It's a shounen done well, if you don't like shounen you won't like it. If the adaptation is as good as S1 then S2 will be better, there's a reason the manga's doing so well. If you watched demon slayer and thought it was worth the watch, JJK is in the same genre just better and less "kid friendly" i'd say, now imma hide from DS fans cya.

I watched first season of JJK and nothing grabbed me. Usually even if I dont enjoy something from the start, like Demon Slayer for example, I at least have a character I like, or some moments. With JJK absolutely nothing, I dont regret watching it but I will not continue with second season. (btw I started loving demon slayer after spider arc)

It's a very decent anime, probably one of the best shonen nowadays, but that's not really saying much, there are hundreds of anime better than it. It's honestly not bad to have in like the background. It is by far not the "great anime" that young people want it to be and honestly I have no clue how this one won the poll considering the other options

It's decently executed with good animation, but it's very obviously inspired by other past shonen series and doesn't do much original or innovative to set itself appart.

"why can the MC see the curses" he LITERALLY said why in the SAME sentence.... "people normally cant see curses... unless theyre on the verge of death or in a place like this" :p And this is why you dont watch things subbed... you miss too much.. I bet you wouldve caught that if it were in English :p

Maybe he would but 90% of people prefer original voice actors so sub in this case. I personaly never found english dub better than original jp, maybe because english is my second language, idk. But I remember when sometimes I saw movies with a dub in my language and then the same movie but without dub, the original versions were so much better.

to be fair this first ep is one of the most information heavy episode 1's of any series ive seen recently. Im sure in the next few episodes the stuff luke saw will start to be reinforced. Happened that way for me at least.

My fav series currently! The manga is going nuts right now, Season 2 in a few months will definitely not disappoint. Also dont worry about missing a few things here and there, the dialog moves quickly and the stuff you actually need to know will be reinforced again in diff scenarios

Well you just said watching something in your language is better than English and that English is your second language so of course watching something in your primary language is better lol. Go watch any anime in your primary language (assuming you're not Japanese) and tell me you prefer Japanese lol.

unpopular opinion: Full Metal Alchemist is popular but it's not so good. It was kind of cool, when it was released. Now it would be waste of time. I tried watching it. My friends tried watching it. We could not make it past episodes 4-6-8.

I did not? I said that after watching some movies with dub in my language and original (english), the original ones was so much better. Never I found something dubbed in my primary language better, the same goes with jp animes dubbed in english.

Well I cant speak for budgets and production values of anime dubbed in your language but in English their quite high. English dubs today 80% of dubbed animes now are WAY better than what they used to be in the 80s and 90s. Is Japanese still better? Yes. But at least dubs today are WATCHABLE whereas because that shit was so bad it was literally unwatchable.hard to watch, so theyve improved greatly. Just because something is better than something else doesnt mean the other is bad. Scream 2 was better than Scream but Scream is still good.

I mean sure. For example when I heard english dub in sekiro which is a full on japanese game, it wasn't bad but imo it just didn't fit as good as jp dub, but in their other games that are originaly made in english it sounded a lot better. Tbh it might just be psychical barrier that tells me that original is always better, or just that original ones have higher budget so it almost always turns out to be better and I just have not enocountered a dub that is better than original. Always when I hear english dub in anime it just... sounds very weird to me, so I never bothered even to watching anime in english dub since anyways probably at least half of anime I watched dosen't even have a dub probably. edit: okay now that im looking a lot of anime have a dub, didn't even knew about that

That's just it like you said Seikiro dub wasn't BAD Japanese was just BETTER. Sometimes "not bad" is good enough. I mean I'm sure you can name 100 cars that are BETTER than what you drive. Sooooo why aren't you driving those? Also I can name a handful of dubs that actually ARE better than Japanese. It's like 10 out of 1000 but they exist. Fullmetal Alchemist is one of them

Yeah, friend recommended it to me praising the hell out of it, I expected masterpiece a got... decent anime, dropped a few times but finished eventualy, nowhere near as good as people say, but still pretty good.

I believe the curse in the rugby field didnt attack the dude cause it was a weak curse.. now why didnt the guy kill the curse i have no idea.. xD also everyone would saw the curses in the school cause the seal was broken the 2 occultist students saw them too.. maan.. this is going to be a pain to wait for new episode lol you all better go subscribe on youtube.. :D even the Luke himself want another episode :P great anime.. cant wait for season 2^^

Japanese VA's in Anime allways better. I watched many animes in Ger Dub (my Language) and eng dub, it never reaches the level of emotion. I allways prefer the Japanese VA's.

On some jp site with anime ranking fmab is at 31 place when it comes to popularity, about score, it has 4.2/5 stars and is 25 place. Ranking on this jp is sure hella different, 2nd place clannad and 5th place bakemonogatari for example.

Children's DS (for 14-year-olds) and adult JJK (for 15-year-olds). A very big difference, shonen is shonen lmao. But forgive me, JJK fans, I didn't like the graphics at all, I watched it through, I didn't have such problems with DS, the plot is stupid, but the fights are beautiful

original va is always better. people who they choose for eng dub va are so bad they don't suit they role. there are exceptions like madara in naruto shippuden or kafka in star rail, but for example lucy's eng va in fairy tail is so bad and doesn't suit lucy's role at all...

I damand you watch Jujitsu Kiason 0. JK the movie needs to come right after you watch all of S1. SK0 you watch after S1 but it comes earlier in the timeline. You watch it after so you understand the magic of curses.

Agree Brotherhood skips a lot of the early story telling as it was made for people who actually had seen the original FMA first. FMAB is a good anime, but nothing that amazing.

Luke, you should eventually add "paranoia agent" to your list. It's messed up, psychological thriller style. Parasyte is another good one for this style.

I am so excited for to Jujutsu Kaisen to finally be on the menu! Its also animated by the same studio (Mappa) that did Chainsaw Man. So the fighting animations are really good. And the MC is honestly one of my favorites because he's just a decent person in general but still kind of a goof. Also, the side characters are all done really well. Can't wait for you to watch more!

How about they're both good in their own ways? I don't get why so many anime watchers nowadays have to die-hard rep a series and trash everything else. It's pretty stupid. There are a plethora of series that do things very well and have their own flaws.

Yuji is so strong for a reason, but this reason will be unknown for a while. Probably it will be revealed in season 3 or so. But I don’t gonna spoil what this reason is since it’s quite a big spoiler for anime onlies

I also don’t understand ppl who compares Demon Slayer and JJK. It’s two completely different shows, even if it’s both shounens. And JJK is so much better in every way - plot, animation, characters. And I won’t say that this is just my opinion, it’s objectively like that. At least in terms of plot and characters. Animation is equally good, but I just don’t like the characters design and animation style of DS. And I’m not the biggest fan of the first JJK arcs, though they’re still quite good, but nothing super extraordinary (still much better then DS). And JJK Season 2 and so on will be even better, much better. DS, on the other hand… I hope I don’t have to explain it. Very primitive plot, lack of character’s growth, every second backstory are literally the same, the amount of CG, etc. And I don’t want to offend any DS fans, I have sh*tty anime that I still like anyways too, but it’s just unfair to compare DS and JJK, it’s derogatory towards JJK

I know I'm late to the convo here but usually if you "don't want to offend DS fans" then you choose not to. I agree with your points but to say things like "it's objectively like that" invalidates different opinions than yours. People are allowed to disagree and opinions are by nature SUBJECTIVE. Therefore your opinion that JJK is better (while valid and I agree with it) is still subjective. There is no RIGHT answer here.
