An interesting thing about Excalibur's scabbard having the healing properties is that while it does just sound like typical anime power stuff, that's actually part of the King Arthur mythos itself. I always think it's interesting and a little bit funny how when you break down stories like King Arthur, Beowulf, the Volsungasaga, the Epic of Gilgamesh - these legendary stories were all basically just ancient people anime with the same tropes we do today.

Caster's laboratory is actually much worse than it looks. Caster uses magic to keep the kids alive even as they're totally deformed and torture beyond recognition. They turn a few into living furniture and stuff, very disturbing stuff that is only described in the original light novel.

The thing about the scabbard was foreshadowed in the first episode, It's not plot armor. And it makes sense to give it to Irisviel since she's the one open to danger pretending to be the master while Kiritsugu is in the shadows. But i agree with you about that scene where she just stands up, that's 100% anime lmao

I really want to see you checking out the EDs. Not the Full Versions necessarily, but especially the first one has really cool Visuals that showcase some of the Servant's Pasts. Got me good emotionally the more of the Series I saw.

One of the reasons why Saber doesn't 'look so strong' is because she was matched against Diarmuid. He has a passive charm ability that always affect female opponents, even if Saber can resist most of it, and he's a lancer. Lancers are the second strongest class when comes to direct combat, so they're a good match against Sabers in general. Also, Saber isn't using her whole power, or her noble phantasm.

100% this! There's a reason why the premise of Fate works so well as an anime, because SO MUCH of these ancient myths are just so perfectly anime already, that they barely need to change anything anyway haha xD
