Maurizion

Nooo, my guy just put the third anime on English 🤣

Nate

So Dragon Ball Goku is a kid and it tells his story up until a teen, Dragon Ball Z tells the story of Goku as an adult and he has a family “the kid that you saw that looks like Goku” that’s his son and it also follows the other group that Goku made throughout the story. Dragon Ball GT is not really Cannon it was when the manga Dragon Ball Z ended and idk who gave it the “ok” but it was supposed to be the continuation and ending of Dragon Ball franchise also Goku is a grandpa I don’t think the mangaka really sanctioned it. Dragon Ball Kai is just a remake of DBZ but with better animation. Dragon Ball super is the actual continuation of Dragon Ball Z that the mangaka gave the “okay” to do but it’s under a different mangaka now since the original is retired I think.

Nate

This is just simple terms without giving away any spoilers

Yami Youssouf

luke all im gonna say is goku has a kid, not straight away but yh

Juho Kaartoaho

Dragonball = Season 1 Dragonball Z = Season 2 Dragonball Super = Season 3 Dragonball GT = Hallucination/Nightmare I would consider it over after Super.

Jacob

almost all dragon ball opening keep the same opening for like 100+ episodes so they keep the antagonists to little flashes or hints that they change sagas change

die kokosnuss

if you want answers. react to it.

Dj

Ngl this is the first time i heard of it, its not so bad

Bernie Burton

The story actually takes place over like 40 something years, so all the characters who were kids at the beginning of the story, like Goku, grow up and get married and have kids. Goku has two sons. And Goku's oldest son gets married and has a daughter. So the story just keeps going over generations.

Juho Kaartoaho

I think that for Dragonball you should really do reaction for the dub openings since there are some real gems in those. Best video I could find quick on youtube is called "Dragon Ball - All Funimation Intros - 1995-2017" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dRbM_T6aCE )

Animeguy1101

Since you used to watch digimon growing up… Here’s a playlist for all the Digimon Japanese openings for the all the main anime seasons, I really recommend you try them to see the difference between the English version you might remember and what the original versions are like. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlHvRFmrcTI9o6BQf_aR9gDRrlUiKZX6P

Suhiro-senpai

There is an official English version of We Gotta Power by Hironobu Kageyama!!? Why have I never heard of this!!??

Eliana

Luke seeing Vegetto and saying "every character is a Goku variation" made laugh so much

Spikà

It is called growing up and having kids. 😉

Eliana

Also not really a spoiler: if you get all 7 Dragonballs you can get a wish granted. That's why everyone wants them

Victoria Pritchard

I the first opening is child Goku, second opening is adult Goku with his first son Gohan, third opening is adult Gohan with younger brother Goten who looks exactly like Goku, forth opening isn't canon anymore but features adult Goku transforming into a child form, no need for further explanations I think.

Will FMA brotherhood EP 30 be on patreon?

Frentzy

So this is just "speculation". But I think next 7-14 days will be probably rough @_@. Because of his chaotic IRL schedule (we don't know when it started exactly), we can expect missing videos in this period, or, same version as of youtube will show up on patreon, For example this video has the 'blurred nsfw' as the youtube version (there is another 1-2 videos on patreon recently that also had that as well), does it kill the experience? nope. But just shows that at the time when he made all these videos, he made them in a bulk and edited in a bulk, so errors were made, so my expectations is pretty much mistakes in the next max 2 weeks. If he gets bigger +1 mil subs maybe he gets an editor and that'll fix all the issues. You can remind him on today's livestream to post FMA brotherhood,

Ardane

"BLUE GOKU"! I AM SO TRIGGERED!! XD

Ardane

If you ever do watch Dragon Ball, make sure to watch the Kai versions of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Graphics are better, animations are cleaner and they skip, as far as I know, all filler episodes.

Kwil

I know you once asked what THE anime is, and I'd have to say, this is it. Nearly all modern shounen has taken some inspiration from it. That's not to say it has the best writing in the world, the best fight choreography, or anything like that. But there is no more influential anime out there.

Jacob

if you want a small taste of dragon ball the Movies for the original series are basically 100 min advertisements and intended for people who have never seen the anime, but sadly Goku is a country boy and they almost all start with a scene of him fishing nude so they cant be recommended for twitch.

