Jason

Goatjo truly is the honoured one, insanely busted

SkyMina

Gojo the goat

Moba Test

Megumi means Blessing. So when he is talking about being blessed and such, it triggered his memory that he named his son, Megumi. Edit: I am manga reader and I know what's gonna happen... but maaaaaan. People celebrating and clapping their hands for Riko's death is effed up. I can't wait to see your reaction to EP 5.

haru

Megumi is also the japaense word for "blessing" so when he mentioned blessings he remembered his son's name. That's why he brought it up.

Frentzy

megumi - blessing, hope this answer ur question of why he remembered his son's name after the fight. Names have meanings, so you could say someone name as you normally speak

Alma

Megumi means blessing. He told Geto he had "the blessing of parentage" and that's what sparked his memory

TSunsett

The relationship between Gojo and Geto is very strong, Gojo is extremely care-free while Geto is more strict. Gojo could've just killed everyone in that room but it was very important that he gets Geto's answer first, Geto basically holds Gojo in line so he doesn't go out of control and Gojo relies heavily on Geto. This is basically the opposite of what we see in the movie, Geto is the care-free one while Gojo becomes more strict. The roles reversed and you'll see that in episode 5.

Mike

29:00 Otherway around i think . Red is positive / reverse curse. Blue is cursed (where all the people are clapping Rikos death). And Gojo walked from blue into red, as well as learning cursed technique reversal in the same ep. Geto walked into the blue.

brotato 96

He does not like flashbacks and when characters are erased from existance. Hehe Good luck.

Austin Sorenson

So in the JJK fanbook, its said that Gojo would use Geto as his Moral compass basically, so Geto's eyes wavering during the after credit scene shows he was thinking about killing them. and if Geto had done that, or if Gojo wasnt there, i wonder what would've happened\

Suraj ayinde

The only reason Toji was an absence father was because he couldn't give his son a good life, he was a part of the Zenin clan but was rejected as he had no cursed energy, he sold Megumi to that clan to give him a better upbringing as Megumi was born with cursed energy, that's why he named his son Megumi which means blessing.

Matthew Valentine

These episodes are so good and its just the smaller backstory arc! The real heat from this season will be with yuji and the gang in shibuya im so hyped

Suraj ayinde

Suguru Geto is his name, Satoru is Gojo's first name or Japanese last name, Gojo is his family/clans name.

You say that the build up and the fights in Jujitsu Kaisen are awesome. I definitely do agree but just wait till you start watching Demon Slayer!

Puraido Eustass

Oh man, I hate what happened to my boys. They are just kids. The episodes were so good. I loved them, but I also hated them.

виина

10:20 he was talking about blessing, and megumi means blessing in japanese

Viredae

Unfortunately, as people said in the previous episode, EP 6 and 7 will be recap episodes, so it's probably fine to skip them, I'd recommend watching them independently if you want. Biut for this episode, he didn't wake up the demon as much as he woke up the Buddha, this scene at 19:00 is basically Son Wukong meeting (and getting whooped by) Buddha, since the Toji referred to himself as a monkey, and Gojo's line is one attributed to Buddha.

Polotoph

The next episode explain everything so well in a short time, also is so painful the way everything happened

NicksKicks

Yay! You remembered Maki! I knew you’d grow to like Toji, he’s just a great character and I’m so happy you understood his final moments.

Dethrox

omg.. i cant wait for next friday episode.. its going to be SO GOOD :D i mean.. not better than this episode but still :o

Dethrox

i heard they dont count to season episodes so we should still get.. i dunno 19? more episodes after those recaps ?? or i got that wrong ? :D

General Milgoul

toji was speaking about blessings and the name megumi means blessing thats why he remembered it. and maki does have cursed energy but just the same amount as an ordinary human and she can´t control it

Suichoku

Fate/Zero might have better fights, since how fucking awesome the effects are and the characters fighting. But yeh JJK is top tier one too. Fate being better comes down to preferences.

In Japanese, Megumi is a feminine name that means Blessing, which is the significance of that moment. that's why he said "Speaking of blessings, I just remembered I named him Megumi." Which is a call back to when the guy asked him how Megumi was doing

yuzu hibiki

Basically everything that happen this season is reason why season 1 happened. Megumi stands for Blessing in Japanese, He told Geto to thanks his parents for the blessing, which is why he remembered his son name. In a sense, Geto was Gojo's moral compass whereas Geto fell to Gojo's dark thoughts in JJK0.

Viredae

I'm honestly not sure, since seasons can range from 19 to 26 depending on the show, what I can say is that the next arc will probably take up the majority of it.

Rob

I hope he will still watch those recap episodes on his own, so that he comes back with a clear and refreshed memory for the new episodes, since our boy tends to forget things quite quickly haha

Suichoku

Episodes 1 & 2 were kinda meh, 3 was kinda good, 4 was really good and 5th is awesome. That is my opinion about part 1. People have been saying that part 2 will be ever better.

Lex

A flashback is a filler? nah thats a L take without a doubt, almost every anime have flashbacks cuz you don't need to tell the whole story of a character while the show just started and spoil everything, a character without backstory will never be complete.

Reennji

If you want to watch an anime with fight scenes that will give you goosebumps, I recommend watching Boku no Hero Academia.

