Dub is way better for FMA

Allen Martinez

For starters, I don't think there is any need to watch plain full metal alchemist. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the more accurate and superior version and is the only one you need to watch. As far as sub vs. dub, in most cases I would say the sub version is the superior version, but in the case for FMA: Brotherhood, an argument can certainly be made that the dub is superior. I have watched it FMA: Brotherhood both subbed and dubbed and I would be fine with either version.

I'm kind of disappointed Luke didn't get a chance to say "Shig A Nami" this episode. Also Misa is Best Girl. Actress to the bone, keeping composure after seeing her manager dropping to his death.

Getting your name legally changed would be the exact same thing as changing your name in your own perspective, or telling someone who doesn't know you a false name. It won't change the name that appears over your head through a shinigami's eyes. If that were the case then L probably would have already been dead.

Umareta

I prefer the sub. Because for the non English people. Reading the subs is more understandable than hearing it.

I feel the same, for some reason english dub with anime is just incomprehensible for me and I have to focus really hard to understand most of it, there is a lot of scenes no matter how much I will rewind, I just can't understand.

Kosumi

I love the dub of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The characters were cast perfectly in my opinion and the voice actors themselves are talented enough to put just the right inflection on each line. I'm not sure if the dub team edited the footage so the animation of the character's mouth movement synced with the lines or not, but even that feels perfect. Out of every anime with a good english dub, FMA: Brotherhood feels the most necessary to watch dubbed. I'd go so far as to say that the dubbed version of the show is even better than the subbed version

Tyler Rimmel

Dub for FMA is excellent. It's much more enjoyable

Rick James

just need FMAB, and sub

Rick James

also, we're not gonna talk abt how that dude pocketed the strawberry? lol

Lukash

how can anyone like Misa :D

Antoine Jones

Matsuda didnt say he couldnt hear he said "i wish i could hear more clearly" so he closed his eyes and focused a little more and could pick more things up.... thats an actual thing.. no magic genie required. Lol how you gonna tell that other guy to chill? Lets see you remain calm when you know someone who can kill you instantly by writing your name tells you, youll be dead by tomorrow, because you said you wanted out.

I know people are definitely going to disagree with me, but I really love the original Full Metal Alchemist from 2003. It's slower paced and has some filler, but I don't think I'd love the series as much without it and I think it's a bit of a shame to jump straight into Brotherhood.

Tekbox

in my opinion going to FMA brotherhood first and then the 2003 version is the best way cause brotherhood is closer to the original source material while 2003 is more like a fan fiction. a good one but not the original

Iris

I like both versions, but don't think it's necessary to watch Full Metal Alchemist since it's a deviated version of the original story. Full Metal Alchemist brotherhood closely follows the manga. It is 100% the complete experience terms of pacing, story, characters, unfolding of events etc. I watched this anime in English dub, and it's very decent. I'm fine with either dub or sub.

For FMAB I would vote dub. I'm usually a sub person but I feel like most the voices are well cast in dub version. Either way I'm excited for your eventual reaction!

Tom Boggess

L: "ill give you this strawberry, so please keep it a secret" Mogi: puts strawberry in his pocket. dafuq?

Tom Boggess

the deathnote doesn't care what your legal name is. the name you have at birth is tied to you forever as far as the death note is concerned

I've seen people say they watched the subbed version because the Japanese voice actors deserve their recognition. I will partially agree with that. But with an animated tv series or movie, anyone can be the voice of an animated character. That is why I prefer watching live action Asian movies subbed because I can see the actor and I know what they should sound like (I watched "Sakra" with Donnie Yen, and out of curiosity, I switched to dubbed to see if Donnie Yen did his own dubbing, and he did not, so it sounded so weird). So live action, yes, watch subbed. Animated, watch whatever you like or whatever has the best voice actors. The super-amazing Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood movies on Netflix (which are really well done) I watched subbed, but the animated series I prefer dubbed. Just my personal opinion.
