I was on Light's side. Am I still? Won't say till we explore the rest of the series. Mind you I watched this when I was 16. Point being Light's goal is a noble one but is it worth it.

He started here on patreon, but there was a copyright issue, i think on patreons end, so he had to remove the first 6 from here, then he started doing this way. I think hed said he was going to post the others back up like this, but he hasnt yet, as far as i know.

I won't say that I disagree with you, but let me play devil's advocate for a second here. You say that Ray Penbar and his wife are "just innocent civilians" that Light is perfectly willing to murder for his personal gain. However, in Light's mind, they are not innocent at all, and it is not for his personal gain or desire. He sees it as a necessary evil required for his greater goal of world peace, he sees anyone involved in the investigation and anyone who is a serious threat to his operation as "allies" of his enemies, which is every evil person in the world since they are trying to stop Light from accomplishing his goal, and they are defending the lives of the prisoners. You cannot liken these people to the same level as "any random civilian", Light does have standards and morals, he seems to operate on the basis that he will not kill unless absolutely necessary, and he tries to keep casualties to a minimum where non-criminals are involved. If a common civilian were to find out something about Lights identity as Kira, then they would probably switch in his brain from being innocent to being evil, which is what you are talking about. But obviously, he is trying his best to not allow anyone to know his identity, so he is obviously trying to keep innocent death to a minimum. Just wanted to drop my two cents on the situation, Light is obvoiusly in the wrong here overall, his entire mindset a view of the world is childish and skewed, and he has a deep rooted evil in his brain for some reason that is undeniable, but as with any villian, they have their reasoning and rational behind their actions and motives, and sometimes they cant really be enticing, almost looking like it could be the correct course of action.