So to give some context on the dragonball series. Dragonball: This is the OG series where Goku is a kid. Mostly adventuring and martial arts Dragonball Z: When Goku is grown up. This is the series most people know. Dragonball GT: A series set after the end of Z. Attempt to get back to some of the roots of OG dragonball while keeping some of the fighting style of Z. Considered a "non-canon" series. Dragonball Z Kai: This is the series you said looked more modern. Kai is essentially a remaster of Z with some stuff condensed a bit more and some filler removed. Dragonball Super: Technical "canon" continuation of Z. This series is the most recent and sticks to the template of Z in it's story/fights.

Anonymous

Thanks for the info my friend. sadly I usually don't have time to watch he's streams because the time differences

Shiwa chan

I think the easiest to get into of the big shows is Bleach . It got like 300+ episodes . You can skip like 100 episodes of fillers. Then you just have to work down 200+ episodes overtime. Then you're prepared to enjoy the Thousand Year Blood War. I binged it in like two weeks up to the next-to-last Arc of the old show .

Little goku is Gohan, Goku's son

So the original series of Dragonball was Goku as a kid. It was an adventure style series with some fights but was more focused on the adventuring. A lot of it was more focused on them going around to collect the dragonballs because doing so will allow them to summon the dragon to make a wish. Dragonball Z is just the continuation of the story after Goku grows up and it starts getting into the straight up fighting. While Dragonball and Dragonball Z are separated as anime series, they were the same manga series just by the name Dragonball. Though I know that sometimes, especially on the English speaking side the manga is now split to match the anime. Dragonball Z Kai is just Dragonball Z redone to be more concise and updates. The story doesn't actually differ. Dragonball GT was the original continuation of Dragonball Z. It was approved by the mangaka, but wasn't a manga continuation. With the introduction of Super, it's no longer really considered canon, much like most of the Dragonball Z movies. Dragonball Super is now the canon continuation of Dragonball Z. It also has a manga continuation by the same name of Dragonball Super. While I don't think it's been confirmed, another season of Dragonball Super is expected as there has an additional storyline in the manga.

Edu S.

dragon ball and naruto are really damn strong here in brazil

Byron Miralda

I’m just going to say it, I love the Dragon Ball Franchise but if we’re being honest it is mid.

Zafree

DragonBall - Season 1 DragonBalll Z (kai) - Season 2 (kai at the time was a modern remake of Z) Dragon Ball Super - season 3 Dragon ball GT - this doesn't exist ignore it Season null 0 nothing not canon anime orignal garbage

Nate Ming

Somebody needs to draw Luke with one of his kids looking exactly like him, beard and all, like Goku and Goten

Patrick Jacobsen

the mini versions of Goku you keep seeing are his sons, except from the first one of course, that's Goku himself as a kid.

Giant enemy Crab

Toriyama did give the ok for gt but he wasnt involved. Super is based on general plot points toriyama gives for the direction of the story, thats why the manga and anime for super are different as they each follow the same plot points just go about it differently.

Pfefferminza

If you should consider to watch it, you should be aware that the complete series has about 600 episodes

ZabluLobsta

Can You try the baki openings? O think You gonna like them

Daithirian

Woof, a lot to unpack here. DragonBall - Goku as a boy growing up, meeting his friends for the first time, and usually between adventures collecting the seven Dragon Balls to summon the wish granting Dragon, or fighting in a martial arts tournament that ends up having a big bad to defeat. Dragon Ball Z (Kai)- Goku is grown up and started a family. The small looking Goku is his son Gohan in the first few seasons, he later has another son that pretty much is his carbon copy Goten. Here we learn Goku himself has alien origins as his older brother comes to earth wanting to know why he hasn’t obliterated the human race yet. It begins the widening of the setting to space and the afterlife and runs about 4 major storylines. Kai was the modern revisioning of Z in HD. DragonBall GT- the original anime sequel series to Z. An old enemy accidentally wishes Goku to be a kid again on a different set of DragonBalls that scatter into space after a wish is made. Mostly considered non canon these days as the original author had little to do with it. Dragon Ball Super- technically a mid quel. The series is set after the last major arc of Z but before the last few epilogue episodes. But it got jumpstarted after the author saw how bad the live action movie came out and made two new original animated movies originally with the DBZ title. The movies then got extended into the first two arcs of Super, which had the introduction of Beerus, and the return of Frieza from the second arc of DBZ, and then they kept going for a few more seasons introducing the Dragon Ball Multiverse… technically the anime is ended for now, but the manga has kept going, which is currently adapting the last anime movie they did last year. The Timeline pretty much spans close to 30 years between the start of the original to the end of Super with Goku having a granddaughter by the middle of Super.

