Great episode. Rikarisu is such a cool looking city. Things do get dark in this episode but it’s just another example of how Rudeus has to confront the brutality of this new world where the morals of earth hold little weight

I am At 10:20, and to answer your question, it's the first time I think you were wrong about a char but it's not your fault. The reason he said he is a superd and dead end is so he desensitise people to the term. The man-god told him to help ruijerd, which means. His mission as long as he will be with him is make a name for their party and make sure people are less afraid. EDIT: finished ep, so the episode itself said pretty much what I said 🫡

The reason Eris was standoffish with the Tokurabu Toughs was that they were speaking in Demon-God and Eris doesn't speak that - so she just did her haughty 'above it all' pose. Then, when her button popped off she, of course, went into full on Eris mode.

Rudy tells people that Ruijerd is Dead End because he knows they won't believe him, and that way, they won't freak out because of the red gem on Ruijerd's forehead. If he tried to be sneaky and hide it, people would get suspicious. Kind of a hiding in plain sight sort of thing. He wants people to lower their guard around them because otherwise it would be impossible to stay in the city.

On the contrary, thanks to Rudeus' plan, they are free to roam and act freely without attracting fear or exclusion, and at the same time improve the image of the words "Dead End" and "Superd" in the minds of the population. Keep in mind episode 24 is an ova that takes place during episode 16. I’d suggest watching it after 17, since 16 and 17 are heavily tied together story wise.

It goes in more depth in the manga/light novel - but it's to try to get people to connect 'Dead-End'/'Superd' to 'Good People'. So, it's not that Rudy was being cocky, he just has his own plan most of the time. (whether they are good or bad is up for debate, but he always has a reason behind his actions) Also - I don't remember if it was touched on in the anime much, but Eris always wanted to be an adventure. She's a wild child who was stuck in a Noble Family that she didn't truly want to be apart of at all. Very similar to Paul in a lot of aspects.

It's rather hypocritical of Rujerd to have the attitude he does. His people literally murdered so much they wrote horror stories about them. You'd think he'd understand the concept of redemption or just have more value for life itself. Perhaps Rujerd is actually a sociopath with an children obsession. At 2:30, you're right about the animation style. It seems like the anime has a gritty or almost grainy texture with harsher lines. Personally I like it. Makes the style more distinct and separate itself from the newer stuff.

Luke; Rudeus is being dumb (paraphrased) Bro, Rudeus is being the smartest person in the episode! He's acting like they're a group of nobodies pretending to be Dead End and being so loud and over the top about it that nobody would ever believe them, even if the truth does get out. Meanwhile, he's finding them work and spreading even more propaganda in Dead Ends name in order to build up a positive rep and quash any previous rumors regarding Dead End. And then he goes and comes up with a plan to cash in on someone elses higher ranked job to speedrun out of their financial issues. Eris attacked them because 3 unknown demons speaking a language she doesn't know walked up and grabbed her out of nowhere. Of course she chose violence. Also, reminder, there is an episode 17.5 this season, but you should watch it after season 1. It's basically an ova that got released between seasons, it's just chronologically between 17 and 18. There is also an episode 0 to watch before you start season 2. Yes, we do episode 0's here too.

If you remember in the episode he touched a blue dye like material before and said "I have an Idea". His idea was to act and behave like newbie adventurers, and dye Ruijerd's hair, announcing he's a superd was to basically test out if the dye is helping Ruijerd hide in plain sight, that's why he gave a thumbs up after that. You can rewatch that scene lol, the boob lady distracted you XD. Now, whether or not that is idiotic is up for debate as it was still a bit of a gamble.

I think not only is the idea of "killing" or "being around death" probably more common for this world, in Eris' case she's probably seen executions or such, but also the fact that she's never experienced a death to someone close to her. I feel like she doesn't fear it because it's just an adventurous thing, or a thing for other people. But for Rudy - Rudy has died before. He knows exactly what it's like to die.

Hiding things in plain shight is better than trying to be secretive. If they are being secretive, people would start to get suspicious, but if they are announcing it like that, then nobody would expect him to be the real thing. Also, Eris is definitely an awesome character. She is the one who grew the most. At first she was really annoying, now she is growing to be the best girl for Rudy.

This ep is actually a "16.5" ;). Chronologically, it takes place at the very same time as ep 16. I do recommend watching this ova between the 2 seasons as well (or just after ep 17). Eps 16 and 17 are a narrative diptych. Luke can't miss ep 0 of season 2, as it's an integral part of season 2, but it's worth pointing out this particularity.

I 100% agree with the take to not ignore the sus moments but to accept them. I would say to take it 1 step further and try to understand them, understand why the author would put them in the show in the first place. I'm not saying you need to be happy with the sus moments as I don't believe they exist to make the viewer happy but instead to question and understand how a person could end up this way and to watch the path he takes to improve/redeem himself. In a lot of shows these types of moments are just fan service without much thought but in Moshuko Tensei there is deeper meaning to all of it. This showed is filled with allegory and we have only scratched the surface of it.

i think him announcing dead end is to help the disguise, if he walked in with a superd with hair dye everyone would question the gem and be super suspicious of them. but by drawing attention to it everyone thinks they are just trying to intimidate him so they reason the opposite way and think the gem is the fake part. it also helps that his hair is blue and he gave him the pendant of the blue haired demon clan.

I know its cause he's watching like 6 different shows at once, but Eris was very obviously excited about adventuring during her study sessions. Like it is literally the only thing besides swordsmanship that gets her excited.

Watch Faraway Paladin. One season out and one approaching rapidly towards a release. Or Overlord which has 4 seasons and a movie in the pipes. Overlord isn't a character's name it is the species for the main character they are the pinnacle of undead species their know more than 700 spells. Most have a spell knowledge cap that's low but not him because of a skill. I have spoiled nothing from the events of the Anime.

I think announcing him was meant to both test the disguise as well as create cover. If the disguise was good enough the announcement isn't believed then the image that they're just a group pretending to be badass and actually isn't a threat gets solidified.

That way you don't have A rank hunters hogging any easier C rank jobs that less powerful hunters need to make a living.
