Leader is a Moon Whistle which is between Blue and Black and it's basically given to teacher figures.

Leader was a MOON whistle (the purple ones). Which as far as I understand is the same rank as a blue whistle but do a different job. Moon whistles seem to train red whistles; while blue whistles actually explore the abyss itself.

Who knows when the next season is gonna come out, But I'd say season 2 doesn't end on some huge cliffhanger and leaves at a pretty satisfying place to wait.

While yes you could have watched this on twitch, i am extremely glad you didnt. Having chat would distract you a bit and make it less immersive, and theres a high chance of people spoiling the show. I think this is also much better spread out over a longer time to give you more time to grow attached to the characters and speculate what might come next, youll also want time to process what you just watched after some episodes lol But yeah patreon or youtube were 100% better than twitch for this show seriously

Man, the writing in this ep is so good, there's so many things Ozen does that seem weird or mean but as you learn more and then rewatch all make absolute sense haha re youtube or twitch: the internet has this overly dramatic narrative around how 'bad' things are in the show, when really its not that bad, its just emotionally shocking sometimes. You have some drama queen mods lol. Next time make them show you a screenshot of what they think is the worst thing and decide for yourself! I suggested that on twitch but alas comments get drowned out. MiA is torturous to watch like this lol def a binge show.

The anime studio has announced that they will make season 3, as it is still ongoing yes, but the manga does not have enough chapters yet for a season 3 the author replied to the season 3 announcement saying he needs to pick up the pace making chapters lol seems that theyre just commited to making season 3, but will be waiting until theres enough manga content to do so, however long that takes

Please dont release the movie reaction in 2 parts, i think that would be a bit unnecesary, the movie is such an experience, you need to see it all at once, and watching the reaction all at once would be much more enjoyable You could do a reaction video to the opening and ending songs of season 1 on the friday and then watch the movie on the saturday? that would be amazing (theres also a second version of the ending song sung by a character not introduced yet, thats a great listen too)

Season 2 doesn't end the story. Made in Abyss manga is still on going...slowly. 1 volume a year. Season 1 (2017), "Dawn of the Deep Soul" (2019) and season 2 (2022) adapt 10 volumes of the manga, on 11. Kinema Circus has already confirmed a sequel in animation (we don't know if it's a season or a movie, or else), but we will have to be patient. In my opinion, at least 2 or 3 years. By then, you'll understand why some people told you that Made in Abyss on youtube and twitch can be complicated (although there are many reactions to the series on these platforms). I don't know how you manage to wait a week. The first time I couldn't help but "bingewatch" the whole series (3ep a day). edit: Oh and the father is Lyza's husband, a black wistle named Torka who died during the expedition to get the Unheard Bell (Jiruo told the story at ep 2 or 3).

I just had a thought while watching Evangelion yesterday. I think it would be an excellent contendor for the Patreon Anime slot because there is so much to break down and experience. The whole series is 24 episodes + a movie, and then 4 reboot movies that folow different plot points. There is nudity and such so it cant be on Twitch. Just a recomendation for you to experience this epic classic. Also Fate Stay/Night is a good option also because of the copyright issues with its movies. There is no nudity in that one tho, so its also fine for Youtube

just some info you won't get from the anime here. riko's dad is named Torka. He's dead. he died in a skirmish with foreign cave raiders before riko was born. The story is not wrapped up upon the end of season 2. it's basically at the end of the first arc in the post 5th level stuff. there's like maybe a half-seasons worth of more stuff in the manga and a 3rd season is already announced though no time-table is set because Tsukushi-sensei (the author) is notorious about having no set schedule for chapter releases.

I don't know what will happen next in this anime, but I'm glad it didn't get to twitch. On twitch, you need to take anime that you don't have to watch carefully, some mid comedies, romcoms, anime with a rating of 7/10 or less. And definitely not anime like 86.

It has, but the manga is barely past where Season 2 ended. It was more of a "we're committing to doing this once the manga is far enough along" kinda thing. Unless they plan to do filler somehow, and this series doesn't really lend itself well to filler.

