No Onimai and Magical Girl Destroyers, ehhh, well, maybe next time

Otaku just means someone who is super into something. Like train otaku, anime otaku, idol otaku. Also she is an elf who was summoned to Japan around 400 to 500 years ago. You should also check out the offical music video for the song as well.

Suraj ayinde

You're pronunciation of otaku is wrong, you're definitely going to get flamed for that when this video gets uploaded to YouTube 😂.

Frank Stendal

I enjoyed Trigun... The new one is done by the same studio as Beastars. You'll probably run up against people with Original Trigun Nostalgia who don't like it because it's not the original or because it's CG, but I liked it for what it was. Otaku Elf is chill and relaxing. There isn't any drama so far, it's just a vibe. And yes, she really is an elf.

Jacob

Trigun stampede is a remake of an old classic anime from the 90's you should totally check out the original op/ed

BlekDimon

I feel like I heard many times something practicaly the same as Trigun opening in a radio around 10-15yrs ago, but not in japanese. Also Otaku Elf seems like another Umaru-chan.

nicolassngf

Indeed otaku means mom 👀👀

For Trigun I'd probably recommend watching the 1998 version first. It's a bit dated now, but for the most part it holds up, but that might just be my nostalgia goggles speaking. The original Trigun series is one of my favorites of all time, one of few I've given a 10/10 on MyAnimeList. I've yet to finish watching the remake, but I can say from the first few episodes that the action is top tier. Though a lot of people would bash it because it's animated mostly with CGI rather than traditional animation.

Lex

otaku can just be comprehend as neet in this anime, about an elf living in modern world and introducing 17th century japanese lifestyle and cultrure, the real name of this anime is called edomae elf, but who da fk would know what edomae means if you're not familiar with japanese history so in English they use otaku, my favorite anime in 2023 spring behind demon slayer btw.

S1LΣnt_N1ko

I can def recommend Buddie Daddies. That one is wholesome af

Antoine Jones

"Buy 9 private jets and have them race eachother" lol. If you did that Id come all the way across the pond just to slap you :p

Karina ~ Stirret

I love this kind of videos. I recommend you to check out Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi o Suru opening, for me my favorite of this season ♥️

Ara Araragi

If you enjoyed the OP for "The Legendary Hero is Dead" then you should check out the full music video: "Shinda" by Masayoshi Oishi. I'd also recommend his song "Gift" which was the OP for another 2023 anime called "The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten."

Some0neElse

would really love to see your reaction to these: Isekai Quartet - OP/ED Nichijou - OP/ED Cautious hero - OP/ED I Quit Heroing - OP/ED Toradora - OP/ED The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumia - OP/ED Also Otaku commonly refers to someone who is way too much into gaming/anime/manga etc to a point of this becoming their cornerstone. Weeb is a way of saying Weaboo - when the word started being used in western world it meant basically "anime fanatic" or someone who obsess with anime so much that they lose touch with reality. They start talking, dressing and acting like anime characters. You should check Filthy Frank's video explanation of weebs tbh

TheReveredNinja

The Trigun Stampede opening is a straight up vibe. I knew from the start of the video that Luke would love it too.

Lex

What the flags says on the side of the girl 1、work hard 2、touch grass 3、speak well 4、get up early 5、do things properly 6、no excuse 7、be mature On the other side of the elf 1、don’t get mad frequently 2、want to sleep more 3、give more allowance 4、weekend everyday 5、neet is best 6、2 red bull a day

wildhunt1973

Best definition of Otaku (ö'täkōō) I've found is this: (In Japan) a young person who is obsessed with computers or particular aspects of popular culture to the detriment of their social skills." So it has nothing to do with moms or elves. Interesting guesses, though. Requesting you check out the OP and full OP of Doll's Frontline, but as I'm the only one who seems interested in you checking out the song that you did say you really liked when you heard part of it in a previous top 50 video, then I know you'll probably never get to it.

Mad Goldsmith

„Otaku“ means someone who are obsessed with something; in the west mostly used for anime especially in the past. Nowadays, in the west, you will hear the slightly more derogatory but meanwhile still accepted common term „weeaboo“. In Japan, „Otaku“ can be translated to nerd. It rather has a negative connotation over there though not as much as „hikkikomori“ which means „neet“ or „shut-in“. Sure you heard that word a lot in KonoSuba. You are pretty much on point with your guess about Buddy Daddies except for the fact that those two aren‘t exactly spies. Pretty wholesome, a few dark elements though. It‘s the slightly more realistic Spy x Family which is another one I can recommend. Personally, I came to like BD a little more though. Since you are into horror and all that stuff, may I recommend you the Corpse Party openings and some OSTs from the Visual Novel?

Solar

seems everyone already answered what an otaku is, but simplest answer is an unhealthy obsession with a hobby for example when someone spends all their free time on Video games but it could really apply to any hobby

Slipstream

Want to know what a Weaboo is? React to to the Weaboo Song by Filthy Frank and all will become clear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBfWKmRFTjM

Frost Fox

'Slice of Life' might be the genre you're looking for for daily life anime? I wasnt too excited when watching The Legendary Hero is Dead, but maybe it's to your taste.

Crimson

It seems all anyone wants to talk about is how the legendary hero is dead is bad, or old vs new trigun, or your mispronunciation of otaku. But let me be the second here to recommend Buddy Daddies. It was honestly so wholesome and one of my favorite anime this year

Tomokazu Ohno

Buddy Daddies is goooood. Please check it out.