Daithirian

I mean the DBZA opening is just a shortened Cha La Head Cha La from the first Z OP. If anything he needs to see the “Rock the Dragon” DBZ dub op, or the “Step into the Grand Tour” GT dub opening yet. Or the dub actors doing the “Dragon Soul” Kai intro.

ZckFox

Dragon Ball is old-school battle shonen so you frequently have arcs where characters start off as enemies but become friends later. Yamcha, Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, Android 18, Majin Buu, sort of Kid Buu, and Beerus all started off as antagonists to Goku but later becomes his friend or ally. You ought to also check out some of the Dragon Ball endings, especially for Dragon Ball GT. Instead of having an artist create OP/EDs for the show, GT just straight up used pop songs from famous artists from the era for their OP/EDs so they are actually quite good. The English Dub versions for a lot of the Dragon Ball songs are also good.

SpongeBob DeezHands

I'm sure plenty of people are gonna give you a rundown on what Dragon Ball is so rather than that I'll give you a fun little piece of trivia: Dragon Ball was originally made as a manga (Japanese comic book) by acclimated mangaka (manga artist) Akira Toriyama and was heavily inspired by the Chinese epic Journey to the West with many characters, locations and themes present from it with the most prominent of nods being the main character Son Goku being heavily modeled after Sun Wukong the Monkey King! If you know anything about the Monkey King or Journey to the West, just watching the original series and finding the references will be a trip and a half!

Anonymous

Hmm, it's complicated. In DB, the storyline is nice, but from DBZ onwards, it's mostly used to justify endless battles, even if you have cool sub-stories on the side. I think the big strength of the series is its lore, which is very rich and original. I think it's a good series, but some recent anime that are considered superficial or under-exploited would make DBZ pale in terms of storyline and effective development.

Alexandre Le Lay

I wish you could react to the endings aswell, they're so good

Milk

If you're interested in watching the series, I highly recommend this order: Dragon Ball -> Dragon Ball Z Kai -> Dragon Ball Super Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remake of the original Dragon Ball Z anime. It's far more accurate to the manga but it also removes a lot of fan-favorite "filler" episodes, so that is a bit of a downside in some cases. Kai has much better voice acting and I personally recommend it over the original series. Dragon Ball GT is weird. It wasn't created by the original author and has a very mixed reception. It was meant to be the series that came after Dragon Ball Z, but when the creator came back years later to make Dragon Ball Super, it was deemed non-canon as it conflicts far too much with Super's story. If you're interested, I'd personally recommend watching it after you watch Super. The series is still ongoing in the manga, but the anime is on a bit of a hiatus for now. We're unsure of when it will continue. Also, I personally recommend the English Dub if you plan on watching the entire franchise, but it's not necessary; I just personally think it's the better of the two.

BlackCat97

Please react to the openings and endings from March Comes Like a Lion

Godzy Lasserre

Man you killed me with all the alternative Goku 😂!! The one in the first OP is Goku, then he grew up and is the adult in all the other OP except in DB GT where he get shrink down due to an accident. Then you have « blue Goku » who is in fact Vegeta, and the « smalls Gokus » are Goku’s sons Gohan and Goten (the youngest which looks a lot like his father). The shaved Goku’s named is Krilin, Goku’s first and best friend. And yes they do remodeled the Earth once or twice. Basically, villains that survived their arc tend to become allies in this show. I’m sure someone will explain in which order you need to watch these.

Thine Tiny Equine

I'd react to actual Dragonball. You can start with OG or Z and things like Kai are nice to catch up quick. Old Dragonball Z was long, fillery, and a literal 5 minute fight once took about 9 episodes to reach the conclusion. As in the fight is stated to last five minutes, but is about 4 1/2 hours of watchtime. DBZ KAI was made to cut that all down to a manageable run of the same original Z without the filler and with fixed stuff. GT is filler content. Super picks up around the end of Z. A good watch order is the OG Dragonball (no letters after), the Z KAI show, and Super. There's a few times where characters can duplicate, but most of the time hairstyles tell you that the characters are family, or related somehow, even distantly.

