Holder which you will see is still the same show)

Racc

there is a fifth opening of cardcaptor sakura. You could find it in youtube as "Card captor sakura: clear card-hen op 2".

patros36

once again, Recommending some doghua openings. Mainly: Da wang Rao ming (Spare me, great lord), Wu shan Wu xing (Fog hill of Five Elements) And also a korean one, OP for Lookism by Ateez

ninety90

Cardcaptor Sakura is a sincerely light-hearted magical girl show. Part of why Madoka Magica was so great is because everyone expected it to be another Cardcaptor Sakura or Sailor Moon, so its darker reveals were a serious shock.

Lizz

Cardcaptor Sakura is such a wonderful lighthearted anime. There are some more serious tones in the story and fighting but mostly just cute girl with cute outfits and a wholesome story

Animeguy1101

The Yugioh card you’re probably thinking of is the Dark Magician Girl which was created after the anime started airing I think. Also this anime is 25 years old as of April since it came out then in 1998. The Clear Card opening is from the sequel series that came out 5 years ago. And there is technically one more opening, an English dub opening that uses an original song that is very different but really catchy so maybe reaction to that one sometime would be nice I think. If you’re interested in more older anime I recommend Inuyasha openings and the original Digimon and Pokémon Japanese openings too.

Keith Merrington

Asobi Asobase: You'll never guess the contents from the Op and ED :- OP: https://youtu.be/xX6R_TTnPEA?si=2kodZPUnIuqtnULb ED: https://youtu.be/aQ88sSjAETU?si=449DWGmMr6_Agdzs Also Azumanga Daioh is pretty weird OP: https://youtu.be/bsGAsJBW6zM?si=jIPs3gzHIxj5-eI9 ED: https://youtu.be/NBzKXP9cnIQ?si=soUKJYHnwnWv215n

JOSHUA A STERRETT

Yeah, Cardcaptor is one of those OLD, classic anime which resonates with nostalgia in the hearts of all long-time otaku. It's a very traditional sort of Magical Girl amine (NOTHING AT ALL like Madoka Magica which deconstructs and subverts the genre), full of cuteness and lighthearted adventure, not to mention a bit of innocent childhood romance. It has adorable characters and a fun story, though it is a little more on the childish side. If you're looking for a cute cartoon without many darker undertones, Cardcaptor Sakura is an excellent pick.

John Shugars

Cardcaptor Sakura reactions coming soon maybe???? and you are correct I can't remember any time where I wasn't smiling

JOSHUA A STERRETT

A'ight, so you've watched Madoka Magica, the epitome of the Deconstructed Magical Girl sub-genre. You've now seen the OP's for Cardcaptor Sakura which epitomizes the Neo-Classical Magical Girl subgenre. I now want to suggest my personal favorite Magical Girl anime and the epitome of the third Magical Girl sub-genre, the Action-Hero Magical Girl sub-genre. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (aka, Magical Girl meats Gundam) contains all the cuteness and heartwarming coming-of-age stuff that you find in the Neo-Classical stuff and combines it with heart-pounding action scenes and fights between powerful magical warriors. Alex Henderson once said that "the Magical Girl is a special type of superhero, one that will take all things traditionally feminine and stab evil through the face with it," and no Magical Girl personifies that quote quite like Takamachi Nanoha. The franchise is split into several series across several mediums, but I find the best way to enjoy it to be the following: The Movie 1st (which covers the events of the first series), The Movie 2nd (which covers the sequel series), StrikerS (the third series).

Ohms

Cardcaptor Sakura was the second Magical Girl anime i've ever watched, after Sailor Moon, which was the first anime period I ever focused my attention on (I saw DBZ in passing, but never got into it). The Major Three classic magical girl anime I've watched have been those two and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (which I liked particularly because it has a surprisingly sophisticated magical system which they expanded upon each season), and they gave me the basis for my understanding and appreciation of the genre as not simply 'for girls'. Of the Three, Cardcaptor Sakura is the most lighthearted, as the entire series feels like an extensive coming-of-age story of her discovering and learning to harness her own powers as opposed to fighting against a particular big bad (though there are antagonists). This contrasts greatly with the other magical girls series I mentioned, where there is always a big bad, though in a few cases the major villains are representations of the metaphysical. So if you're going for a more 'balanced' (some dark elements) magical girl series, I would recommend the other two, (especially Nanoha if you want more action packed stuff), and if you want something extremely lighthearted, i'd 100% recommend Cardcaptor Sakura.