виина

next episode will happen after 1 year from this ep (1-4 is 2006 and ep 5 is 2007) 10.8. and 17.8. will be recap about movie and season 1. 24.8. nothing 31.8. next arc (this all from official JJK twitter account)

Crome18

fights in JJK are great but to be honest I like fights in My Hero Academia and Demon Slayer more

Karen Porter

If you listened to his words, the japanese words, he kept saying "megumi" and it was being translated as "blessing". That's what that was I think. "Ah I named him that (Blessing)"

bano

Toji "abandoned" his son Megumi (which means blessing) because he couldn't give him a good life, as he had no cursed energy within the Zenin clan which made it hard for them, so he sold him to the clan since he had powerful cursed energy so he could live a better life, and the way Toji's life spiralled down with him gambling and all made him forget his son to forget the pain. You see at the end Toji's curse that was wrapped around him went to Geto, you could kinda say Toji gave Geto a curse and gave Gojo a blessing (Megumi)

Captain Warcrime

Toji only realized he was a shitty person when he was dying. Most people will die without even bothering to admit they were at fault or even think they ever did anything wrong; and those people are the scummiest of lowlifes.

Orion

I just started reading the Manga and there's 233 chapters so far (with a new one almost every week) and this current hidden inventory/premature death arc that's happening in the anime is chapters 65-78. They haven't done the story from the movie in where I'm at so far though so basically the first season and these 5 episodes from season 2 are only covering 78 chapters out of 233 so there's still a LOT left to happen!

inno#2732

Megumi - Blessing He was talking about blessings, therefore he got reminded of his son.

nicolassngf

The movie adapt a volume called Jujutsu Kaisen 0, it's like an special volume and it's cannon ofc

Green Bitch

That's literally the worst one out of the big shounens when it comes to fights

Fidel

he realized it but never admitted it, didn't even had any last meaningful words he held his pride till the very end

Captain Warcrime

He admitted it to himself. I meant some people are so disillusioned that admitting even to themselves never even crosses their minds.

Yula

Maki and Toji is from the same clan. Maki is basically the same as Toji

josh

Its kind of funny. Geto inherited Toji's curse- his cursed spirit- and Gojo inherited Toji's blessing- Megumi. Also Gojo flat out quoting the Buda as a fancy way of saying just how above his opponent he is, was chefs kiss.

Thomas Juino

Toji remembered his son’s name because he said « blessing » in his sentence and Megumi means blessing in Japanese

Serralinda

"Megumi" means "blessing" (and it's typically a girl's name), so when he was talking about Geto having a blessing it reminded him finally that he has a son with that name.

FullHeart

Gojo definitely cared on some level about Riko. When he said he didnt care about her in that moment, he meant specifically in THAT MOMENT, because with the adrenaline in his system and his new abilities unlocked he could see everything, and you can imagine that if you could see as much as he could see even a thing like Riko would feel so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. But when the fight was over Riko was a girl that he'd bonded with and he'd failed her even though he said he was the strongest. It was the right thing for him to do to go get the body back.

Jason Frasier

Maki (The Cursed Tool user you're thinking of) has a Heavenly Pact that she can't use Cursed Energy. She still has cursed energy. Every normal human does. Toji ( or DaddyGuro as even the Mangaka refers to him) is literally a completely unique case.

Harley Burnie

26:00 No, Toji lost because his pride, something that he thought he gave up, made him want to take down the best of the best, instead of running and living. The thoughts of his sin were a whole different thing. While he was dying, the only thing he could possibly give a damn about was, well dying, and his boy, whom he almost sorta cared about, thus the info for Satoru. Toji wasn't angry or whatever. Confident and...wrong, totally.

Nate Ming

Like don't get me wrong, I love talking during fights (especially explanations of techniques, etc) but usually you're too busy fighting to talk, and JJK gets that so well

EGGY MCNUGGETS

Nah you're just hating like most people do, mha has a stupid fanbase but the serious fights in the anime are some of the best in anime especially the movies.

Tales Rands

I think NOW would have been the best time to watch the movie, after we've seen Geto's origin, but it wouldn't have worked with the way the story was divided in seasons.

Anonymous

Megumi means "blessing". When Suguru Geto isn't killed by Toji, he speaks how lucky or blessed he is. And that word, Megumi/blessing, reminds him that he named his son exactly that. Hope that helps. I would've posted on your YT channel but for some reason I don't see this episode uploaded there.

Vinegar

The manga is still going on, but I would estimate 3-4 seasons total, maybe a movie for the finale

Toasted Toad

Bull****. What a boy needs is his father’s presence and his father’s love, not a load of excuses. Toji ran away because he didn’t want responsibilities and wanted to gamble and drink his life away.

Toasted Toad

You kept drawing parallels between Toji and Yuji, but the correct comparison is Toji and Maki. Both from the Zenin clan, both with heavenly pacts giving them great strength (attack and defence - their bodies can also withstand damage). Both no cursed energy (well, Toji has absolute zero, Maki has nearly none), both rejected by the clan for their lack of cursed energy. They’re blood relatives (although the relationship might not be close).

Suraj ayinde

Yeah whatever keeps you up at night buddy, looks like you must have daddy issues yourself lol.