Please do black clover endings songs

Dragon Ball (Z specifically) is one of those series that I wish I could rec to everyone, because its special to me. But also, it's nearly 300 episodes and a massive undertaking. (Which is also how I feel every time I try to start watching Super. ) The openings, especially early on, don't do the amount of fighting in the show justice. I feel like older anime openings (90's older) were a lot more abstract, than what we get today. If I can make a recommendation on openings to watch. The Slayers openings. Slayers is hands down my favorite anime and has some really fun openings. (though they can be hard to find on youtube)

Lexi Browning

2024 will be the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball. This is the manga/anime that is the godfather of pretty much all anime today. It set the trajectory of the medium

John Rea

I love that he doesn't understand the concept of children lol

Morgan Hellström

Dragon ball GT we all disowned. Even the creator. Dragon ball Kai is just a remake of Dragon ball Z without fillers. Wouldnt call it a good anime. Its mostly people living on nostagia. Its a good start for first anime and its kidsfriendly. Super i never got into cause its just a moneygrab after way too many years of an end.

EGGY MCNUGGETS

My personal take on dragonball is that its more of a goof anime, not to be taken seriously, and i mean that in the way of the plot kinda does what it wants, the characters are there to be cool for maybe about an arc before they become moral support, and its not something very groundbreaking. But it can very enjoyable and entertaining. OG dragonball has alot of really nice world building and keeps characters feeling engaged, z starts to get more daring and challenges how far they can push the rather chaotic plot and I haven't started super but you really dont need to see much to know that it exists to basically make goku seem ridiculously strong. So while it has its downsides its still fun and very lighthearted, i could watch dragonball with the family its that chill, its really just about fighting at the end of the day.

FaerieRose

It’s a shame you used that video. The original Dragonball, DBZ, and DBGT OP are zoomed way in to fit the widescreen aspect ratio, so you’re missing large portions of the picture.

dragean greyfield

The gokuception is understandable. All the goku look-alikes use similar facial structures but with different hair.

dragean greyfield

Yes, all the shows are connected except DB: GT which is non-cannon. Also dragon ball Z kai is a reboot of regular dragon ball Z.

Eva

Hahaha me too Vegeta would be pissed. I kept laughing out loud. Blue Goku

Eva

Hahaha I freakin laughed out loud!!! Vegeta woud be pissed!!

Eva

This reaction made me laugh out loud the entire time. “Blue Goku” is Vegeta! Also all the adaptations of Goku is so spot on but are his relatives. I read the comments and everyone pretty much explained it. I watched this whole series when it started airing in the US in the 90’s. I love it so much but compared to the story writing now, I wouldn’t say it’s the best story line. It is a lot of Galaxy fighting for the dragon balls and gets repetitive. It does hold the nostalgia for me and I watch dbz every few years. I would say if you want to explore, watch DBZ Kai. Lol Blue Goku.

Spat1000

The English dubbed openings are quite good aswell. Same music just an English vocal

Fidel

The little goku it's his son. see the resemblance? and yes some villians later help goku, This sho isn

Kelo

The very first opening you watched "Dragon ball" is Goku's adventures as a child, then the next one is Goku all grown up and the kid Goku you kept seeing with him is actually his son. Later in the show he has a second son while the first one grows up so that's why you've seen so many different Goku's Loved the reaction though!

Andy Hinton

Could you watch all of world trigger openings and the endings for season 2 and 3 ? Please. Season 1 doesn't have a ending.

William Pina

It's a shounen anime. None of them are good. But whichever one you watch first or whichever MC you relate more, is going to be the best one in your opinion. But they're all the same. Not bad, not good, just a pile of tired cliches and mediocrity.

BRUNO Marques

Dragon ball GT is a different continuity to Super. GT was not created by Toriyama, the creator, but still exists within the Dragon ball multiverse. Kai is a remaster of the original DB Z. The little Goku in GT is a 50 year old Goku that's been de aged, all the other Goku looking characters are his sons.

Mr. Dog

Also you can skip Dragon Ball GT as it was erased by the author writing Super. So GT is considered to be in a different time line now.

Anonymous

Yes I actually prefer the English dubbed versions for Dragon ball Z kai over all the other Dragon ball openings including the Japanese versions, maybe due to nostalgia, but i seem to recall there being a different English singer for each season and all of them were awesome. Something about the voice inflection of the English singers makes me prefer the way they sing which is unusual since i usually prefer eng sub for everything anime except a few exceptions like DBZ kai.
