Esia Lee

Voice actor for Yuzuriha (purple hair ninja girl) is the same as Ai from oshi no ko

Lijnaito2021 !

One reason it never got the attention that deserved. It got overshadowed by everybody creaming their pants for oshi no ko

About the pacing, it's probably because of all the backstories for the characters. I love this show but I can kinda get where they are comming from. Hopefully we won't have to wait for too long for season 2.

TheBigOhm

I think people might have had too high expectations. It's doesnt have super complex, huge, season-spanning plot threads, but it's just fun to watch. Fr fr this anime was kinda slept on.

Shiwa chan

The pace does slow down later on . I was watching it parallel with Heavenly Delusion . And there happened more in one episode than this show .

Seith

It also doesn't help that people compare it with JJK and Chainsaw Man, and talk about some sort of trio, when Hell's Paradise has almost nothing in common with these two.

Matthew Valentine

Woah fuchi does have Yelena vibes from Aot haha

Puraido Eustass

Aaah, he's here. Chobe! I love him. He's the best. Hehe. I cannot wait for season 2 to see more of him and Toma.

Reennji

I think Hell's Paradise isn't very popular on your channel since its airing was recent.

Luca Bellan

Finally Yuzuriha has joined the gang!!! Man, I waited until now to say anything about her 'cause it would be spoiler since in the last episode she seemingly died, but now I can finally introduce the best girl! 🤣 who is also voiced by the best girl irl Rie Takahashi (voice of Ai from Oshi no Ko, Megumin and lots of other characters you'll eventually come across)

Rob

I mean, there were a lot of bangers that aired at the same time. Hell's paradise was great, but not on top of the list among Spring 2023 animes for me

BtdoesGaming

I'd be interested in seeing you react to 1 ep in the dub because the dub cast for this show is surprisingly good and I think the dub VA for Hollow is better than sub.

you should edit out the intro for youtube but every few episodes leave it in for patreon :)

2023-08-26 04:26:42 TL;dr this show is pretty much a battle royale type of show, these shows naturally have low views cuz people don't get invested in shows that kill half cast in first 3ps, then slowly kill more chars down the road. Message Long version: Right from episode 4, the power scaling in this anime raises eyebrows. It initially sets up an Attack on Titan vibe, but then characters effortlessly dispatch enemies left and right. The reason for the low viewership is crystal clear: - No spoilers, but episode 3 reveals the main character's seemingly infinite health. He's always at 100%, even when hurt – vulnerability is practically nonexistent(this happen through out the whole show) . - Secondary characters? Overpowered. In episode 4, horror fizzles as 170cm humans take down 2m-5m giants. How did they get caught if they can defeat giants?(blonde guy holding 100 kg steel weapon in 1 hand yet he got caught by puny shogunate people) - The tension of 'something at stake' is short-lived. Introducing butterflies as instant death is forgotten almost immediately (they never use the butterflies ever again in the show). - Expect upcoming episodes to feature more conversations and flashbacks, attempting to revive the horror vibe, only to abandon it again. Here's the takeaway: This anime falls in the battle royale genre like Drifters. These shows often struggle to gain viewers – 'Zodiac War' and 'Darwin's Game' are proof. It's hard to form emotional attachments when everyone meets their end in these shows. By the way, Fate series (and probably Btooom!) are good battle royale animes. Fate series - all op chars are champions they are described as OP from the start, you expect them to be op Btooom - all characters are not OP and are humans, no char is OP and you can expect fairness and no absurd fights. Hell's paradise, darwin's game, zodiac war, drifters -> They never explain why the characters are Levy from attack on titan on steroids, you just accept they are OP as hell and close your logic and accept these show exists just for action and the story is just a bait to lure you in to see gore and fighting.

In comparison CSM and JJK had weak MC become strong MC, here we have most OP character in the universe as the MC + the only char development you get is the MC girl and MC boy and it's emotional growth 100% and that emotional growth, make their skill grow. That's all the growth you get in this show max. Here's the takeaway: This anime falls in the battle royale genre like Drifters. Conclusion? to avoid this next time, make a youtube poll instead of reading minority voices. It's clearly you read comments (I don't expect you to read all this spam), and I know you hate polls cuz that create tension "why didn't you pick 'My anime', that anime should've been part of the poll as well". But that tension will make sure what you pick is guarantee to get larger amount of views. I personally enjoy the pick cuz I like action(i'm in the minority with loud voice when come's to hell's paradise), so my comment is objective AF (cuz I criticise the anime on why it's low views). PS: the only reason the show is popular is: MAPPA + good animation + good hook first 2 eps + banger op/ed. But these alone do not make a good watch along necessarily

It sounds like you haven’t watched these shows your bringing up and a lot of what you said simply isn’t true.

Yeah but even if the dub is good or even better you’ll always have an army of anti dub keyboard warriors.

I'm gonna be honest, hells paradise definitely isn't hyped because of mappa. HP was hyped as a manga way before it was known there would be an adaption. It initially got attention because the author used to be an assistent for fujimoto and the readers quickly realized that the manga is a lot of fun which led for it to be listed besides JJK and CSM. Completely without Mappa being involved in any of those series at the time. Imo the mappa name only hurt the hype because it was a relatively "lazy" adaption and people went in expecting to receive like a JJK treatment or something, which they obviously didn't receive. Not that I'm expecting anyone to read this.