Unfortunately, at the end of season 2, not even the manga’s been updated. There is no ending, and apparently there was a very long break in between the Dawn of the Deep Soul movie and season 2 even for anime standards. Season 2 having come out last summer, it might take another 3-4 years for the next movie/season. Also, just so you’re fully aware, you can’t skip Dawn of the Deep Soul without missing a huge, massive part, and the best part of the story.

Absolutely, this would have been terrible on Twitch. I feel bad enough about seeing him go through Steins;gate that way, with no time to let episode sit and to ponder the story. I think twitch is probably better reserved for more comedy shows like Konosuba, Kaguya, etc. Definitely not slow burn mysteries like this.

There are 2 and half years between Dawn of the Deep Soul and season 2. This is quite normal (especially with the pandemic). The problem for the sequel is that the anime is almost up to date with the manga, which is released slowly. So, Kinema Circus has to wait for enough manga material.

As others have already said, please don't skip the recaps, they often offer additional details and insights into the world and characters. And besides, they're really short anyways.

I have to say, I'm glad you didn't do this on Twitch. For one, I think binging the show is not the best. You need time to mull over things. Also the chat would be distracting and there would be a good chance of spoils. As for Marluk, he doesn't have to live in the Abyss, but since he's sensitive to sunlight, it just makes things simpler by staying down there most of the time. The whistle color denotes how skilled the person is at cave raiding and enduring the Curse of the Abyss. Humans can go down to level 5 and still return to the surface. Now you are probably not going to answer this, but... Season 1 is 13 episodes, which means the last ep will land on a Friday. So that Saturday will be skipped or will there be something else on that day before you do the movie on the next Friday/Saturday?

Leader told Riko what happened to her dad back when he revealed the circumstances around her birth. Her dad was a black whistle, and died along with the rest of Lyza and Ozen's group when foreign cave raiders attacked them. There is a ton to keep track of in this anime, and it's really hard to remember everything your first time watching. A decent number of questions you've had in your reactions have already been answered in previous episodes, but the main story itself is puzzling enough, so its easy to forget small details or things that don't seem important at the time. Another reactor I've watched took quick notes during and after the episodes so that they could review things before watching the next one. I think you'll still enjoy the show immensely the way you're watching it now, but taking a bit of time to refresh your memory can clear up unnecessary confusion and allow you to focus more on the show and the questions that haven't been answered.

The first two Made in Abyss movies are just Season 1 in movie form I believe. Also Season 2 just came out and the story is not finished. Season 2 came out 4 or 5 years after Season 1. Being superhuman makes you a white whistle. Not how deep you go. You have to be as powerful as Ozen. You become superhuman with artifacts found in the Abyss. That is a slightly incomplete explanation of white whistles but spoilers.

That's 50/50. I said in the chat to save it for patreon, as I'm enjoying it like this far more than on Twitch. I'd have liked Steins Gate to have been youtube/patreon too, but at least he enjoyed most of it :) The entire first season per Twitch TOS, is completely safe, doesn't even flick a switch, the movie however can break a couple TOS, inferred nipple, and "child endangerment" potentially. Season 2 doesn't have much TOS to my memory. Still as said before despite being 99% twitch safe, I'm glad it's being done like this. :)

Your comment about the seafloor and a possible cave opening to it is kinda interesting, The abyss goes down a really long way but so can some deep sea trenches. The average depth of the ocean is 3000 meters with the deepest known trench being 10000 meters. From the map shown of the abyss layer 7 is 20000 meters down, so its unlikely that a cave opening exists that far down to the ocean. Best case for that situation would be on layer 3 and 4 because they start at 2600 meters and ends with 12000 meters. There are a lot of caves and water sources on those layers so its possible that one could exist but I'd say its unlikely.