yorgash

CCS is among the most classical magical girl series. No twist, just pure magical girl. As for the craziest OP, you still have to react to Bakemonogatari's Kaerimichi (OP 2), because compared to that, Renai Circlation is sane. And as for a very great Magical Girl that's not dark like Madoka, but is for adults (seinen) but leavning a bit more on action, there's Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.

BlekDimon

I personally think that Cardcaptor Sakura is a good anime, altough I found it just boring... I watched 13 episodes and I just can't do it anymore, it's so uninteresting... But I still like it because of the great vibes and characters.

BlekDimon

As for other Magical Girls anime that is worth to mention, I think Princess Tutu is amazing, probably the second best anime like that (pg13) after Madoka. Also, it's much shorter compared to other anime in this genre, having only 26 episodes. You can also check out the opening for this, I think it's just very nice and calming.

Sean Mcguinness

I hope you start doing some of the english dub opening, this one has a fantastic one! So does: Pokémon Digimon YuGiOh Cardcaptors (This, in Dub) YuYu Hakusho Dragonball Z Medabots Shaman King These are usually shorter than the originals, but I seriously think you'll get a kick out of checking these English dub op's! In fact, a cool video idea is you comparing the Eng VS JP Opneings and seeing how they match up!

TSP

I'd say the "Big Three" mahou shoujo (magical girl) shows are: 1) Sailor Moon 2) Cardcaptor Sakura 3) Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha

Kot Bajun

StrikerS are by far my favorite. The “you’re a bad sniper” aka long range damage dealer which Nanoha tells one of the “students” is forever in my best scenes/quotes of the whole series. If one knows which scene I’m talking about, I’d say it’s as badass as Magical Girls get lol . The problem with the series is that it’s not licensed anywhere to watch online legally the last time I checked :[ The same problem another fantastic show shares fate with as “Nodame Cantabile”, “Planetes”, and probably a few others from the mid to late 2000s

Joshua Lopez

I love CLAMP series which had various anime adaptations. Their tone varies, but Cardcaptor Sakura is a nice mellow show with a pretty decent overall story. The fight scenes are actually pretty cool, great animation all around and more than just straightforward fights. The second movie is overall my favorite.

Kot Bajun

It’s definitely aimed for younger audience. Not sure if that explains the problem at hand fully, but yeah, for an older me I’d say it got a vibe to it and some nostalgic value. Also, hand drawn goodness. I probably wouldn’t handle binge watching it anymore. Like, I’m yet to finish Clear Card hen. I felt as if season 1 and movie 1 wrapped up the story nicely. I’d say movie 2 and the rest was response to fandom wanting more. Although I’m sure I’ll get a beating for trashing movie 2, again, I stand by the thought that it was unnecessary. Can’t say anything about Clear hen as I watched only 1st two episodes or so when it aired and stopped right away :[

Kot Bajun

I got to say that Paranoia Agent got the weirdest opening from out there and yeah, the song and the visuals are quite a trip lol. I love that song to this day, not that I cared about the series themselves but Paranoia Agent OP has to go into the museum or historical record of best openings of that era :D

Keith Merrington

How can you forget the 'Pretty Cure' franchise? There's only about 850 episodes :-) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pretty_Cure

Kot Bajun

Wasn’t there Tokyo Babylon as well? I had a glimpse at older OVA from 1990s long time ago and it looked nothing like up the usual cute CLAMP universe stuff. I remember they even announced a re-adaptation on the series back in 2021, it it felt through due to allegations against the production studio. Sad

Karen Porter

I know you've reacted to the openings for Katekyo Hitman Reborn. THANK YOU FOR THAT! I'd love to see you react to the endings as well at some point if possible. At least two (that I can remember off the top of my head) are sung by the character VAs which is always fun.

