2023-03-22 05:01:54 Same, I grew out of liking comedy & ecchi anime a long time ago. At one point it just becomes the same jokes and situations/setting with different characters. But I don't mind the disparity of serious/sad and comedic/romance that we're having on the different days at the moment.

In terms of anime, they're about the same; Overlord has four seasons with 52 episodes total, and one upcoming non-recap movie. Re:Zero has two seasons with 50 episodes total, one prequel movie, and a one hour special. Re:Zero episodes are somewhat longer though, especially in the second half of season two where they cut out all ad breaks and most OP/ED. For the source material, yeah, Re:Zero is much longer... Overlord has 16 Light Novels so far, and is expected to end with the 18th. Re:Zero has 32 light novels, 5 side-stories and 8 short story collections, and is also still ongoing.

Quite honestly, I think Re:Zero needs to be watched without a live audience. It's a serious show that works best when you're fully immersed. And that's just outside of the fact that the chat will be throwing out constant spoilers.

How about Mob Psycho 100 as a follow-up to Konasuba? The art style can take a little getting used to, imo, but the animation quality is fantastic - particularly during many of the bonkers action scenes. Beyond that, though, it has a great story and great characters. Also, it is finished at three seasons - thirty-six episodes total.
