very good anime, lived it, so different and fun (less fun some time but... well... still very good ;) )

Kekkai Sensen is amazing. I love this anime. If you react to it though, please do it in Japanese. Japanese Voice Actors are just so good at delivering those raw emotions, which I often find lacking in English dubs.

Another anime based in new york is banana fish but its story is pretty dark

So cool thing about Kekkai Sensen is that it's ending 1 was so popular that people took to editing the ending to use characters for completely other anime and make a version for other anime. There quite a few out there.

Jacob

i haven't seen the anime but the first ED is still my favorite anime ED song

Thomas Juino

BTW you've seen Kekkai Sensen in the openings and the ending, but it was written in japanese XD so... i don't think that helped you

Chase Gardner

I hadn't seen this anime in years I enjoyed this anime

Big T

One of my fav animes, and I actually prefer the dub of this one.

There's two amazing anime I love one's called the God of highschool and the others called tower of god. You should listen to God of highschools opening it's my favourite out of the two, one's set in Korea and both are adapted from Korean webtoons/manwha. Both have really interesting plots, they only have one season each but, I'm pretty sure they'll be more seasons relatively soon.

kekkai sensen is an action anime, but I would recommend this anime because of the vibe; the beautiful animation, pacing, character and music(each episode has their own ost) gives the best vibe, don’t know about the english dub, but the german and Japanese are good, because of the typ of the anime, i would always recommend the dub of your native language, if the dub is good.

Solar

this is a great show, the basic premise of the plot is a portal to another dimension opens up in new York, and it's about a crime fighting organization that helps keep the balance in the city.

You should check out karakuri Circus

BattleCanyon

Awesome reaction as ever! I would recommend Eureka 7 openings and endings since they are made by Studio Bones. The anime they make like Full Metal Alchemists, Wolf's Rain, and Noragami contains phenomenal music. Also, Eureka 7 reaaaallly hits differently.

sandxr

you should check out Heavenly Delusion opening. The anime is currently airing and I like it a lot

So glad you checked this out. The music and setting are really well done in kekkai sensen(the Japanese title). Another show you should check out is Claymore which is dark fantasy. The opening and ending are a little short at around 1 minute each, so if you do check it out you might want to do either the full version of the opening, or do one of the OST's as well. Claymore heavily inspired Attack on Titan and in turn was inspired by Berserk. It has one of the strongest OST's of any show I have heard. I recommend Ginme no Majo, kind of the main theme song, and Youma no Okite, which really exemplifies the vibe of the show perfectly.

was there a kaguya sama livestream last sunday?

One of my favorite shows, definitely think it's worth a watch. It's totally it's own vibe. Kekkai Sensen is the Japanese title, but Blood Blockade Battlefront is the English name for it.

Aiko

Yes!! It's a great anime with a great soundtrack! The characters and the setting changing all the time (from daily hijinks) are what make this series special. In my opinion, the original JPN works best and even though they speak Japanese, it's the most accurate in script and portrays thw characters personalities really well, hilarious scenes as well. It's a really unique anime that's not too old but definitely finished and a wild ride. I do think you'd like it, it's kinda reminiscent of Jujutsu Kaisen too.

Flippnote

You should check out the Land of the Lustrous OP and ED

John Stevenson

if your interested in anime based in new york, then check out BANANA FISH! (strange name for a show yes I know) but it makes sense if you end up watching it or atleast checking out the OPs & EDs

@11:30 — Re: It not referring to itself as "Kekkai Sensen", that's because that's just the romanization of the Japanese words, which *are* shown, even if you didn't recognize it as such. A good number of anime titles are a mix of Japanese kanji and English words. In this case, Kekkai Sensen is shown as the kanji: 血界戦線, where that's pronounced "kekkai sensen", but translates to Blood Blockade Battlefront in English. Both forms are shown, because there's strong value in providing an English title to most shows, which may get exported overseas.

I didn’t care much for this anime. Pretty sure I stopped watching it after a few episodes, but man oh man. That 1st opening, “Hello World” is such a banger. I love this band quite a bit. I think also because they performed some of the songs in one of my favourite shows, “3-gatsu no lion” aka “March comes in like a lion” I recommend checking all openings and endings to that one on day. The show is quite good as well.

When talking about anime which take place in USA, like in ~1930s or so, check out “Chrono Crusade”. It’s an older anime classic of sorts. Anime came out in 2002-2003. It certainly has an unforgettable ending. Either way, if anything, Opening/Endings are good. They sound crisp even today.

Rugo

you should defintely check out the ost to this anime, i think youd love it

Rugo

also my most excited part for you to react to this was the ending, this show has probably my favorite anime ending of all time

you should check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKiVXun55Do

The reason you feel a familiarity with Noragami aside from the character designs, it's because they're both made by the same studio, BONES. which also made fullmetal alchemist brotherhood that you're watching now. Definitely go with Japanese dub for this because the cast list in this is just fucking bonkers, all A-listers and veterans it's a surprise they still have budget for the freakin awesome animations this show has. It's one of those over the top shows and the voice actors really did a crazy good job acting out the super hype scenes.

Some0neElse

Maybe you can check out Suzume no Tojimari from the movie Suzume

CurseMark4Life

Highly recommend you check out the Bananafish openings and endings. I guarantee that you will love each song as far as your music tastes go. Also a solid short 24 episode series (based in new york) following mafia, gangs, human trafficking, and other fucked up nasty underworld shit.

Ale

I really enjoy this anime first season (haven't seen the second one), I'm pretty sure you would like it. Another anime that it's set in New York would be Banana Fish, absolutely amazing story that you would like too, should check the openings and endings so you can get an idea.

SilverDragon

Definitely recommend watching season 2. Personally, I think it's even better than season 1

Mihaly Szamak

If You like Bump of Chicken then check out the 3-gatsu no Lion (March Comes In Like a Lion). All the OP/EDs are great.

Silvered Fox

Also going to rec Baccano. If you like Bump of Chicken and can find the op of Tales of the abyss I'd say you might enjoy checking that out. Baccano has a phenomenal dub - it's also very very short.

Yeah! kekkai sensen's literal translation is blood-blockade- battlefront. Ketsu is blood, kai is edge/barrier, sensen is frontline (Sen and sen have the same sound, but in Kanji are two different words, sen for front and sen for line). Ketsu and kai get combined (because some words just do that in japanese lol) and becomes kekkai. So blood blockade battlefront is a pretty accurate translation. It's called that because theres vampires and a few characters have blood powers, I think. It's probably because it just sounds cool