Ninni

The Tokyo Babylon manga is one of my favourites, and yes, the was an OVA back in the 90's. It unfortunately only covered two shorter stories though. I was so disappointed it fell through because it's such a good story.

BlekDimon

I don't think it's really an issue for it being aimed at younger audience. I'm watching right now Ojamajo Doremi which is also a Mahou Shoujo aimed at kids, and I sill have yet to be bored with this anime after 43 episodes, so yeah...

Adriana Flores

I personally think cardcaptor sakura is great the first time i saw it was on tv then i saw it 3 times on my own

Daniel Lubo

About the wierdest opening out there, Ping Pong Club should be at least in top 10 globally. What's so funny is that its still a great opening

BlekDimon

I knew Pretty Cure is huge but... 850 episodes? That's quite a lot xD As for TSP, it depends if you consider only Mahou Shoujo aimed at kids, or only those for older audience, or just both.

Kevin V

I have to also recommend the openings and endings of The Tatami Galaxy. One of my favorite shows ever. The Tatami Galaxy: OP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkH8ti1gakE ED: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IcFDwygw-o The Tatami Time Machine Blues: OP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbcqSJUz-VQ ED: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saZ6s2Gv9S8

Ale

First time I watched this I was 11 yo and I love it, a few years ago the story continued, still makes my heartbeat race, it's beautiful and I do think you would like it❤️ I reference to the weird opening, I always recommend Paranoia agent op, it's plenty weird and I don't think anyone can figure out what the anime is about just by seeing it

John Cabral

I really wanna see more of these 90s anime intro reactions! You should check out Magic Knight Rayearth next!

John Cabral

Though if you want "What is this anime about" openings, Excel Saga and Ranma 1/2 will challenge you

Sanguor

I haven't seen it yet, but it appears to be an incredibly impressive anime. I rarely see people discussing it, but when they do, they consistently praise its greatness.

Callista

I do heartily recommend Card Captor Sakura, it is a classic and beautiful work. It also continues on in a sense in two other series, xxxHolic and Tsubasa Chronicles that are related works that take place afterwards.

Dragon Of Chaos Gaming

I love Card Captors so much, so nostalgic. Love the japanese openings but the american/english opening I grew up with and wish it had been included in this, its very different to the rest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yB0fmTv9T0

Aiyuu

Really like your description of CCS like a sweet shop there. Yes this entire show is so very sweet and pure. It really shows the talent of the author in making even the weirdest, most unusual or even uncomfortable topics very innocent and sweet. I have to give props to the author for daring to explore some of the most taboo and controversial themes in a seemingly children show.

Andy Hinton

Fena pirate princess opening and ending pleaseeeeee

Oneven

A good recommendation for 'hard to tell what the anime is about' would absolutely be Paranoia Agent.

ArchangelEa

Card Captor Sakura is so sweet and adorable and you just have to like the charas there. And it is a finished project from clamp, what is a bonus in itself. Please also make a reaction to the openings of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, it is another (unfortantly unfinished) masterpiece from Clamp

Varnius

"Happy, cute, fun" - And then you get into Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and xxxHolic :)) Please review openings for these, too!

BlekDimon

^I don't praise it. I'm fan of psychological and philosophical anime, but Tatami Galaxy was just... It wasn't necessarily that bad, but it was just boring, uninteresting and that fast dialogue was pissing me off, making it a less enjoyable experience, wouldn't give it a higher score than 6/10.

Ninni

Yeees! Escaflowne! I love that series, and the OST is so good. (I also just need to hear the first few bars of the OP to start singing along.)

Ninni

Princess Tutu is really good, it's well thought out. as much as I enjoy Madoka, I would personally argue for Utena as my favourite of the genre, I enjoy the slowly revealed darkness, all the symbolism and the deconstruction of the fairytale aspects.

FinalMasterM

#2 of my favorite Magical Girl series. #1 being Magical Knight Rayearth and #3 being Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.

FinalMasterM

Or the openings to all CLAMP series, including X, Magical Knight Rayearth, Chobits, Angelic Layer...