Beanssss

You should check out the Chaos;Head and Chaos;Child openings

Martin Snow

Ooh deep cuts! But really, nothing cuts deeper than the Chaos;Head ending. By that I mean, exsanguination.

Daithirian

I've watched at least some of all but Buddy Daddies, mainly since it felt a bit close to Spy X Family in the initial plot idea from what little I know. Buddy Daddies is all up after the winter season. Only did one episode of the Legendary Hero is Dead so far. It does have some Konosuba vibes to it, but that's beaten out by the actual Konosuba Megumin prequel series "An Explosion on this Wonderful World" running this season. Both are about 4 episodes in Otaku Elf is also currently running and it's a fun slice of life about an Elf summoned to Japan and enshrined as a goddess. The Girl is the latest in her family to serve as the Elf's shrine maiden attendant. But the elf is an uber nerd shut in. It's only a month into it's run as well. "Trigun Stampede" is a remake of the original Trigun series from 1997. Definately check out the originals opening H.T. or Hard Target. Where the original started out as a silly comedy action feel before delving deeper and darker, Stampede pretty much starts with the drama. Both offer a cool Sci Fi Old West in Space desert planet setting. The original is one of my favorites and the new one didn't disappoint either other than changing the cast up a bit. All of it is up already.

Reennji

You have to react to the first opening of Trigun (1998) I'm adding some others in case you want to react to some retro openings: Yū Yū Hakusho - opening 1 (1992) Mobile Suit Gundam Wing - opening 1 (1995) Dragon Ball GT (1996) Serial Experiments Lain (1998) Cowboy Bebop (1998) Digimon Adventure (1999) Great Teacher Onizuka "GTO" (1999) Hellsing (2001) Gantz (2004) Tenjō Tenge (2004) Bakurano (2007)

Diana Salzveg

BUDDY DADDIES IS AWESOME!! It was such a ride, a very heartwarming anime, funny, it has everything: action, drama, humor, very sweet moments... I think that as a parent, you can appreciate it greatly!

Kyle

Compilation suggestions: ------------------------- Mecha Anime: Eureka Seven Gurren Lagann Code Geass "Darker" Anime: Darker Than Black Ergo Proxy Serial Experiments Lain Devilman Crybaby

Ninni

Buddy daddies was lovely, well worth checking out. I really really enjoyed it and it was kind of nice to have a series that was self contained in one season.

Majoz

Really disapointing content, none of these are close to the best, you forgot demon slayer, tolyo revengees and dr stone, ans attack on titan

yorgash

Not only that, but all are targets more or less at the same default demographics, and are pretty basic and to me boring and repetitive

Anonymous

Otaku for you to understand, is a person that is in a step forward from being a normal fan of something, in a more obsessive side. Daru from Steins Gate is a good example of an otaku.

Moshinoki

Not having heard of trigun is a sin

Moshinoki

Haha and kaa-san mean mom. Otaku is basically a japan-oriented nerd

Brayden Rickers

Buddy Daddies is a comedy and i would say watching is subbed or dubbed is fantastic. The dubbed though is wild and i love it

Brayden Rickers

an anime that doesn't have any fantasy elements is called a Slice of Life anime

Jeppe Beier

Slice of Life doesn't mean no fantasy. It just means the main focus is the every day life of the main cast. You could also have a slice of life in a fantasy setting, though those are probably more uncommon. An example of a fantasy slice of life could be Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.

Karen Porter

The Trigun opening here is for the brand new revamped show. The original is the one you previously listened to the openings/endings for and it was/is still huge. The new one has been pretty split on if it's good or bad compared to the original. I am just sad they cut my favorite character from the new one... otherwise I'd like to see it someday. As to that last one, Otaku is pronounced "oh-ta-coo" coo, like a baby coos.

Orkidaisy

Exactly. Another perfect example would be Hakumei to Mikochi.

To answer buddy daddies is a fantasic show, you would for sure enjoy that one if you give it a shot no doubt!

Tyler Smotherman

****Trigun Stampede SPOILER WARNING:****vvv They didn’t cut your favorite character (if you are referring to Milly). That was just haters trashing the series without giving it a chance. If they would have watched the whole season before ignorantly speaking on it, they would know that she’s in it.

Tyler Smotherman

Trigun is my favorite series. It’s a strange one to recommend. My personal favorite version is the manga, most people haven’t read the manga but prefer the original anime series. Then there is Trigun Stampede. Neither anime adaptations go along with the manga and each have their own take for their own reasons. Stampede’s CGI is really good but CGI is a dirty word in the anime community so of course it wasn’t well received. Most people that only saw the OG anime had a strong opinion about the direction they thought the story was going after watching the trailers. Most didn’t give it a fair chance but it’s their loss. If you start at Stampede, you would enjoy the story and you would get to know the characters that people have loved for over 20 years. Only 12 episode to be caught up so I’d say knock it out on Twitch. Just be prepared for some vocal haters that don’t know what they are talking about.

Karen Porter

I don't think I can watch it anyway unless it's on netflix... but that does make me more happy to know Milly wasn't cut. Thank you Tyler.

Otaku elf is an elf. In this anime otaku means that she is a gamer, anime watcher, she has social anxiety and likes to collect things connected to japan culture.
