Goblin slayer is a VERY strong starting anime. usually shows start alright and improve, but that show is incredible in the first few episodes. you could argue it gets worse as it goes, but its still definitely a fun show beyond that point. While i love my dark and twisted anime (hellsing, etc), actual horror usually doesn't do it for me. Another was pretty damn good though, if thats the genre you like its a good choice. If i can offer a suggestion for dark shows, Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne is pretty interesting, and has a really good OP. it miiight stray a little too much into actually 18+ content/themes, but id love to see the OP on here at least!

I highly recommend the sond world.excecute(me); by Milli, who made the Goblin Slayer opening. The song itself is amazing, but especially if you know a little bit about programming you can dig deep into the lyrics. I'm really glad that Goblin Slayer introduced me to that band. If you watch Another then know you will never look at umbrellas the same way again.

Maybe I'm nuts, but I don't think the new Berserk holds a candle to the old 90's one. The pacing, the downright shameful animation, the camera swinging around so much you get motion-sickness... CG animation can look very good, but that's not the case here. If you choose to watch Berserk, either watch the 1997 one, or stick to the Berserk movies. I still don't love the movies, but it'll save you from the embarrassment that is the 2016 series. Maybe it got better, but I couldn't get through it. 2016 will taint your perception of one of the most influential and powerful works of media of the modern era. Personally, I'd say Manga > 1997 Anime > Not watching/reading Berserk at all > Berserk Movies > Stomach Flu > 2016 anime.

No. Re:Zero season 3 s not getting cancelled. It's just a bunch of twitter and reddit freaks trying to get the show cancelled because they don't like the show and have no clue what it's about. And yes please watch Goblin Slayer. It's good. But it will have to be patreon only. Beserk is really good I would watch the 1997 version and also the movies. The movies have been re-edited and fixed as a TV version on crunchyroll with extra footage.

I think the best way to describe Another is by referring it to as Final Destination the anime. If you've seen Final Destination....then you'll understand what I mean.

So here's the thing with Berserk. It's REALLY good. I mean REALLY good. The problem is the anime took a nose dive in quality after the first one. The original 1997 Berserk is amazing, can't recommend it enough. Berserk 2016 onwards... I mean, the story is still good. It's still berserk, but the animation is painful to watch. Also to answer your quetion, Berserk 2016 isn't a remake no. It's a sequel, or rather continuation of teh story following the manga. I believe the first anime follows the golden arc of the manga, the arc in 2016 I think is called tower of god? I could be wrong. And the latest one I don't know what is called. But they are all separate chapters in teh Berserk story. TLDR: reccommend the first Berserk anime, still hesitantly recommend the newer animes. Just be ready for subpar animation with Berserk 2016 onwards.

I think the bad things said about Goblin Slayer are overblown. It was right after the Shield Hero controversy and people were looking for bad things to say.

Another is not that messed up. It's just the anime version of an average horror movie that looks really nice. I am not criticizing it. It's a good anime but it's not really messed up in any way in my opinion. I recommend watching it sometime in the future. Goblin Slayer episode 1 can be considered messed up but it's only trying to make a point and it's pretty practical. If you see the same thing happening in a show like Game of Thrones or The Boys on a premium streaming platform it's okay but if it is shown in anime everyone makes a big deal about it. Yes, it is definitely horrible what happened to those characters but beyond episode 1 there rest of the anime is just the Goblin Slayer slaying goblins. Maybe there are horror stories about people's suffering but the intention behind it is not to create "hentai" or "perverted" content. They just wanted to make a point about how grim the world is in Goblin Slayer. The combat in the anime is often realistic and interesting. The light novel describes a lot of the combat tactics in detail. It's definitely a good anime and the light novel it is based on is really well written. I definitely recommend watching Goblin Slayer. Berserk on the other hand is pretty messed up. However, compared to the manga, the anime is not that bad. I will recommend watching the original 1997 Berserk anime. I think we all can appreciate how good the anime is despite it being that old and even 10 years later when someone watches it I am sure they enjoy it. Fun fact Berserk inspired a lot of the things in the Dark Souls games. There is an anime similar to Berserk which is also messed up but I will recommend it. It's called Claymore. A really messed up anime I can think of on top of my head is Chaos; Child. I wouldn't actually recommend it. Another two messed anime that popped up immediately after it are Shiki and Higurashi: When they Cry. I will say watch a few episodes of them and if you like it then continue watching it. I really hated Higurashi when I first started watching it and I stopped watching after 3 episodes. Several months later I tried to watch it again and this time I finished it (excluding the newest season that came out several years later). And I think I like it.

Goblin Slayer is basically a realistic take on what is adventuring in a fantasy world tbh. I recommend it