BlekDimon

Well, Utena is not really a Mahou Shoujo anime, but I can see why people see it that way as it has a lot of similarities. From a similar anime, I like Revue Starlight a lot more.

Zolfried

this is aimed at a children demographic. i think the anime starts and they are like 10yo or something. so itstargetted to a similar age group audience. as its old, the episode formats are also more for TV vieweing.. where each episode is pretty much a contained solo story.. there is an overarching story going over the entire show, but this was something you could just as easily come home from school and watch an afternoon here and there. Very feel good, plenty of emotions too. i dont think youve ever watched anything like this, and i dont think it will ever get voted because the fans that love this is all from what i can tell an age group well above your average audience demographic.

Nate Ming

Definite all-timer right here, and absolutely worth a watch It does get dark at some points, but it never gets too far in that direction I agree that it likely won't get voted in, but it's worth it

Anonymous

One of my childhood anime. It reminds me of the happy days being a kid watching it every day after school.

Kevin V

Like BlekDimon is saying, if you have a short attention span, it may be not your cup of tea. The dialogue happens very quick, but the content is profound and touching. It's a seinen with adult characters in a university setting, so it's targeted to people going through higher studies. Very far from a typical anime shonen, that's why I like it.

Anna Stachia

Oh man, I definitely recommend Cardcaptor Sakura. I do think you'd like it a lot. Especially with your reaction to the openings. It's very much intended for a younger audience, but that doesn't stop it from being a really good, fun anime with poignant emotional beats. The creators, CLAMP are a very versatile group. (Going from a fun kids anime like CCS to a dark series like X/1999, to a slice of life pervy series like Chobits, to a fun supernatural mystery series like XxxHolic) and I would suggest pretty much anything by them. (I'm a real big fan of X/1999 it's delicious.) CLAMP has one failing that seems to crop up in a lot of their work, but I wont' spoil it, and its never ruined any of their series for me. Just a notable thing they do a lot. Anyhow please watch Cardcaptor Sakura. Also! the dub was one of the early anime dubs that gave dubs a bad name cause it's extremely edited, they changed all the characters names (except sakura) to english sounding ones, and really tried to americanize it. But I also suggest listening to the English opening, because I for one find it to be a good time, in all of its cringeworthyness. Also other opening to react to I would put forth the Slayers openings. Older 90's anime, but one of my favorites.

BlekDimon

Well, I do have to agree that it's unque in a lot of ways, unfortunetly it's just a big hit or miss, for me it was a miss, it was more boring than most of slice of life anime I watched. And obviously it's very far from a typical shounen, like, it's a psychological series xD idk why you even mentioned it since this genre is very rare in Shounen anime, it's most of the time Seinens.

BlekDimon

^Obviously since he reacts to anime like that mostly and sometimes Seinens, but it's still suprising how much of Luke audience are also shoujo or mahou shoujo fans.

James H. Hobbs

If you're wanting some kind of crazy opening to react to, then the Dokuro-chan openings are definitely something special.

Ninni

X/1999 (I agree that it's delicious) and xxxHolic are probably my favourite CLAMP anime adaptations, but I agree that most of their things are good and worth a watch.

Nepherenia

There's a million other replies here, so I'll keep it short: The vibe of Cardcaptor Sakura matches the opening. It's 60% slice of life, 40% magical fun. It's exceptionally cute, and is THE definitive Magical Girl anime, along with Sailor Moon. You can also see how Madoka Magica used Cardcaptor Sakura as a template, but then inverted it to turn the genre on its head. Madoka would not exist without Sakura.

Vex Valor

If you want to watch a more traditional magical girl anime to understand how Madoka Magica turned the concept on its head, Cardcaptor Sakura is a good choice. As for a weird opening. I suggest Honey and Clover. You will never guess what that anime is about. XD

David M

Weirdest Opening that isn't complete nonsense belongs to "Humanity Has Declined", but it doesn't become weird until about 40% through the anime when you discover it's a post-apocalypse setting and all the episodes have been in reverse order.

Chavakun

Try the opening to excel saga and see if you can figure that one out I dare you Luke lol

ミッシェル

There definitely is fighting! Jeje