There lot of animes, who are perfectly fine to watch on stream (which was already done) and show much more in detail as Made in abyss. With the current releases part 1 and part 2 of the movie would be on Saturday and Friday of the next week, splitting 13 would make them both Friday-Saturday but there's still no reason for it other than "get fucked lol". On youtube you'd do it because of engagement and analytics and well as things like copyright, all things that don't matter here. I don't enjoy watching reactions when they're livestreamed since it takes away the person's attention from the subject matter, and I also can't focus on the show, the reactor, and then also be distracted by whatever people are ALSO saying in the chat. It would have been a huge bummer for my favorite anime to have been on twitch because of that. But I'm sure there are some scenes in the future that you might think that it was borderline not okay for twitch. We'll see. I'm just grateful your mods convinced you to keep it on patreon.

White Whistles don't become white whistles by doing a "Last Dive" into the 6th layer, the last dive and becoming a white whistle are two different events. Once you go beneath the 5th layer into the 6th, ascent becomes impossible to survive normally. Thus is is a "Last Dive", and when a White Whistle does it, they hold a funeral festival for them like they did for Lyza. You can still send information up though, like letters on balloons, assuming they survive the ascent to a place where another raider finds them.

Comedy bringing a good mood is always nice together as a comunity, and hyping with the chat would just elevate the experience with hype shows. Idk man, that Ozen fellow seems pretty suspicious, keeping her cards close to her chest. I think she is lying to Riko and is also testing her, trying to persuade her to go back to the surface. This is the base camp where most people turn around and are able to. After this, the next safe stop is the city of people who can never return to the surface because they went too deep. This is all info they mentioned already. I think there is a pretty big chance her mother is living there if she is still alive. If I put myself in Ozen's shoes, I brought this kid out of the abyss many years ago to live a normal life and then this kid comes back down here??? This mothafu- Also we did see some child nudity if that counts....flat as a cutting board.

It's not safe, but maybe you can compile what is safe into a Youtube playlist with a disclaimer at the start explaining why it's all uploaded in one go. And with a little editing for the unsafe episodes, this can mostly be on YouTube. I have seen some react to it on YT with lots of filters to avoid copyright, and it was okay since you couldn't really tell what was going on unless you had watched the show beforehand.

The joys of exploration is to discover and learn. If I just wanted the facts, then I would just read the books and the theories from others, and remember it like its for a test. He did ask though, but many things gives more satisfaction when discovered. One of my greatest frustrations with react channels is when they constantly pause, often right before getting the answers they look for, just to be engaging with the viewer, and thus ripping themselves out of the experience to be a content creator. There is a balance, and half of my enjoyment as a viewer comes from seeing his experience and wonder. He will loose many first reveals and "aha" moments just because he is a creator engaging with his viewers. Just how it is. If he misunderstand things explained in the past or manga, then it is good to correct him so he can get the right understanding of the world he is diving into.

I will say, as a sub watcher, Made in Abyss has a fantastic dub. Ask the characters are perfectly picked and do such a fanatic job, I would gladly watch this anime dubbed

To kinda answer some stuff about white whistles without spoilers, a thing has to happen in order to become a white whistle, otherwise black is the highest whistle rank (bell, red, blue, purple, black, white). The thing that needs to happen varies from what it seems, but is usually fairly traumatic to some extent. This is why most white whistles are a bit... off, to say the least. Ozen has some trauma that i dont think ever gets fully explained even in the manga, but thats part of why she is as blunt and non empathetic as she is. She cares, but has traumas that make her care a bit rough. She typically always knows what she is doing and the thing she does to Reg she does full knowing he can handle it, but wants to test both him, and to some extent herself, to see what each is capable of, i assume out of a morbid curiosity, though, yes she took it a bit WAAAY too far. This show has darkness all throughout, that starts out in the background with hints here and there that you can feel, and as it goes on the darkness slowly comes forward more. Its a fantastic series, and im glad youre enjoying it so far!

Marluk is a he (not a she) btw. He uses "Boku" which is a way boys refer to themselves, which is why Reg asked him if he was a girl (since he obviously dresses like one). I think it's shared more in the Manga, but Ozen makes him dress like that. Which is why when Rico exited the bath Reg was saying "You've had it tough too" and Marluk was saying "No, no, nothing horrible has happened to me."
