I don't think so. Akane ga Kill is the anime that creates a captivating story just to end up in one huge disappointment. In this aspect it is similar to Soul Eater. You enjoy the journey along the way, and then you see the last episodes and regret that you even started watching it.

@Majoz - Did you just complain about something being dragged out while also recommending One Piece? Lol, my guy... I haven't seen a whole lot of One Piece and don't have anything against it. But they need to wrap that story up. It's twice as long as Naruto and Shippuden combined even IF you include all the filler. I will agree that the filler is pretty bad in Naruto though. Definitely skip all that if he ever gets to the series.

Personally I really liked the anime but at the same time, I think it's the only one of the dark trio where the manga is better than the anime so I can understand the dissapointment people had.

I dont think Luke has watched enough shows where Japanese culture is central to the plot enough to familiarize himself with a lot of the terms. I'm running a number of shows through my mind and the terms Shinobi, Ronin, Shogun, etc havent come up as much in those anime as I recall. Could be wrong though.

Normadus, Ghost Tendency, you are confusing the terms "long" and "dragged out". You can do a standard 12-episode anime that would feel like it could have and should have wrapped up in four. Or you can do a huge adventure in a massive world that would be enjoyed even by people born long after the story has begun. This is exactly what is great about One Piece.

@Majoz You know you can skip filler right? And you say the war in Naruto is dragged out but than say to watch One Piece when the Wano arc took 4 YEARS to complete. One Piece fans are so delusional

At least the manga is completed for this anime so there is no waiting for more source material (like in case of made in abyss). Technically you could just read the manga if you are impatient, it might still take a while to get season 2. But you have plenty of other animes to watch while you wait for more episodes, a lot of awesome anime shows.

Luke, I really think you'd enjoy Tokyo Ghoul. A lot of people hate on it because the manga is better than the anime but Hells Paradise has gotten a lot of similar hate. The show and story are great, it's very dark, and the music is amazing. Definitely hoping that you'll watch it soon! Love the videos, keep it up!

4:46 "Do you want to die, too?" I didn't get the meaning of this before this viewing! 7:18 "Why didn't it work on the other girl?" I think because she's not using Tao as well as the others. She wasn't depleting her Tao resources. Instead, she's out of mucus-poison vials. 22:19 "Gabimaru's wife.... Does she actually exist?" And the show hits Next Level!

Yeah Soul Eater anime had so much potential, it is one of those that left the best parts off from anime (for example Magi is another). Manga is really awesome... it is such a shame :/ If Soul Eater fans haven't read the manga, I highly recommend it.

Luke, it's fun to watch your reactions but I wince every time you use the word shogun! Ima leave a little cheat sheet below so you can get everything straight: Shogun: The military general of Japan, appointed by the Emperor. Basically, the dude in charge. Samurai: Japanese version of a knight. They swear loyalty to the shogun. Ronin: A Samurai without a lord for some reason. They’re criminals and outcasts with prior military training. Shinobi: A spy or special forces. Like the CIA or MI6 agents. Sometimes they engage in assassination as well. Kunoichi: A female shinobi. Ninjustu: Literally “ninja techniques.” Supernatural techniques taught to ninja.

Them damaging the enemy with tao preventing the immortal's regeneration is a negative interaction between tao implying there are different types of tao, some of which negatively interact with each other. That likely means their are types that positively react with each other. Everyone seems to have some type of supernatural ability that seems to be a variation of tao. I propose that the girls ability to restore stamina is a tao ability and the reason it didn't work on the ninja woman is to do with tao affinity. Thank you for listening to my TEDTalk.

EDIT: I just saw you posted the opening reaction before. Luke you should react to the Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) opening and ending (the first season just started). It's already a masterpiece (I've only watch episode 1 and it was such an amazing first episode.) The opening is by YOASOBI.

Honestly, Hell's Paradise does have a lot of love, if you look on Crunchyroll it has a 4.9/5 with 94% 5 star reviews out of 93,509 ratings. The people saying its bad are a vocal minority honestly. That and there are SO many good animes to come out this year that it got overshadowed a lot. And not everyone has gotten around to see it yet. Really glad you liked it thought!

There's some history/kanji involved, but you're correct. Ninja is actually a shortened version of Shinobi (in kanji). They DO mean the same thing.

You have to take into account that views are also important. You can't say that, "oh wow, look at ALL THOSE positive reviews, the haters are a small group". It's not about white and black. It's about shades of gray. The show no one hates it. Lots of people like it. But they don't like it enough to give it a rewatch. I think this is the difference between a "GOOD" show and a 'good' show. The views. IF the views are high it means it's loved, if the views are low it just means people liked it, but didn't loved it. You love to redo same action over an over as long it offer you joy. THat's you you love [insert random action]. Things you like, you do them rarely, otherwise you might start to unlike them.I shifted the hate mentality to what the actual reality we live in. The show is 'best meh' compared to mostly what he reacted so far. Beside hellsing ultimate which I did not like the dub choice. If I had to rank, i'd rank this show 2nd to last from all he watched so far (Including twitch animes). And I think I am not wrong saying that cuz numbers don't lie. It's an 8/10 show that's all there it is. The others were just 9/10. Doesn't mean it's bad, it just mean on it's own it's a good Tv show, but compared to others it's meh. So call me a hater if you want, I side with the truth(Decent show, nothing spectacular,argue with the views, not with me)

I totally agree with you on the fact that its a "good" show but people don't like it enough to want to watch it a 2nd time, especially since it just came out. People also don't want to watch a show again that they just saw. Especially since Hell's Paradise doesn't have a lot of big reaction moments like "oh, I can't wait for him to see ___ happen". So I agree on thoes points. I could have expanded on my point better because what I was referring to is that Luke has brought up on several videos that he was told it wasn't good. He even referenced a couple big reactors who didn't like the show at all. That coupled with the low view numbers gives the impression that "wow, a lot of people don't like this show". He's said a lot "this show needs more love". However, the reality is a lot of people DID like the show but, like you said, they didn't "love it" enough to watch it again. So its giving him a false impression on how the majority of the anime community sees the show. So that's why I was commenting about the vocal minority of people who told Luke the show was bad. A ton of people DO like the show and it is getting plenty of "love" but its just not the best anime out there and, for all the reasons we both pointed out, it's not the best reaction anime either. That's what I was trying to say.
